Plea for Leniency

"Starry Sky Fiend?"

Lu Yang, the path-protector shrouded in starfire, instantly darkened his expression.

Across the vast starry sky, countless races stand side by side, each ranked by the cosmic hierarchy of life. Beneath the Four Great Life Races are the second-rate life races, among which the Starry Sky Fiends are included.

If that were all, Lu Yang would not be concerned.

The crucial point is that the Starry Sky Fiends once ruled over the Human Race—exploiting, oppressing, enslaving, and treating human lives as worthless.

There is no exaggeration in this description.

Compared to the Awakened Beasts Race’s current situation, the Human Race’s past was like heaven and earth—an unimaginable gulf. The suffering endured by the Star-Sky Humans is beyond anything the Quibeasts can imagine; even the privilege of independent territory marks a stark contrast.

"I’ve heard stories."

Lu Yang’s voice was low: “Back then, our Human Race didn’t even have a fixed place to live. We survived on whatever the Starry Sky Fiends occasionally allowed us.”

The rise of the Human Race was extraordinarily arduous, so few speak of it.

Lifeforms that transcend the Cosmic Eternal Realm: immortal, ageless, and immune to decay—wielding the sun and moon, plucking the stars is mere routine.

"Heh."

Andrew Han gave a cold laugh as he swirled his juice. "Is he just bored to madness?"

"It's hard to say, anything's possible." Lu Yang frowned as well. "I always felt that Kechron of the Quibeasts harbored a kind of fanatical belief. When I fought him, his single eye shone with a frightening determination... Enough, let's not discuss it. The assassination attempt is over. Whatever ideals Kechron held, I can't guess. All that matters is Your Highness returns safely to the Spark-Heritage Zone's Primeval Gate."

"Whatever his ideals!" Andrew crushed the multicolored crystal cup in his hand. "I want him dead!"

The cup shattered with a crisp crackle.

The drained crystal cup broke into fine powder.

The drifting rainbow dust fully revealed Andrew's murderous intent, startling Lu Yang. "Your Highness, you mustn't be impulsive. Let Archaic Hall handle it."

"Don't worry."

Andrew glanced at Lu Yang.

He wasn't so foolish. Archaic Hall's judgment would be absolutely fair and impartial—undeniable, unquestionable. Besides, Archaic Hall stands for the Human Race; Andrew had no right to act for personal reasons...

"I just want to add fuel to the fire."

Andrew turned away, gazing out at the scenery, a vague concept of Fate Rebel flashing through his mind.

Even if there was only the slightest chance of his Fate Rebel identity being exposed...

Would Kechron of the Quibeasts live or die?

Andrew's gaze turned chilling. "If the Dao of Fate's wrath descends, Archaic Hall will surely take it seriously."

Better to mistakenly kill billions than let even one escape.

Thinking this, his eyes shone with gold and red, and even Lu Yang, standing nearby, was startled.

Since being appointed as path-protector, Lu Yang had never seen Andrew's killing intent so intense. "Your Highness, your wounds haven't healed—you still need to recover. It's not wise to get so worked up."

Hearing this,

Andrew touched the crack at his brow, which looked like a diamond-shaped black hole. He lifted his head, revealing a row of white teeth. "The wound Kechron's soul-blade left does affect my soul's operation, but I can faintly feel my soul growing stronger. My Tenacity Origin Talent has been triggered."

"Huh?"

Lu Yang was dumbfounded.

Was this fortune from misfortune, or perhaps the darkest hour before dawn?

"Either way, it's a good thing." Andrew smiled faintly, waving his left hand to conjure a circular mirror, inspecting his white hair and brow wound. "It's stopped bleeding—just hurts a little."

His white hair looked even more weathered.

The brow wound was slowly shrinking, nearly healed.

"Tenacity."

Lu Yang, the path-protector, was especially amazed, studying Andrew closely.

Next moment—

Ding-dong!

A crisp buzz interrupted their thoughts.

Andrew reached into his robe and pulled out his Star-Gate Communicator. It was an unknown transmission from outside—more precisely, a plea from the Quibeasts, hoping Andrew would show leniency...
