I Am Still Only a Soul Body

1/19/2026

Splitting a soul-body in two isn’t the end—death doesn’t come that easy! Sure, its attack power drops, but as long as it stays a soul-body, it can just fuse itself back together in a flash.

Evan Chu wasn’t about to give this freak a chance to recover. His Frostbane Sword flashed out, Soul Rend unleashed again—bam! He struck one half of the black mist dead-on, splitting it all over again.

He’d already learned this trick fighting Mad Butcher Demon General inside a spatial black hole—even if the enemy wasn’t made of demonic qi, the logic was the same. Chop a soul-body into a thousand pieces, and only then can Luna and the Wind-Binding Pearl’s spirit safely swallow up the soul power.

“Kid, you think you can kill me with that? Don’t kid yourself! My soul-body’s lasted ten thousand years—what makes you think you can cut me down so easy?” The ancient voice echoed from the other half of the black mist, full of contempt.

Evan just laughed. “Then give it a try! I always finish off my enemies when they’re down. Once your soul’s split into pieces, fusing back together gets a whole lot harder!”

If this ancient powerhouse had shown up as a black human-shaped shadow instead of a soul-body of mist, Evan might’ve been wary. But now? The guy made a fatal mistake—there’s no way he’s putting himself back together. All he can do is watch as Evan tears him apart chunk by chunk.

But the enemy wasn’t out of tricks. As Evan’s Frostbane Sword swung at one clump of black mist, another shot off into the distance. No matter which he attacked, the other had a chance to escape. As long as even one piece survived, he could always crawl back someday.

Seeing that guy try to run, Evan shouted at the Wind-Binding Pearl floating overhead, “Little sister, lock him down! Don’t let him get away!”

The Wind-Binding Pearl’s spirit zipped in front of Evan, unleashing a surge of cyan light that instantly covered several miles. The escaping black mist got trapped inside, nowhere to run.

The ancient soul found himself frozen, unable to move. “Impossible! Why can’t I move? Kid, what kind of evil technique did you use? Let me go!”

Evan grinned, cocky as ever. “Weren’t you just itching to run? Go on, show your lord how fast you are! Today you’ll pay for your own stupidity. You want to steal my body? Keep dreaming! If you’d just sat quietly, maybe you’d have gotten out alive. But now? You’re finished!”

He flashed through the air, unleashing Soul Rend after Soul Rend, chopping the black mist into a thousand pieces. Evan had no clue how long he kept going—his arm was sore before he finally stopped. He checked out the shredded mist and laughed, “Big Sis Luna, little sister, time to chow down on this guy’s soul power!”

As soon as Evan finished speaking, a flash of white light burst from his brow—a tiny silver sword appeared, sucking up all the scattered black mist. The blade’s glow exploded, and in just moments it had doubled in size.

Next, a hazy young girl materialized in front of Evan—completely naked. For the first time ever, Evan saw Luna’s body clear as day, with nothing left to the imagination.

Every curve, every secret was on full display. Luna didn’t shy away—she teased, “So, Evan, do you like what you see? This time I’m really letting you feast your eyes!”

Evan felt something trickle from his nose—he checked, but found nothing. Still, his mouth was dry, his body burning up inside. He knew it was his Pure Yang Qi acting up again.

“Big Sis Luna, you’d better put on some clothes! If my Pure Yang Qi gets out of control, you’ll make me wish I was dead!” Evan blurted out, flustered. Sure, Luna’s body was mesmerizing, but he couldn’t actually be with her—pure torture.

Luna laughed. “That’s your punishment! Serves you right for always fooling around with your women. Now you know the pain of looking but not touching!” With a snap, a white dress appeared and covered her up.

Luna felt almost real to Evan now, but he knew she was still just a soul-body. He glanced at the Wind-Binding Pearl and asked, “How’s little sister supposed to absorb this guy’s soul power? She seems kinda out of it right now.”

“Big brother, I’ve got it covered—watch me!” the Wind-Binding Pearl’s spirit piped up. The last of the black mist surged into the pearl and vanished without a trace.

The cyan glow from the Wind-Binding Pearl faded away. “Big brother, thank you! I need to sleep for a while. When I wake up, I’ll be able to pop out in front of you just like Luna!”

“Really? You’ll be able to come out of the Wind-Binding Pearl?” Evan was genuinely stunned.

“Of course! That soul power was super strong—probably refined by all the lightning here. Without it, I’d need years, maybe decades, to wake up again. Just resisting that soul-thunder burned away half my own soul power.” The Wind-Binding Pearl’s spirit explained.

Evan smiled gently. “Thank you, little sister. Rest easy! When you wake up, I’ll take you all across the world.”

The Wind-Binding Pearl dropped into Evan’s hand, its faint glow vanishing as the spirit fell asleep. He tucked it away in his storage ring.

The burning heat inside him faded now that the Wind-Binding Pearl’s spirit was asleep. Evan glanced over at Luna and asked, “Big Sis Luna, can you really stay outside like this now, instead of going back into my body?”

Luna smiled. “It’s only temporary—I can’t stay out here for long. What, you really want me hanging around outside?”

“Of course! Having a peerless beauty like you by my side every day is a dream come true. My only regret is I still don’t have the power to restore your real body.” Evan admitted.

He reached out to take Luna’s hand, but his fingers passed right through—like touching air. Luna just watched him quietly, not resisting at all.

“How can this be?” Evan blurted out, clearly unable to accept it.

Luna giggled. “You really are silly. If you could touch me, that’d mean I already have a real body. Don’t forget—I’m still a soul-body! Be content, or I’ll go right back into your body and you won’t see me at all.”
