When the Little Demon Pays a Visit It’s Never Good News
Elder Gideon Skyreach was as sharp as ever. The moment Ian Song explained, he instantly understood: Ian had put the tracking imprint on his avatar to draw the enemy’s attention, while he himself quietly slipped back into the Phoenix Heaven Church.
"Do you have any suspects?" Elder Gideon asked.
Ian hesitated, uncertainty flickering across his face.
"Just say it. As your master, I’ll back you up!" Elder Gideon's expression darkened slightly, as if something had crossed his mind.
Ian felt a surge of warmth. He said seriously, "I might not be that talented, but my innate spiritual sense is strong. Even an Immortal would have a hard time messing with me unless they got close. So, whoever planted the mark must’ve had direct contact. Besides the Fire God Church’s sect-suppressing Immortal, the only Immortals I’ve been close to are the Male Phoenix Line elders and that one Female Phoenix Line elder."
Ian kept his words vague, but the implication was clear—he was suspicious of the Male Phoenix Line elders. The Female Phoenix Line elder was just mentioned to save Elder Gideon some face.
Ian thought Elder Gideon would get angry at his suspicion, but to his surprise, Gideon just nodded, fully agreeing: "You might be onto something. Come with me!"
Soon, Elder Gideon brought Ian to meet the other three elders. Why only three? Because Bloodsun and Marcus Solitude were absent.
"Congratulations, Ian!"
"Gideon, congrats on getting such a good disciple!"
