Seeing Mr. Brown still alive, I felt a surge of emotion. Joy welled up inside me, but many of the Green Wraiths I knew were missing, which left me puzzled.
"Roxie, those guys have all been sent out to the other realms of Hell to negotiate with the local living authorities. We're planning to consolidate all the factions in Hell and directly connect the Eight Realms of Hell. After all, if we let things go like before, new ghosts might emerge in hidden corners and start collaborating with the Emperor God again."
I nodded, but sensed a heavy atmosphere in the room. The source was the Asura King, who slowly drifted over, drawing the attention of many Green Wraiths.
"Ksitigarbha is gone. Hmph, the world is vast—we can go wherever we want!"
The Asura King spoke with absolute conviction, but Isabelle Frost immediately shook her head.
"I am now the ruler of Hell. Without my command, none of you are allowed to take a single step outside Hell."
A burst of furious laughter erupted from the Asura King's three heads, all three glaring at Isabelle Frost at once.
"Little girl, you're not qualified. Even though you've inherited the threshold techniques of reincarnation, you're still not fit to be the ruler. At best, you're just a ferryman guiding lost souls."
The Asura King looked at Isabelle Frost with disdain. Many Green Wraiths began to release their ghostly aura, and the Asura King swept his gaze around the room.
"You? Are you looking for a fight?"
I hurried over, but my mom immediately grabbed me. I turned my head to look at her.
"I know what I'm doing, Mom."
A surge of anger rose from deep within me, and I strode forward.
"Save your strength. If you really want to fight, this place will turn into a battlefield in an instant. If you're certain of victory, go ahead and try. Our Asura Realm has already broken free from Ksitigarbha's restraints. Is there anyone left in this world who can challenge us?"
Watching the Asura King laugh wildly, I stepped forward.
"The war has just ended. What are you trying to do?"
I asked, and the Asura King lowered his head to glance at me.
"Rachel Lan, I don't want anything. It's just that we've been trapped in Hell for so many years, imprisoned for so long. Isn't it time we were liberated? Or do you want to start another war?"
Looking at this belligerent figure, I smiled.
"If you really want to fight, I'll oblige—but only if you can defeat me."
As soon as I finished speaking, my mom and two Underworld Agents hurried over. The Asura King gazed at me in silence.
"Are you serious, Rachel Lan?"
I glared at the Asura King.
"If anyone dares to disrupt the peace of this world again, I won't let them off lightly—even if it's you. This world has already endured too much suffering. We've finally solved a huge crisis, and now you want to stir things up again? If you truly want to fight, I'll oblige."
I spoke gravely, clenching my fists. After a moment of silence, the Asura King nodded.
"Let's say our Asura Realm owes Ethan Zhang a favor. But if we're forced to stay in Hell forever, then everything here..."
"It's not that you have to stay in Hell forever. In the past, Hell's Registrars needed a token from Yama to go about their duties, and it's the same for you. If you want to enter the Living World, you must find a way to restrain your own power, so it won't affect the Living World."
The Asura King nodded, his furious aura subsiding a bit. I turned to look at Isabelle Frost.
"Is that acceptable, Miss Yi?"
Isabelle Frost nodded. At that moment, Deathcurse stepped out from among the Green Wraiths.
"I can handle this for you. I'll craft items imbued with curse energy to suppress your Asura power. That way, you won't be able to bring most of your strength into the Yang Realm. And if you find yourselves with nothing to do, you might as well help rebuild Hell."
The Asura King said nothing, simply staring at me in silence.
"Miss Yi, what's really going on with reincarnation? If you need my help, just say the word."
Isabelle Frost looked at me, a hint of surprise in her eyes.
"Over there."
Soon, we arrived at a place lined with stone tables. We sat down, and I saw Quentin Kue and three other Hell Judges approaching.
Isabelle Frost began to explain. In the past, if a lost soul wanted to reincarnate, they had to drink Lady Meng's Elixir, forgetting everything, then enter the Pit of Reincarnation and merge into the Soulwashing Waters. Afterwards, they'd linger briefly by the River of Forgetfulness, where the purpose of their next life would flicker into vision. Then they'd enter the river again, heading toward the Sixfold Cycle.
Hell had always been overcrowded, but now everything is different. Countless ghosts have turned to dust, drifting into the Yin Aspect world.
Now the Sixfold Cycle is broken, and the passage of reincarnation has been severed. No souls can be reborn. But Isabelle Frost can use her Spirit Realm power to forge a new passage—from the far shore of death to the bank of new life.
But the problem is, souls can no longer be cleansed, and Lady Meng's Elixir has run out of ingredients.
