Unusual Visions at the Birth of the Divine Artifact
"Ding! Congratulations, Host, you have completed the mission. Your reward has been delivered to your Storage Ring. Please check and collect it!"
Hearing the System notification, Ian Song immediately sent his spiritual sense into his Storage Ring. Sure enough, he found a crimson long sword inside. With a grab, the crimson sword fell into his hand.
But just then—
The crimson sword in his hand suddenly burst out with clusters of dazzling red light. The light gathered into a crimson beam, shooting straight into the sky, piercing through the clouds as if stabbing right through the entire Immortal World.
At the same time, a fierce sword pressure spread out, instantly blanketing all of Greenvine City and rapidly sweeping outward in every direction.
"Damn, this divine artifact is way too flashy. It makes such a huge scene just showing up!"
Ian Song couldn't help but twitch his mouth in exasperation.
Just as he was thinking of finding a place to test out the sword's power, six figures flashed by—his six senior brothers and sisters appeared all around him. When they saw the crimson sword in Ian's hand, each of their gazes became burning hot.
Especially Stuart Situ, who couldn't help but exclaim, "Junior brother, is that a divine artifact in your hand?"
"Yeah, how did you know?"
Ian Song nodded and asked.
Stuart Situ said enviously, "Whenever a divine artifact is born, there are always visions. You made such a big scene—I'm not blind, of course I saw it!"
"Not good!"
Kathy Wenren's pretty face suddenly changed. She urged anxiously, "Junior brother, hurry and escape back to Snowgoose City and have Master protect you! Otherwise, Ancestral Immortal powerhouses might come to snatch your divine sword!"
"Really?"
Ian Song cursed inwardly, feeling things were going wrong.
"Would I lie to you? Hurry up! If those Ancestral Immortals arrive, it'll be too late!" Kathy Wenren's expression grew more urgent.
Jenny Gu also warned gravely, "That's right, little junior brother. I heard that when a divine artifact appears, the holy light it gives off can be seen from every corner of the Immortal World. Plus, if a top Ancestral Immortal gets another divine artifact, their power will skyrocket, so I'm sure plenty of Ancestral Immortals are already rushing here!"
"Damn it, the System is screwing me over!"
Ian Song cursed inwardly—why hadn't the System warned him that a divine artifact's birth would cause a vision? If it had, he could've set up restrictions ahead of time to keep the vision from leaking out.
Thinking of this, he told the six, "You should hurry and leave too, so you don't get dragged into this. By the way, how long does this vision usually last?"
"At least an hour!"
Jenny Gu replied.
"Damn!"
Ian Song cursed the System inwardly again. Suddenly, an idea struck him—why not store the divine sword in the Divine Temple?
With that thought, he quickly tossed the divine sword into the Divine Temple.
Sure enough, as soon as the sword disappeared, the vision faded, and the fierce sword pressure covering the area vanished too.
Even so, Ian Song didn't dare stay long.
He quickly gathered all his Profound Immortal subordinates, stored them in the Divine Temple, and led them out of Greenvine City at once.
Less than a quarter hour after Ian Song left Greenvine City—
An old man in green robes suddenly appeared in the sky above Greenvine City. His vast spiritual sense instantly swept over the whole city, but he frowned. "What's going on? The vision clearly came from here, so why did it suddenly vanish? Could it be that what I sensed wasn't actually the birth of a divine artifact?"
From what he knew, even the weakest divine artifact would produce visions for at least an hour, and stronger ones would last even longer.
Why did that vision disappear after just a few dozen breaths?
Out in the wilderness—
A figure flashed by—Ian Song suddenly appeared, now several million li away from Greenvine City. With a thought, he entered the Divine Temple and saw the crimson divine sword had calmed down.
With another thought, he grabbed the divine sword and sent his spiritual sense inside—finding no resistance at all.
Soon, he discovered the core of the sword.
It was a fist-sized mass of crimson light, not yet formed into an artifact spirit, which made it easier for Ian Song to refine.
He dripped a drop of blood onto the light mass, which was instantly absorbed. At once, he felt a flesh-deep connection to the sword. Still, he knew this was only a basic blood-bond—he'd need to keep nourishing it with his immortal yuan force to unlock its true power.
"Right, this sword doesn't have a name yet—I should give it one!"
The blade was crimson, covered in beautiful cloud-like patterns. I'll call it the Scarlet Mist Sword.
The divine sword had a spirit and could sense his intent. The next moment, two mysterious runes appeared near the hilt.
Ian Song didn't recognize the characters, but somehow he just knew—they spelled 'Scarlet Mist.'
The next moment, Ian Song stepped out of the Divine Temple holding the Scarlet Mist Sword—but instantly, a burst of light shot up, turning into a crimson beam that pierced the sky.
"What the hell is going on now?!"
Ian Song was momentarily stunned, but quickly stuffed the Scarlet Mist Sword back into the Divine Temple. While escaping with his Great Teleportation technique, he contacted Old Spirit to ask what was happening.
Old Spirit explained, "In the God Realm, only innate divine artifacts cause visions when they appear. But here in the lower world, a divine artifact is a power that surpasses this realm, so it has to adapt to the world. If you put it in the Divine Temple, the vision disappears; but if you take it out, it returns—unless you wait until it's fully adapted, then the vision will fade for good."
"So that's how it works!"
Ian Song understood, then teleported rapidly in a certain direction.
Less than half an hour after he left that wilderness, several figures appeared in succession.
Each of these figures radiated an awe-inspiring aura. As soon as they arrived, their vast spiritual senses spread out, covering tens of thousands of li—even probing deep underground.
After a while, they all withdrew their senses, a look of confusion flickering across their faces.
The first vision appeared in Greenvine City, but vanished after only a few dozen breaths.
They'd rushed over, only to find nothing.
Just as they were feeling let down, they sensed another vision—this time millions of li away—and it lasted even less, barely a single breath.
By the time they arrived, there was nothing to be found.
"Anyone have any thoughts?"
An elderly Ancestral Immortal asked the others in a deep voice.
A middle-aged Ancestral Immortal mused, "Maybe some Ancestral Immortal already got the divine artifact and used a secret art to suppress the vision. The leak just now was probably an accident."
"Impossible!"
The elderly Ancestral Immortal shook his head. "Even a tenth-layer Ancestral Immortal would struggle to suppress the vision of a divine artifact's birth. If someone was truly above the eleventh layer and had a divine artifact, even a fifteenth-layer Ancestral Immortal couldn't touch him—he wouldn't need to run at all!"
"Then what could it be?"
Hearing the elder's logic, the other Ancestral Immortals all fell into deep thought.
