Argo’s Regret

In fact, the Bonefu Race was the very first to receive the news.

A formally registered second-rate life race, the Bonefu domain lies at a moderate distance from Light Clan Territory, and their information channels are both swift and accurate. To put it plainly, Bonefu are fleshless carbon-based lifeforms, superficially similar to Humans, yet fundamentally different.

Even newly born Bonefu can survive alone in open space.

Beyond that—

The average probability of Bonefu advancing to the Starlight Tier is much higher than for Humans. Yet the Star-Sky Humans are so numerous that a single standard life planet, with adequate technology, can host tens of billions—living, cultivating, and evolving—a population scale most races cannot match. Such capacity is truly terrifying.

Humans can adapt to land, ocean, and glaciers alike.

Bonefu are different.

Before reaching the Starlight Tier, Bonefu cannot touch any liquid, so a standard life planet can support at most a billion Bonefu. Other races have their own limits as well.

In the dark vacuum beneath spinning stars, two or three Bonefu gather: "Human adaptability is absolutely unmatched, and their birth requirements are so much simpler."

"Indeed. It’s said that even if you count every Bonefu together, our total number is still less than a single star sector in an Ancient Human Kingdom."
