Trouble

2/14/2026

In the early hours before dawn.

Serena Feng had already packed away every item that could cause trouble, stuffing them all back into her Smart Med-Pack. Only the necessary herbs and bandages were left beside Lance Quinn.

After triple-checking that nothing was amiss, Serena finally called Vincent Su, who had been waiting outside the door, to come in.

Just as before, Vincent Su's first action upon entering was to inspect Lance Quinn's condition.

He saw that Lance Quinn's wound had been treated with astonishing perfection. Shocked, he looked up at Serena Feng, "Your medical skills are exceptional?"

Though phrased as a question, his tone was clearly affirming her skill.

"Not bad. I'm especially good at treating external injuries." After a sleepless night, Serena's voice was a bit hoarse, low and husky, carrying a unique allure.

"You're too modest." At this point, Vincent Su had already accepted Serena Feng's abilities. Once he was sure Lance Quinn was out of danger, he stood up.

Facing Serena Feng at eye level, Vincent finally noticed the faint shadows under her eyes and the exhaustion on her face. A subtle ache of sympathy stirred in his heart.

No matter what, Serena Feng was still just an ordinary woman. Yet he had threatened and intimidated her—hardly the behavior of a gentleman.

Hmph, now he finally knows regret.

Serena Feng scoffed inwardly, but didn't let it show. Her expression was serious as she explained the key points Vincent Su needed to remember.

"Later, get a few people to carry him to the bed. Move him as smoothly as possible—don’t pull at the wound. If it tears open again, it’ll be a real problem. Once the anesthetic wears off, the pain will kick in, which is normal.

For the next few days, keep his diet light. The wound will be red and swollen for a day or two, and he might run a slight fever. That’s all normal, too.

I've prepared enough medicine for five treatments. Change his dressing every three days. In about half a month, the wound should be mostly healed—then come find me to remove the stitches."

"Got it." Vincent Su listened attentively, humbly asking Serena Feng for tips on changing dressings and what to watch for.

Serena Feng patiently taught him, demonstrating over and over, never losing patience—guiding his hands step by step through the process.

When Lance Quinn opened his eyes, he saw the two of them very close together, Serena Feng's hand resting on Vincent Su's.

For some reason, a wave of sour jealousy surged up in his heart. He wanted to get up and pull them apart. As the thought crossed his mind, his fingers twitched slightly.

Huh? The drug's effects are wearing off?
