Successful Suppression of the Poison

1/19/2026

In midair, Shadow's body kept flashing with crimson light, and every so often he would let out a roar. This state lasted for almost a full day before gradually fading away.

Shadow had detoxified poison before, and it usually only took an hour or two at most. Now, even after advancing to late God-Lord, it took him a whole day—proof of just how terrifying this Peerless Doom Poison really was. As the glow on his body dimmed, it meant his energy was nearly spent.

Just as Evan Chu expected, Shadow's massive body suddenly dove toward the ground, opened his jaws wide, and sucked up about half of the Violet Cloud Crystals piled below, then shot back into the air.

Blue-Shade God-Venerable was completely stunned. Everyone knew energy crystals had to be absorbed, but this guy just gobbled them down whole. He'd never seen anything like it before—and to eat so many at once! Blue-Shade couldn't help but worry: would Shadow's body explode from all that power?

"Evan, isn't it dangerous for Shadow to swallow so many Violet Cloud Crystals at once?" Blue-Shade God-Venerable asked, worried.

"Relax," Evan said with a laugh. "Shadow is insanely tough—he can absorb any kind of energy, even poison. It's just that this Peerless Doom Poison is way too domineering, and his strength isn't high enough yet. Trust me, he'll be fine. Who knows, maybe after absorbing all those Violet Cloud Crystals, he'll even break through!"

After a while, the crimson light on Shadow's body suddenly surged, as if he was about to dye the whole sky red. At the same time, he let out a sound that was somewhere between excitement and pain, leaving everyone shocked.

"Big bro, the energy in these Violet Cloud Crystals is wild! Swallowing them feels fantastic! I think I'm about to break through!" Shadow's voice echoed down from the sky.

"What a freak—breaking through while saving someone! The world's full of all kinds of birds," Blue-Shade God-Venerable laughed, secretly envious of Evan Chu.

One brother is a Divine Roc, another might evolve into a chaos-beast, and his woman carries the Divine Phoenix Bloodline—these are all heaven-defying existences. The so-called Divine Phoenix Bloodline is that one-in-ten-thousand bloodline among the Phoenix Clan, not just any ordinary phoenix blood. The difference is huge.

"Didn't I say so already? That guy's probably about to break through. If he does, it'll be even better for Elena. Let's just wait and see!" Evan Chu said.

Goldwing just stared quietly at the sky for a while before finally saying, "Every time Shadow breaks through, he falls into a deep sleep. I always envy him for that—when he wakes up, his realm's on another level. Maybe that's the biggest difference between chaos beasts and other divine beasts."

"Old Gold, don't complain. You ascended to the God Realm and became its one and only Divine Roc—you're lucky as hell. Divine Rocs in the late stage are terrifying; even God-Venerables have to back off when they see you. Breaking through is easy for you, and if you need God Stones, I've got plenty. Violet Cloud Crystals too, and the Timewheel Bracelet's environment is top-notch. I bet catching up to Shadow won't be a problem for you." Evan laughed.

Gradually, the light around Shadow faded. He stopped devouring Violet Cloud Crystals and spoke up: "Big Bro, have Old Gold and Blue-Shade step out for a bit. Sis is about to come out, and she might not have any clothes on."

Blue-Shade and Old Gold paused at Shadow's words, then disappeared in a flash. Shadow opened his huge mouth and gently spat out Rainbow Court Mistress Rainveil, letting her drift down to the ground. Then, with a flash of red light, he vanished too.

At that moment, Rainbow Court Mistress Rainveil's eyes were tightly shut—she'd clearly fainted. But Evan knew she'd wake up within an hour or two, and her injuries were already mostly healed.

The rotten flesh had regrown, though a few scars remained. That was just a minor issue—Evan could fix it with some wood element. Looking at this woman who had waited for him for tens of millions of years, he felt a surge of emotion he couldn't put into words.

He used Watershift to carefully wash Elena's body, then used wood element Divine Power to slowly erase her scars. All this took almost two hours. Afterward, he dressed Elena in his own clothes.

After all, Evan couldn't access Elena's storage ring. A late God-Venerable's storage ring has a powerful barrier—even if Evan got hold of it, it would be hard to get his divine sense inside.

Evan sat on the ground, letting Rainbow Court Mistress Rainveil lean against his chest. He waited quietly for her to wake. Half an hour later, she opened her eyes and saw Evan's loving, worried expression. In that moment, all her suffering felt worth it.

"Elena, how do you feel now?" Evan gently stroked her hair and asked in a soft voice.

"Much better. The Divine Power in my body can barely circulate again, and my God Infant's regained some vitality. But I still feel weak all over, like I have no strength." Elena said.

"Take out your own clothes and change. Wearing mine looks a bit weird, and when Shadow and the others come back, they'll definitely tease you." Evan joked.

Elena glanced down at her clothes and realized they were Evan's. Without any shyness, she changed into her own clothes right in front of him. Evan didn't even blink—he just stared straight at her. If Elena were fully recovered and hadn't been hit by that Peerless Doom Poison, he would've lost control right then and there.

But for now, he could only hold back. The heat burning in his lower belly was quickly suppressed. Elena, blushing, shot him a look and said, "Have you stared enough? My body's not ready for that kind of thing, so you'd better behave yourself."

"Elena, that's not what I mean. I'm just happy your poison's under control. Just now, I was appreciating a truly beautiful woman, that's all. When you're fully recovered, I'll definitely battle you for three days and nights!" Evan grinned.

"Flirt! Where's Shadow and the others? Call them over, and ask Shadow about the details of the detoxification." Elena said.

Evan nodded and sent a mental message to Shadow and Old Gold. Within a few breaths, all three appeared before Evan and Elena.

"Shadow, you've worked hard. How's your sister-in-law doing now?" Evan asked eagerly.

"Just like I said before—the poison is locked at her heart-meridian. Only by suppressing it there can I buy the most time. This poison is way too domineering; with my current strength, I can't hold it anywhere else." Shadow replied honestly.
