Of the three below, one said, "Clan Leader, we'll go check right away."
The three then flashed away, vanishing and reappearing underground. There, they found the tunnels in chaos—someone had deliberately blocked them.
"Damn it, who came here?" This place has barriers—how could outsiders get in? One exclaimed in shock.
Another frowned and said, "This is serious. We need to report to the Clan Leader immediately."
The last one replied, "Right, let's go."
With a flash, the three reappeared inside the Wood Immortal Hall. The Clan Leader looked at them, wanting answers. When the three reported everything they saw, he exclaimed, "How could this happen?"
"No idea—not a single trace left behind, and there are many unfamiliar formation arrays." one answered.
"Arrays? Damn it, someone infiltrated our Wood Family, and no one noticed."
This shocked everyone. It was unbelievable—someone had snuck underground and no one noticed. The barriers aren't easy to break. No one expected Lynn Lin's accidental entry underground.
Seeing the Clan Leader furious, the three spoke in unison, "We will definitely find out who entered."
"Three days. Within three days, I want answers," the Clan Leader demanded. The three nodded and left.
The Clan Leader was left deep in thought. "I wonder what the guardian beast saw to make it so furious. Was it a person, or...?"
For Evan Yang and Lynn Lin, they were already on their way to the competition. Lynn Lin sent Evan a voice transmission, "If you can't win, just admit defeat. There's no rule you have to win."
"Prince Adrian Wood wants to force me to act. Do you really think surrendering will make them let me go?" Evan Yang replied with a smile.
"So what do you mean?" Lynn Lin asked anxiously.
"We'll know when we get there. If it gets really bad, escaping is the best option—just leave this place," Evan Yang said with a smile.
Just as Evan finished speaking, his divine sense picked up a woman approaching nearby, followed by several maids. The figure was all too familiar—he'd been listening to her zither music every day lately.
"It's her?" Evan Yang said in surprise.
"Who?" Lynn Lin looked over and saw a woman, her face veiled and unrecognizable. Evan stared at her, lost in thought. As any girl would, Lynn Lin felt jealous and stomped on Evan's foot.
Evan snapped out of it, frowning, "What are you doing?"
"Nothing, just reminding you—we're heading to the competition, so don't go picking flowers or flirting," Lynn Lin said with a smile.
Evan was speechless. She'd taken it the wrong way—he was interested in the woman because her zither music touched him.
"What are you two doing?" The leading guard asked, displeased.
Evan smiled, "Nothing." He kept an eye on the woman as he walked with the guard, noticing both groups were heading the same way. They arrived at a plaza already packed with people.
"It's just a contest—why so many people?" Lynn Lin exclaimed. Evan was surprised too, wondering what Prince Adrian Wood was planning.
As Evan and Lynn arrived, someone greeted them. At that moment, the veiled woman softly said, "You must be Sister Lynn, right?"
"Sister Lynn?" Lynn Lin was momentarily stunned.
Evan Yang curiously looked at the woman. Why was she suddenly greeting Lynn Lin? The woman glanced at Evan and smiled, her eyes conveying everything.
Feeling as if he'd been seen through, Evan steadied himself and smiled, "And you are?"
"I'm Melody Wood, Prince Adrian Wood's younger sister," the woman said with a smile.
"So that's who you are. I thought it was someone else," Lynn Lin said with a smile.
"Welcome to the Wood Family, and to your remarkable bodyguard," Melody Wood said with a smile.
Lynn Lin replied, "We're not married yet, so it doesn't count. Just call me Lynn Lin."
"Is that so? Alright then," Melody Wood smiled, then left with her maids for her designated spot.
At that moment, Prince Adrian Wood walked over with his entourage and smiled, "So, you've already greeted my sister?"
"Yeah, we just met," Lynn Lin replied, her tone noticeably colder due to her resentment toward Prince Adrian Wood.
Seeing Lynn Lin's displeasure, Prince Adrian Wood forced a smile, "Come on, I've arranged seats for you—just up ahead."
Lynn Lin and Evan Yang walked to their seats, which were close to Melody Wood's. After they sat, Melody Wood smiled at them, Evan smiled back, while Lynn Lin sat there with a sour expression.
Prince Adrian Wood smiled, "Just sit here. I have things to do."
After Prince Adrian Wood left, many people came over to chat. Obviously, it was because Lynn Lin had been chosen by the prince, and everyone assumed he would marry her.
Lynn Lin was annoyed but couldn't lash out, so she dealt with them as best she could. Just then, her master arrived.
"Lynn, you're here. Here, this is your antidote," her master said with a smile.
Lynn Lin took it, gave one to Evan Yang, then pretended to swallow it and asked, "Master, are you planning to deliver medicine to me every day for the rest of my life?"
"No, once you marry Prince Adrian Wood, I'll give you half an antidote. It will only activate once every ten years, so you just need to visit me once a decade," her master replied with a smile.
"Master, you're so good to me," Lynn Lin said gloomily.
"No choice—I only have one good disciple, right?" her master replied, smiling.
"Master, what's your real reason? I don't believe it's just for the sect," Lynn Lin couldn't help but ask.
Her master gave Lynn Lin a sharp look, then smiled, "Don't worry about it. Just focus on your princess dream."
Lynn Lin really wanted to know, but her master wouldn't say—just left smiling, and sent Evan Yang a voice transmission: "If you want to live, you'd better do as I say. Stay close to her and don't let her escape, or you won't survive—the poison will eat you alive."

Evan Yang secretly laughed, "Your poison stopped working ages ago."
Lynn Lin's master, unaware, still hoped Evan would help organize Lynn's escape. She knew that if Lynn was pushed too far, she might leave anyway.
After her master left, Lynn Lin grumbled, "Damn, what kind of master is this? I'm just a tool."
"Your master is really scheming. Be careful," Evan Yang said, sensing something unusual about her master, though he couldn't pinpoint what.
"Is that so? She's rarely spoken to me since I was young, except for cultivation. I don't even know her real personality," Lynn Lin sighed.
"No wonder she's so cold to you," Evan Yang replied.
"Whatever. After today, I have to find another way to leave, no matter what." Thinking of the guardian beast underground, Lynn Lin gave up on the tunnel plan and started looking for other options.
Evan Yang nodded. The arena was bustling. Prince Adrian Wood stood on stage and announced, "Today is the annual bodyguard competition. Every bodyguard must protect their master, so your abilities will be tested. As always, you'll be tested in all aspects. You'll be teleported to a destination, and whoever comes out first wins. But I want to remind you, this time we've added some new elements. Besides watching out for people, you also need to watch out for dangerous spirit beasts. Some of them are man-eaters, as strong as Immortal Sovereigns."
Everyone gasped. This was harder than before. Evan Yang hadn't expected their contest to be like this, but it was also an opportunity for him.
Lynn Lin was worried. She sent Evan a voice transmission, "What if Prince Adrian Wood sends people to target you?"
"Don't worry, I have my ways," Evan Yang replied with a smile.
Lynn Lin thought about it and still felt uneasy. She handed Evan something, "Take this. It's not much of an artifact, but it's useful for escaping."
Looking at the shovel, Evan Yang smiled, "Alright, I'll take it." He put the shovel away. Soon, a tunnel entrance appeared in the arena's center. Evan realized it was a separate space, so he wasn't worried about others discovering his plans—if anyone found out, they'd just be knocked out.
Prince Adrian Wood said to everyone, "You may enter now. Welcome back when you're done."
The contestants entered one by one. Evan Yang joined the group and noticed several people hostile toward him.
"These guys must be sent by Prince Adrian Wood," Evan Yang muttered to himself.
Watching Evan Yang enter, Prince Adrian Wood sneered inwardly, "Let's see if you're real or fake. If I get rid of you, that's fine too."
Prince Adrian Wood never liked Evan Yang, but couldn't find an excuse to eliminate him. Now that Evan was inside, he was thrilled.
Lynn Lin was worried. After Evan left, Prince Adrian Wood came over and smiled, "What? Worried about your bodyguard?"
"Did you set this up?" Lynn Lin asked.
"What did I set up?" Prince Adrian Wood feigned ignorance.
Lynn Lin knew he wouldn't admit it, so she said, "Before we're married, stay away from me. I hope you'll respect that."
Prince Adrian Wood smiled, "Alright, I'll respect you." Then he left, but secretly scoffed, "Sooner or later, you'll be mine."
After Prince Adrian Wood left, Melody Wood came over to Lynn Lin. Lynn Lin was curious—was Melody here to speak for her brother?
"You really don't like my brother, do you?" Melody Wood said with a smile.
"Of course, it's not my choice," Lynn Lin replied bluntly. Melody Wood was stunned for a moment, then smiled, "So that's how it is. Did my brother force you?"
Lynn Lin thought Melody Wood should be upset by her words, but was surprised to see her still smiling. Lynn Lin couldn't help but ask, "Aren't you angry?"
