Ten Wilds Continent
"Oh... is that so..." Grace looked at them. "It's not that I don't believe you, it's just a bit... mystical."
"Hehe..." Bianca Whitefan laughed awkwardly. "My master is really accurate at divination."
"Alright, I'll trust you for now. But since you went to all this trouble and finally found my mother, why do you all look so glum?"
They look even sadder than before they found her.
"Sigh! Lady Vivian only has one year left to live, and my master's prophecy about the disaster won't happen for several years yet. How can we be happy about that?" Bianca shook her head.
"I see!" Grace nodded sadly.
"Is there really no cure for the Winterbane poison?" Evan Xiao frowned and asked Leon Zane.
Leon Zane shook his head decisively.
Grace said, "I once read in a book that the headquarters of the Spirit Alliance might have a solution for Winterbane. Advisor, have you heard of this?"
Leon Zane shook his head. "Impossible."
"What do you mean? Either there is or there isn't. What's with the 'impossible'?"
"If anyone in this world could cure Winterbane, it would be the Grandmaster of the Spirit Alliance," Leon Zane said.
"Grandmaster of the Spirit Alliance?" Grace's eyes lit up. "You mean... Byron White?"
"Wow, you know quite a bit!" Leon Zane looked at her in surprise. "People outside the Spirit Alliance rarely know the name 'Byron White.' How did you find out?"
"I... I..."
Because in her previous life, she was the leader of the Vermilion Spirit Alliance, so she'd heard of the Grandmaster, and even caught a glimpse of him a few times!
"What's wrong?" Seeing her stammer, the three of them stared at her.
"I heard it from Bobby! Bobby's cousin is in the Vermilion Spirit Alliance," Grace said. "So, is it him or not?"
"Of course not! That idiot doesn't matter at all!" Leon Zane sneered.
Bianca Whitefan glanced at him but said nothing.
The 'idiot' he mentioned was her brother.
Her half-brother, same father, different mothers.
"Isn't he the Grandmaster of the Spirit Alliance?" Grace asked, confused.
"Here on the Ten Wilds Continent, there are four major human regions: East Wilds, South Wilds, West Wilds, and North Wilds," Leon Zane couldn't help but give her a little world-building lesson. "The Byron White you mentioned is only the leader of the East Wilds Spirit Alliance."
Grace: "...Really? Then who is the Grandmaster you mean?"
"Of course, the Grandmaster of the entire Spirit Alliance! He's the founder of the Alliance, and his mastery of spiritual medicine is unfathomable—no one can match him," Leon Zane said. "So if anyone could cure Winterbane, it would be him."
Grace couldn't help but feel a sense of awe for such a person. "So, if someone could do it, why did you say it's impossible?"
"Because he's already passed away!" Leon Zane sighed.
"Passed away..." Grace was extremely disappointed. "So, no one else can cure Winterbane?"
"Winterbane is the deadliest poison," Leon Zane said. "If just anyone could cure it, would it still be called the deadliest toxin of the Ten Wilds Continent?"
"Then... did the Grandmaster leave behind any disciples or something?"
Leon Zane shook his head. "No."
"Some say he left a legacy—a treasure containing all his life's work. Among them is a book called the Ten Wilds Herbal Codex. That book might just have the antidote for Winterbane," Bianca chimed in.
