Miles Gu's Obsession with Yina

1/4/2026

Kevin Grant's expression changed slightly, then he grew nervous and asked, "Is it about Nina...?"

"She didn't say anything. I'm just asking for myself." Cherry Miller replied calmly, "My questions only represent me, not anyone else."

Hearing Cherry Miller say this, Kevin Grant's expression finally eased a little.

"Let me tell you a story about the Grant Family," Cherry Miller sighed. "Let's start with the previous generation, Nina's grandfather. The men of the Grant Family are all hopeless romantics—passionate, yet ruthless. Back then, Old Mr. Grant..."

Cherry Miller picked out some stories about Howard Grant and Vivian Jiang and shared them with Kevin Grant.

Cherry Miller had only heard these things from her mother. They're not complete, but it's enough.

"Back then, Old Mr. Yin gave all his love to that woman, and after that, he couldn't love anyone else. Later, for various reasons, he married the eldest daughter of the Jiang Family—Vivian Jiang, the chairman's mother. After their son was born, he made that choice. To that woman, it was unwavering devotion, but to everyone else, it was truly heartless."

"It was the same with the chairman's generation. The love story between the chairman and his wife was legendary—it dominated the trending topics for ages. If you ask your family, your uncle and aunt could probably talk for three days and nights about their romance."

Seeing Gavin Gao's unchanged expression, Cherry Miller continued, "Now, it's our generation. No one knows Ethan Yin's personality better than me. So when my mother's scandal broke out, his first instinct was to protect me, not abandon me. I was moved and happy—his devotion was all for me, and I got lucky. But for others, it might seem ruthless. Because apart from me, he can't see any other woman. Does that make sense?"

"I think I understand what you're trying to say," Kevin Grant replied, feeling a bit down. "You mean, Nina might not be a man, but her personality is just like one. She treats love the same way, right? You're saying Nina gave all her love to Miles Grant, so even if they're no longer engaged, she can't fall for anyone else, is that it?"

Cherry Miller let out a long sigh.

That’s exactly what she meant, but she just couldn’t bring herself to say it.

Nina Grant really isn’t the type to fall in love with someone else so easily.

"Cherry," Kevin Grant said, looking dejected, his voice low as he softly added, "Thank you for telling me all this."

Cherry Miller sighed again.

"Still, I don’t want to give up." Kevin Grant suddenly looked up at Cherry Miller, clenching his fists. "When I first fell for Nina, I knew I didn’t stand a chance. She was Miles Grant’s fiancée—I had zero hope. But so what? If love could be controlled, would it still be love?"

"Even when I had no chance at all, I never changed my mind. Now that there’s a little hope, how could I possibly give up? Like you said, Mr. Grant and Aunt Gu’s love was so passionate, but I also saw Mr. Mo’s devotion to Aunt Gu. If Nina accepts me, I’ll do everything I can to be good to her. If she doesn’t choose me, I want to be like Mr. Mo—always there for her. I know I’m not worthy to be compared to Mr. Mo, but my heart is just as true." Kevin Grant said firmly.

"But that’s not fair to you," Cherry said, clearly disagreeing.

"Where is there fairness in this world?" Kevin Grant suddenly smiled, though his smile was a little forced. "But I’m willing."

Cherry Miller understood.

In this world, a thousand words can't compete with a single 'I'm willing.'

"Thank you for telling me all this," Gavin Gao said. "This is the path I chose, and no matter how hard it gets, I'll keep going."

"Alright," Cherry Miller nodded. "I get what you mean. All I can say is—good luck."

"Yeah, I will," Gavin Gao nodded vigorously.

While the two of them were talking, they didn’t notice someone sitting behind a money tree, lost in thought, overhearing their conversation.

After Cherry Miller and Gavin Gao left, that person finally stood up and straightened their posture.

"Yina still likes me?" His face lit up with surprise. "I knew it! Even if we broke off the engagement, deep down, she still has feelings for me!"

That person was none other than Miles Gu, who had just broken off his engagement with Yina Yin.

Normally, after the engagement was officially ended, Miles Gu should have left with Earl Field.

However, Miles Gu didn’t go back. He chose to stay.

When Earl Field left, the look he gave Miles Gu was full of meaning.

Earl Field didn’t say anything—he had more important things to deal with.

With so many fools in the family, he had to go back and clean house.

As for Miles Gu, he’d have to fend for himself.

As far as Sunset Manor was concerned, whether Miles Gu left or stayed didn’t really make much difference.

In fact, from Ethan Yin’s perspective, it was better if Miles Gu stayed—it made it easier to handle certain things.

So, Miles Gu just naturally stayed on.

The conversation between Cherry Miller and Gavin Gao gave Miles Gu, who had nearly lost all hope, a glimmer of life.

Cherry Miller made it perfectly clear—Yina Yin had never stopped loving him.

Even if he was the second persona, he was still a part of Miles Gu.

As long as he tried hard enough, who said he couldn’t replace the primary persona?

Miles Gu’s second persona suddenly regained his confidence.

He secretly vowed to pursue Yina Yin again. Once he’d tamed the fanatics in the Field Family and brought the head steward under control, he’d marry Yina Yin!

So, that afternoon, wherever Yina Yin went, Miles Gu showed up.

No matter if Yina Yin went to work out, graft flowers, or read, Miles Gu was always right there, shadowing her.

"Miles Gu, what are you trying to do?" Yina Yin crossed her arms and gave him a displeased look. "We’re already broken off. You can go pursue whoever you want."

"The person I want to pursue is you." Miles Gu’s answer made Yina Yin scoff.

"Let me say it again. The Miles Gu I like is the primary persona, not you right now." Yina Yin said calmly, "It was true before, it’s true now, and it will be true in the future. Unless you give up control and let the primary persona come back, I won’t accept you."

"Why do you have to make such a big deal about the difference between the primary persona and me? Aren’t we both Miles Gu?" Miles Gu said, "I’m not worse than the primary persona. In fact, I’ll be even better, more outstanding, and love you more!"

"Doesn't matter—I don't like you." Yina Yin said bluntly, "No matter how much you pester me, it won't work. I'm not the kind of person who gives in just because someone won't leave me alone. I have my own mind, I'm not a doll. You can stop with these confusing tricks. Please don't disturb my life. Otherwise, I won't hesitate to tell my parents and have you sent back to England."

A flash of defeat crossed Miles Gu’s red eyes.

"Yina, I really know I was wrong," Miles Gu tried to plead.

"It's useless," Yina Yin said coldly. "I don't care."

Miles Gu wanted to say more, but Winston Fan's voice came from behind: "Sorry, I didn't mean to eavesdrop. I'm just here to remind you both that dinner is about to start. Chairman Yin and Cici are waiting downstairs. Are you sure you want to keep talking?"

Hearing that Charles Yin and Cecilia Gu had returned, Yina Yin ignored Miles Gu and nodded to Winston Fan, saying, "Thank you for the reminder."

With that, Yina Yin turned and left.

Winston Fan gave Miles Gu a meaningful look, then left together with Yina Yin.

"Sorry about that," Yina Yin said to Winston Fan. "Sorry you had to witness that."

"No worries," Winston Fan replied simply. "You're a victim too."
