Grace Thinks She's a Freak

12/19/2025

Can someone please tell her what on earth just happened?

Could it be that her experience from living a second life has made her especially skilled?

Or maybe her talent has reached some kind of freakishly abnormal level?

After marveling and puzzling for a good while, she decided to keep cultivating and see what happens.

So she continued to absorb spiritual energy into her body.

Spiritual energy kept pouring into her like crazy—not just from the Zhu Estate, but from all around it, and even from the whole of Danyang City—all rushing toward her...

The spiritual energy gathered like a river, flowing through her meridians, finally transforming into her own source power, accumulating in her dantian...

Two hours later, she was left dumbfounded once again.

She actually broke through again!

She'd become a second-rank Spirit Practitioner.

Are you kidding me?

In her previous life, it took her two whole years to get from first rank to second!

But now, just two hours...

She stared blankly for a long time, then kept on cultivating...

On the path of cultivation, every rank is exponentially harder than the last.

But by dawn, she'd already broken through to the third rank.

Grace Wan spent forty years cultivating and only made it to third-rank Spirit Practitioner. And here she was, reaching third rank in just one night!

Grace felt like she was some kind of freak...

No, she had to hurry and test her Spirit Root!

Just what kind of Spirit Root could make cultivation this fast?

She sprang out of bed, called Hope in, and asked her to fetch water for washing up.

But as soon as Hope saw her, she stared wide-eyed and cried out, "Miss, what happened to you? You're so dirty!"

Grace raised her hand and looked—her skin was covered in a layer of black grime.

That was the impurity pushed out of her body when she broke through to the third rank, during the cleansing of her marrow and bones.

She made a shushing gesture and told Claire to bring a bucket of bathwater.

While scrubbing her, Claire asked in surprise, "Miss, why are you so dirty?"

"Miss, how did your skin get so nice?"

"Wow! It's practically crystal clear, so smooth and soft! And it smells so good, too!"

...

Grace grinned at her, waved her over, and whispered, "I've grown a Spirit Root. Last night, I broke through to third rank Spirit Practitioner."

Claire was frozen in place, her mouth hanging open for ages.

"Aside from Nanny and Hope, don't tell anyone yet!" Grace said. "It's a secret!"

"B-but why?" Claire asked. "If Prime Minister Zhu and Madam knew, they'd be thrilled!"

"It's not the right time yet," Grace said. "Just keep it secret for now!"

Growing a Spirit Root again was obviously a good thing.

If her parents found out, they'd probably be over the moon.

But until the selection event is resolved, she absolutely couldn't let it slip.

Because the Celestial Five-Element Root is incredibly rare in the Blue Moon Kingdom.

In all of history, there have only been one or two people with it!

If word got out, the royal family would never let her go!

They'd surely make her enter the palace as a consort, maybe even crown her Empress.

In other words, her fate of entering the palace would be even more irreversible...

"Oh! Okay! I'll go find Hope!" Claire was oddly excited and dashed off to find Hope and Nanny, forgetting all about helping her get dressed.

Grace smiled and shook her head, dressed herself, and went to check her reflection in the mirror.

She really did look like a porcelain doll—radiant, delicate, light as a feather, and absolutely stunning.

And... breathtakingly beautiful...

Images from that night flashed through her mind.

Evan Xiao lay over her, kissing her skin.
