"Oh! So that's how it is!" Shawn Young suddenly felt a bit sorry for Longhair. He asked himself—if something like this happened to his own family, he'd probably do the same as Longhair: break the law for the sake of martial arts, use mystical powers to get what he desperately needed! Everyone with a story has a soft, fragile spot deep inside that can't be touched.
"Uh—Shawn, looks like Longhair's actually pretty pitiful. Let's not give him a hard time! What are you planning to do now?" Chicken whispered to Shawn Young.
Shawn Young lowered his head, thought for a moment, then suddenly looked up and said to Longhair, "Longhair, I'm giving you a chance to be a good person again!"
"Huh—what? I still have a chance to be a good person? That's... that's impossible, isn't it?" Longhair was clearly shocked.
"That's right. Trust me—if you really want to return to your grandmother with your head held high, just listen to me. I'll give you a chance to start over as a good person!" Shawn Young said.
"But after I joined the Tiger Mafia, I've done so many bad things—fighting, slashing people, gambling, drugs, you name it. My sins are endless. How can I possibly wash all that away?" Longhair still couldn't believe he had a shot at redemption.
"I know, and that's why I'm giving you a chance to atone. I don't think you're hopeless. You're talented, and I admire your filial piety. That's why I want to help you. Otherwise, I'd have just crippled you and wouldn't have wasted my breath! Don't you get it?" Shawn Young reminded him.
"Yeah, that's true. So, hero, what do you want me to do?" Longhair was finally moved.
At that moment, Rainie Cheng walked over and asked Shawn Young, "Shawn, what do you plan to do with this guy? Should we detain him for now? I can notify the police to take care of it!"
"Oh! No need for that. This guy could be really useful to us, and he's not exactly a monster. As long as he's willing to cooperate, I'm planning to give him a chance to turn over a new leaf!" Shawn Young told her.
Then Shawn Young pointed to Rainie Cheng beside him and said to Longhair, "Don't worry, Longhair. This is Senior Interpol Inspector Rainie Cheng. If you cooperate with us, she'll testify for you and you'll get a chance to redeem yourself! Make sure you understand that!"
Rainie Cheng cooperated by taking out her badge and flashing it in front of Longhair, then said, "Your Tiger Mafia is already suspected of organized cross-border crime. That's well within Interpol's jurisdiction, so the Tiger Mafia's downfall is only a matter of time. If you work with us, you'll get a chance to redeem yourself. Otherwise, I can haul you off to jail right now!"
"That's right. Officer Cheng can send you to jail any time. If that happens, your grandmother will have no one to take care of her! Longhair, you need to think carefully!" Shawn Young added, fanning the flames.
"I—I want to cooperate, I'll help! Just tell me what you need me to do!" Longhair struggled internally but made the smart choice.
Shawn Young's expression softened and he smiled, "It's simple. Take me to Goldtooth right now. As long as we catch Goldtooth, you'll have earned a huge merit! That's not so hard, right?"
"Uh—sounds easy, but it's really not! Goldtooth is in a casino in Myanmar right now, negotiating big business with Nick Carter, the drug lord from the Golden Triangle! He won't be coming back anytime soon. If you want to catch him, you'll have to go to Myanmar, and all the guys guarding the casino are armed. Nick Carter is a warlord and a major drug lord over there. If you mess with him, you're in for big trouble!" Longhair's face changed dramatically as he spoke.
"Ah! Nick Carter! That guy's a powerful warlord and drug lord in Myanmar. At Interpol headquarters, his criminal file fills an entire cabinet! He used to be an elite in Thailand's special forces, trained by the UK's SBS, and worked for years as a mercenary. He's ruthless and cold-blooded! Over the years, many of our Interpol colleagues have died at his hands. If we could catch him, he'd be worth way more than Goldtooth. But Myanmar is his turf, and taking him down there is insanely difficult!" Rainie Cheng said, her face serious.
"Hmm? Is that so? Longhair, do you know what big business Goldtooth and Nick Carter are negotiating?" Shawn Young asked Longhair.
"Uh—I'm not totally sure, but it's definitely drug-related. I heard after the Blue Wolf Syndicate in Nanming City got busted, Nick Carter's business took a huge hit. So now he's looking for another channel to bring drugs into China, and Goldtooth wants to expand 'international business.' So their deal has to be about drugs!" Longhair said.
Shawn Young and Rainie Cheng exchanged glances. They both knew Longhair was telling the truth—especially Shawn, who realized he was the one who orchestrated the Blue Wolf Syndicate's downfall. He hadn't expected Nick Carter to look for a new route, but Longhair's reminder made everything click.
"Looks like Goldtooth and Nick Carter are in cahoots now. We'll need to be extra careful with any cross-border plans to capture Goldtooth!" Rainie Cheng said calmly.
Shawn Young fell silent, his mind racing. Suddenly, his phone rang—it was Fiona Tang calling. Shawn quickly answered, "Qianqian, what's up?"
"Oh! Shawn, where are you right now? I—I need your help with something really important. Do you have time?" Fiona Tang sounded urgent.
"I'm back home in Clearview City, busy with some stuff. I might not have much time, but if it's super urgent, just tell me and I'll see if I can make time," Shawn Young replied.
"Here's the thing: we finished the Afghanistan mission, but Jade Swann and her team ran into trouble down south. They've recovered the data, but now they're trapped in Myanmar by enemy experts. Only our Special Abilities Taskforce can get them out! It's an emergency and I can't find anyone else, so I'm asking you for help!" Fiona Tang said anxiously.
"Hmm? Jade Swann? She's so tough—how could she get trapped?" Shawn Young thought of Jade Swann's fiery personality and felt a headache coming on, though he couldn't help but admire her bombshell figure. Especially after that day when he tore her clothes—she was extra tempting.
