Transformation into Immortal Love Hex
Grace was silent for a moment, then asked Joanna Zuo, "Does he have any other family?"
Joanna Zuo shook her head.
"Then let's bury him."
Joanna Zuo nodded.
"Shan'er, could you please find a nice spot nearby for his grave?" Grace said.
Shan'er nodded and left with them.
Jun Lionhead narrowed his eyes at the man lying on the bed, then waved his sleeve over him.
Slowly, a flash of red light appeared on the man's chest.
A tiny red worm was drawn out by Jun Lionhead's mystical power.
"Ha!" Jun Lionhead chuckled. "Quite the stroke of luck. I only meant to test the Ten Wilds Herbal Codex on you, but you’re about to evolve into an Immortal Love Hex. A thousand-year rarity! And it was me who accidentally nurtured you."
The little worm trembled, clearly terrified of Jun Lionhead.
With a sweep of his sleeve, Jun Lionhead made the Immortal Love Hex vanish into his robe.
Just then, someone suddenly appeared in the room, bowing his head. "Divine Master, whether it's the Winterbane poison or the Immortal Love Hex, only Luke Kee can cure them. She has inherited Luke Kee's legacy, no doubt about it. When should we make our move?"
Jun Lionhead glanced at him and said, "No rush."
"What are you waiting for, Divine Master?"
"A mystery," Jun Lionhead replied. "I'll act once I've solved it. You may leave now—and don't come looking for me again."
"Yes, sir." The man dissolved into a wisp of smoke and disappeared.
......
After Mr. Grant was buried, dusk had already fallen, and everyone went home.
Grace was riding home when she ran into Tenner.
He said he'd gone to the Spirit Alliance to look for her, but couldn't find anyone.
"Did something happen at home?" Grace asked.
"Princess Maya Summers has finished her closed-door training!" Tenner grinned.
"Did she break through?"
"She reached the sixth tier!" Tenner said. "Madam is over the moon—she wants you and General Evan Shaw to come home tonight for a big family dinner."
"Great!" Grace happily headed back to the mansion.
Ever since Maya Summers arrived in Yan City, she’d been cultivating hard in seclusion, taking advantage of the rich spiritual energy here. Grace hadn’t seen her in months.
Now, she’d finally made a breakthrough.
When Grace got home, Evan Xiao was already there, chatting with her grandfather, her father, her second uncle, and her eldest brother.
When she walked in, everyone looked her way. Jason Zhuo said something, and they all burst out laughing.
She couldn’t shake the feeling they were teasing her and Evan Xiao. Grace blushed, bit her lip, and slipped away to join the women’s group.
Maya Summers was sitting and chatting with Aunt Leah.
Ms. Liu and Queenie Zhu were there too.
Aunt Leah looked sympathetic. "Poor Rona Zhu. Who knows what she’s been through—she’s just vanished, neither alive nor dead..."
"Let’s hope she’s still alive," Aunt Leah sighed.
"I still think there’s something fishy about all this," Queenie Zhu said. "Grandma, did you ask Grace? She probably knows more than any of us."
"You think I should know something?" Grace walked over.
Queenie Zhu glanced at her. "You two were always together. You know her better than anyone, right?"
"Yeah, but she disappeared so suddenly—I have no idea where she went," Grace said.
Seeing Evan Xiao at the family dinner today had Queenie Zhu feeling sour again. She couldn’t help but add a jab: "Weren’t you two best friends growing up? She even came to you for help. But now she’s missing, and you don’t seem worried at all?"
