------------

At that moment, Yvette Liu and Jenny Choi had already caught up. The instant they saw the two blood-drained corpses, they screamed in terror.

Before their screams even ended, two sharp barks echoed from the direction of Ridgeview Country Estate, followed by the sound of a door being smashed, and then a terrified, shrill cry—"Waa—ah—!"

"Uh! That's Jack Jiang's voice! Something's happened to that guy—" Shawn Young immediately recognized who it was.

Jenny Choi's face changed dramatically and she exclaimed, "He—he's been hiding in my family's bathroom all this time, and right behind that bathroom is the river—"

"Ah! We have to hurry back—Jack Jiang might've been attacked by that escaped Ghoul! If we're too late, he's done for!" Shawn Young said.

"Hmph! Someone like him, getting eaten by a Ghoul would save us a lot of trouble!" Yvette Liu said.

Shawn Young quickly explained, "No, that's not the problem. If that Ghoul gets enough fresh blood, it'll evolve! It'll become way harder to deal with!"

"What?! That monster can evolve?! Oh my god—it's already scary enough, what could it possibly turn into?" Jenny Choi asked in terror.

"It'll evolve into a monster called a 'Chibaku'! Ugh, no time for details—let's hurry back! Who knows what's happening over there now—" Shawn Young said as he sprinted toward Ridgeview Country Estate, with the two girls frantically chasing after him.

They quickly rushed into Ridgeview Country Estate, and were immediately met by Sam Choi and his wife, both trembling in fear, gripping broken hoes and iron shovels as they stood outside the bathroom with a gaping hole smashed in its wall. Meanwhile, groggy rich kids and their girlfriends poked their heads out from the surrounding guest rooms, anxiously peering over, still clueless about what was going on.

Shawn Young hurried into the wrecked bathroom. Jack Jiang, who had been hiding inside, was nowhere to be found. Glancing down, he saw torn fabric from a struggle, scraps of flesh, and smeared blood on the floor. Inspecting the hole in the wall, Shawn spotted something odd wedged into the edge—a triangular, grayish-white, horn-like object, tough and flexible, its tip shaped into a sharp hook.

Shawn Young sniffed it and caught a faint whiff of blood. He was startled and muttered to himself, "Damn! Claws as fierce as a wild beast! This thing's starting to evolve! We're in deep trouble now!"

Just then, Sam Choi and his wife nervously approached. Sam said, "Sir—just now, Young Master Jiang was snatched away by a Water Monkey! That thing was crazy strong! My wife and I tried to fight it off, and we almost got dragged away too! Its strength is unreal—"

His wife, shaking, added, "Yeah! That Water Monkey swung its arm and snapped the hoe in half! So scary—how could something like that just show up out of nowhere?!"

Shawn Young realized they'd mistaken the escaped Ghoul for a legendary southern water monster—a Water Monkey. He shook his head and said, "That's not a Water Monkey. It's something way nastier! We need to get ready, no matter what. If it gets enough blood, everyone and everything around here is doomed!"

"Ah! Sir—you mean it's not a Water Monkey? Then what is it?! Nothing like this has ever happened here before! What did we do to deserve all this? And now Young Master Jiang's been dragged off by a monster—oh god!" Sam Choi was terrified, totally at a loss. He was especially worried about being blamed if anything happened to Jack Jiang on his property.

"Now's not the time to panic. What's done is done, so let's get ready! I'll figure out a way to lure that thing out! If we move fast, maybe we can save that Jiang kid!" Shawn Young said.

"Ah! Sir, if you've got a plan, that's great! Just tell us what you need, we'll do whatever it takes!" Sam Choi clung to Shawn Young like a lifeline.

"Where are the burial grounds for the nearby villages? That thing is most likely hiding there," Shawn Young said.

Sam Choi quickly said, "Oh, if you follow this river downstream for about two kilometers, there's Bamboo Dragon Hill. Before liberation, feng shui masters surveyed it and declared it a rare treasure spot, so that's where the village burial grounds are. Most of our ancestors are buried around Bamboo Dragon Hill."

"Good! Let's get ready now. Tomorrow in the daytime, we'll try to locate that thing's hiding spot, and at night we'll lure it out and wipe it out!" Shawn Young nodded.

"Uh—sir, can't we go look for the monster now? I'm just worried if we're too late, Young Master Jiang might get—eaten!" Sam Choi's wife asked nervously.

"We probably don't need to worry just yet. That thing just drained two people and is still digesting and evolving. Even if it wants to suck Young Master Jack's blood, it'll have to finish a stage of its evolution first!" Shawn Young explained.

"I see! But, will it kill Young Master Jack?" Sam Choi still asked, worried.

"It shouldn't. This thing has a habit—it only drinks fresh blood from living creatures, and it loves those that struggle violently. When people or animals panic and fight, their hearts race, pumping blood to the neck and head, making it extra tasty. It prefers blood that's fresh and strong! Since Young Master Jack got dragged off, he's probably knocked out, so his blood isn't as tempting right now—but having his arms and legs broken so he can't escape is pretty normal. Anyway, let's keep getting ready!" Shawn Young said.

"Oh, that's good. So, sir, what do we need to prepare?" Sam Choi asked.

Shawn Young thought for a moment and said, "This thing is super sneaky—it's almost impossible to find at night. So we'll check out the burial grounds during the day to figure out where it's hiding. Then you guys get a few live animals ready, and at night, follow my instructions to lure it out. I'll take care of the rest!"

"Alright! Got it! Thank you, sir—" Sam Choi said gratefully.

Just then, Shawn Young's stomach growled—"Grrr—". Turns out, after so many rounds of action with Yvette Liu in the SUV, his powers had shot up, but he'd burned through a ton of energy, so now he was feeling hungry.

Jenny Choi immediately said, "Sir, you're hungry, you've worked hard! I'll whip up a few dishes for you and your girlfriend right away!"

Shawn Young glanced up at the sky—it'd be dawn soon. He nodded and said, "Great! Sorry to trouble you. Gotta eat before we get to work! Haha—"
