Poisoned

Compared to the Pristine Way Sect’s library, the collection at Sanctum Martial Academy is richer and more comprehensive, and even includes many cultivation notes. Reading through them, Ian Song has benefited greatly.

Ian didn’t pay much attention to the challenge three days from now, so whenever he had free time, he would head to the academy’s library to read.

The techniques and martial arts in this world all focus mainly on offensive power.

After reaching Grandmaster, one can condense a domain; once one becomes a Great Grandmaster, the main focus shifts to cultivating the soul.

To break through to Martial Saint, you need to fuse your soul and domain together.

Just then, a green-clad girl brushed past him, and a faint fragrance wafted past.

The second floor of the library requires contribution points—one point per hour.

The third floor also requires contribution points—ten points per hour.

Additionally, books from the first floor can be checked out, but those from the second and third floors cannot.

Now that Ian has reached the ninth layer of Qi-Refining, it’s time to consider how to advance to the Grandmaster realm.

After reading over a hundred Grandmaster cultivation notes, he summarized two methods for breaking through: one is to refine your true qi to the utmost, so you naturally advance to Grandmaster; the other is to comprehend a domain—once you form a domain, it will feed back into your body and help you break through.

Leon Huang, what are you doing? Why are you barging into my room?" Tim Wang demanded, sounding a little guilty.

Why is it incomplete? Because every person’s domain has certain attributes. For example, if a cultivator trains in fire techniques, their domain will almost always have fire properties—they absolutely won’t be able to form a water-attribute domain.

Immersed in reading and reflection, time flew by. Before he knew it, night had already fallen outside.

After putting the cultivation notes back on the shelf, Ian got up to head back to his dorm.

Just then, a green-clad girl brushed past him, a faint fragrance drifting into his nose.

Leaving the library, Ian went to a quiet spot, took out a crumpled paper ball, and opened it. Inside were two elegant characters: “Be careful.”

That paper ball was slipped into his hand by the green-clad girl who’d brushed past him.

Looking at the words 'Be careful,' Ian frowned slightly, feeling a bit confused. Was someone planning to harm him?

Back at the dorm.

Ian picked up the water jug and poured himself a glass. After just one sip, he immediately sensed something was wrong.

As soon as the water entered his stomach, he noticed his true qi starting to disperse. Clearly, there was something wrong with the water in the jug.

He didn’t immediately activate Radiance of Life to neutralize the toxin in his body. Instead, he quietly observed its effects.

His true qi kept dispersing. After an hour, at least one percent had dissolved. At this rate, in ten days, all of his true qi would be gone.

A cold smirk appeared on his lips as Liam Liang’s face flashed through his mind.

Could it be that Liam Liang was behind the poison? And the girl who slipped him the paper ball was obviously warning him he’d been poisoned!

With a thought, he activated Radiance of Life. In a single breath, the toxin was completely purged, and his true qi stopped dispersing.

At the same time, Ian opened Clairvoyant Vision and scanned Tim Wang and Mason Zhang’s rooms.

He suspected Liam Liang ordered someone to poison him, but the actual culprits might be different. The only ones likely to have entered his room to do it were Tim Wang and Mason Zhang.

After a while, Ian withdrew his Clairvoyant Vision, strode straight to Tim Wang’s room, and kicked open the door.

The two people inside were instantly startled.

“Leon Huang, what are you doing? Why are you barging into my room?” Tim Wang demanded, sounding a little guilty.

Ian couldn’t be bothered to argue. He reached out, grabbed Tim Wang by the throat, and slapped him with his other hand.

Slap! Slap! Slap!

A string of crisp slaps rang out.

“Stop it!”

Seeing this, Mason Zhang suddenly lunged forward, throwing a punch at Ian’s back.

Bang!

Ian spun and kicked, landing a blow squarely on Mason Zhang’s abdomen. Mason groaned and was sent flying into the wall.

“You bastards, you actually dared to poison me? You must have a death wish! Tell me—who ordered you to do it?”

Ian slapped Tim Wang a few more times, then threw him to the ground and interrogated him.

“Don’t make stuff up! We didn’t poison anyone!” Tim Wang retorted, trying to argue.

“I’ll give you one chance. Name the person who ordered you!” Ian swept a cold gaze over the two, making them tremble in fear.

Tim Wang wiped blood from his mouth, gritting his teeth. “Don’t accuse innocent people. Sure, we’ve got a grudge, but we wouldn’t stoop to poisoning you. Besides, do you have any proof we did it?”

Hearing this, Ian secretly shook his head and looked at Mason Zhang, who was getting up from the floor. “What about you? Still won’t tell the truth?”

Mason Zhang’s eyes flickered, but he tried to sound tough. “You attacked us with no evidence. I’m reporting this to the academy—they’ll punish you!”

“You really don’t know what’s good for you! If that’s how you want it…”

Before he finished speaking, Ian stepped forward, poked Mason Zhang between the brows, then did the same to Tim Wang.

That’s right—he used Puppet Mastery Divine Art to enslave both of them. He hadn’t wanted to go this far since they were all Sanctum Martial Academy students, but these two just wouldn’t admit anything, so he had no choice.

Both of them were also at the ninth layer of Qi-Refining, but their spiritual power was weak. In just one second, Puppet Mastery Divine Art had enslaved them.

“Tim Wang greets his master!”

“Mason Zhang greets his master!”

Both of them knelt on the ground at the same time.

Ian didn’t let them get up. He asked, “Who ordered you to poison me?”

“Master, it was Logan Wu who ordered us!” they answered in unison.

“Logan Wu?!”

Ian was momentarily stunned. He’d thought Liam Liang was behind it, but it turned out to be Logan Wu.

He asked himself—he had no grudge against Logan Wu, so why would Logan target him?

Could it be that he was afraid I’d beat him and take his ranking, so he tried to get rid of me first?
