First Display of the Beast-Taming Seal

"Catch her!"

The two brothers shouted almost at the same time, then launched themselves toward Princess Nissa, shooting through the air from both sides.

Princess Nissa was still laughing triumphantly when the two brothers closed in from front and back, trapping her in the middle before she could react.

"What are you trying to do?"

Princess Nissa's laughter froze. Seeing the two men staring at her with burning eyes, she couldn't help but feel a sense of foreboding.

"Do it!"

The two brothers didn't understand Princess Nissa's words at all. They lunged at her from both sides at once.

"Bastards, damn natives, how dare you... Ah!"

Both youths grabbed Princess Nissa's shoulders at almost the same time, using considerable force—she cried out in pain.

"Huh? That's odd—how can a Martial Soul have a physical body?"

Even these two brothers, no matter how clueless, knew that Martial Souls existed only as spiritual entities.

'Senior brother, did we make a mistake?' the junior said, disappointed.

The senior brother realized his mistake, feeling both disappointed and angry. He vented his frustration on Princess Nissa, shouting: 'Damn it, how dare you trick us by taking on this form? Who exactly are you?'

I'm the princess of the Moon-God people! You two natives, let me go at once!

Princess Nissa could understand their words, but couldn't speak their language, so she could only scold them in her interstellar tongue.

Senior brother, look—she looks almost human, but her ears are like a cat's and her hair is green. Do you think she might be a Devil spy hiding among us?' the junior said after scrutinizing Princess Nissa.

Definitely a Devil spy!' the senior brother nodded firmly, then shouted at Princess Nissa: 'Damn Devil spy, how dare you deceive us! Tell us your purpose, or I'll kill you!'

You two bastard natives, I'm not a Devil! Let me go!' Princess Nissa shouted as she struggled.

'Senior brother, it seems this Devil spy is just pretending to be dumb. What should we do with her?' the junior asked.

'What else can we do? Naturally, we kill her and be done with it!' the senior brother said viciously.

'No, I'm really not a spy!'

Princess Nissa was almost in tears.

Not far away, Ian Song and Harriet Gu stood side by side, watching the terrified Princess Nissa. Harriet couldn't help but laugh: 'Ian, look, she's almost crying. Shouldn't we step in and stop those two?'

'No need. Let her suffer a bit more so she'll learn her lesson,' Ian said with a smile.

Meanwhile...

The junior nodded at the senior's suggestion: 'Alright, let's do as you say. Will you do it, or should I?'

'You do it,' the senior said.

'Alright! Devil spy, go to hell!'

The junior shouted, raising his palm to strike at Princess Nissa's head. Just then, a figure flashed by, pulling Nissa back so the palm hit only empty air with a loud bang.

Having just escaped death, Princess Nissa was terrified. Seeing Ian, she leaped into his arms, crying: 'You jerk, why did you come so late? These two almost killed me!'

Feeling Nissa's chest pressing against his own, Ian was speechless. He realized that while she was foolish, her figure was quite impressive. But with Harriet nearby, he quickly pushed her away and said coldly: 'I warned you not to run off. Who's to blame for this?'

I... I don't care. Anyway, these two scared me. You have to teach them a lesson!

Ian ignored Nissa and cupped his fists to the two brothers: 'Gentlemen, I'm Leon Huang from Sanctum Martial Academy. This is my barbarian female slave, not a Devil spy. Please give me some face and let this go.'

Hearing Ian was from Sanctum, the two young men became serious. The senior brother quickly replied, 'So you're Brother Huang. It's all good, just a misunderstanding. Please forgive us!'

After some brief pleasantries, both sides went their separate ways.

Princess Nissa was quite unhappy, since Ian not only called her a barbarian, but also described a dignified princess as a slave.

However, after what just happened, she became much more cautious and didn't dare lose her temper, having realized how dangerous the natives here were.

After that, Ian and his companions resumed their search for Martial Souls.

After cultivating the meditation formula, Harriet Gu's mental power had recovered over ninety percent. Ian, though he had practiced for a shorter time, was naturally strong, so his mental power had fully recovered.

Unknowingly, Ian and Harriet had already spent two days in the Martial Soul Hall. Maybe their luck had run out, since after finding the Spirit Rabbit Beast, they hadn't found another Martial Soul.

Ian wasn't in a hurry about this.

He simply treated this Martial Soul hunt as a sightseeing trip.

Although Princess Nissa from the Moon-God people was a bit of a ditz, it couldn't be denied that, aside from her green hair and pointed ears, she was extremely beautiful—almost on par with Harriet Gu.

So, traveling with two top-tier beauties was actually quite enjoyable.

Finally, on the third day, Ian discovered another Martial Soul.

This Martial Soul looked like a mushroom. Using the Omniversal God-Eye, Ian saw it was a plant-type Martial Soul of common grade. Fusing it would allow the host to cultivate spiritual mushrooms—delicious, full of spiritual qi, and a single one could keep an ordinary person from feeling hungry for three days and nights.

It was a rather chicken-rib Martial Soul, so Ian had no intention of fusing it.

As for Harriet Gu, she'd already fused two Martial Souls—her mental power couldn't support a third.

After all, once fused, Martial Souls grow by feeding on their host's mental power.

'Are we just going to give up?'

Ian just couldn't bring himself to let it go.

Suddenly, Ian remembered a divine ability he'd never used—the Beast-Taming Seal.

Martial Souls might be spiritual entities, but they still counted as beast-type lifeforms. Maybe the Beast-Taming Seal could capture them.

'Let's give it a try!'

Thinking this, Ian hurriedly activated the Beast-Taming Seal.

With a swoosh, a golden seal character appeared in the air and shot toward the Spirit Mushroom Beast.

'Buzz!'

A flash of light passed, and Ian immediately sensed a tight new bond between himself and the Spirit Mushroom Beast.

'Inside!'

Ian opened the entrance to his Divine Temple, and the Spirit Mushroom Beast, obeying his order, jumped right in.

'Ha!'

Seeing he'd successfully stored the Spirit Mushroom Beast, Ian couldn't help but laugh joyfully. Once he left the Martial Soul Hall, he could give this Martial Soul to someone else to fuse.
