Busy Day, What Auspicious Occasion Is This

2/14/2026

By the time Serena arrived, the Feng Manor staff had already arranged everything—so smoothly and expertly it was as if they’d done this a hundred times before. Their competence rivaled professional nurses, the only flaw being that the temperature inside the small wooden clinic cabin was still low; stepping in, she was hit by a wave of icy cold.

There was nothing Serena could do about the temperature. No one ever knew when this little cabin would be needed, and it was impossible to keep it warm all the way until midnight, just in case.

When Prince Titus of Lyndaria was carried in, he was so cold he could barely move. The servants could only wrap him in thick quilts and rub his limbs nonstop, trying to get his blood circulating again.

His shadow guard saw Serena approach and hurried up, apologizing: "Miss Feng, I’m sorry."

Tonight’s events weren’t just about waking Serena in the middle of the night. They’d brought her all sorts of unpredictable, hidden dangers.

Serena waved him off. "It’s fine—saving lives comes first. What happened to your prince?"

"My prince’s old condition flared up again." The shadow guard pointed to Prince Titus’s legs. Serena followed his gesture, her brows tightening—how could the prosthetics have failed so soon after all that work?

"No other injuries?" Serena asked, uninterested in the details of how Titus got hurt—she didn’t care and didn’t want to know.

"None," the shadow guard confirmed.

"Got it. You can leave now." Serena dismissed him as soon as she got the answers she needed.
