Roxy was startled, her heart pounding as she blushed and whispered, "Evan, put me down! You can't possibly want to do it here, right?"
"Why not? That's exactly why I came to Nine‑Shade City—to see you, and to absorb your Profound Yin Qi so I can break through. But then I ran into Ivy, and it turns out she's got a Pure Yin Constitution, so I had to find a way to absorb her pure yin as well," Evan said.
"You jerk, so you came looking for me just for that? What am I supposed to say to you? Now that you've already absorbed Ivy's pure yin, I guess my Profound Yin Qi isn't much use to you anymore, right?" Roxy asked.
Evan placed Roxy on the bed, smiling, "How could it be useless? Absorbing your Profound Yin Qi might not let me break through instantly, but at least it'll push me to the peak of Fourth‑Layer Saint Martial Realm. And you might even break through a realm yourself. Of course I'd want to do that."
Besides, I really do miss you. You're my woman, so some things are just natural, you know? Maybe it's even a responsibility we both share."
"Evan, I miss you too. I think about you all the time. When I heard you'd come to Nine‑Shade City, I wanted nothing more than to fly straight into your arms. Now, finally, that wish has come true," Roxy said.
Evan didn't say another word. Instead, he showed Roxy his love through action, slowly kissing her soft lips, his tongue gently prying open her teeth to savor her sweet breath.
Very soon, the two of them became intimate. Looking at the now completely bare Roxy, Evan grinned, "Roxy, you're getting more and more beautiful—and that part is definitely bigger than before."
"Nonsense, what got bigger? It's exactly the same as always, okay? You can't even lie properly!" Roxy whispered, her whole body burning up, her skin flushed.
Evan said gently, "Let's just enjoy ourselves. Remember to circulate that mysterious energy."
Roxy nodded, and Evan skillfully entered her body. Soon, soft moans of pleasure and happiness escaped from Roxy's lips.
Their battle was truly earth-shattering. Evan absorbed Roxy's Profound Yin Qi twice; although Roxy was no longer a virgin and her yin wasn't as potent as Princess Ivy's pure yin, it still benefited Evan greatly.
After three hours, the two finally stopped. Roxy had no idea how many times her body had trembled; now she was utterly exhausted.
Still, she circulated the mysterious energy Evan had sent into her body for several cycles. Suddenly, a crisp sound echoed from her dantian—she had broken through, advancing straight to peak Sixth‑Layer Saint Martial Realm. She'd already been on the verge of breaking through from her cultivation in the City Lord's Mansion.
Now, after being nourished by Evan, the powerful Yin‑Yang Qi naturally let her break through. "Roxy, how do you feel?" Evan asked softly.
"I feel full of strength, but it hurts down there. It's all your fault for being so rough! You never know how to take it easy on me," Roxy glared at Evan.
"How is that my fault? Who was it that begged me to go harder, who was it that asked me to go faster?" Evan laughed.
"I'm not talking to you. I need to wash up, or someone might notice. After all, we're supposed to be siblings here, and doing this is totally against the rules." Roxy got out of bed.
The Auspicious Cloud Inn was one of Nine‑Shade City's top inns, and of course the rooms had their own bathrooms. Evan smiled, "Once you're done, I'll take you back. Otherwise, if Ivy finds out you didn't come home all night, she'll definitely get suspicious."
Roxy changed into a blue dress. After being nourished by Evan, her whole aura seemed even more refined. Evan walked out of the room with her, heading toward the City Lord's Mansion.
"Evan, you should head back now. I hope you can pass the Shade Lord's test. Ivy may be spoiled and willful, but she's always treated me well. Now that you've taken her body, I really do hope you two end up together," Roxy said.
"I know, don't worry. As long as it's something I, Evan Chu, set my mind to, nothing in this world can stop me!" Evan said, then his figure flickered and vanished from Roxy's sight.
The next day, Evan deliberately dressed himself up. He looked dashing and carefree, and hadn't even reached the City Lord's Mansion gate before he spotted Princess Ivy.
As soon as she saw Evan, Princess Ivy ran over. "Evan, I've been waiting forever for you! Why'd you take so long to get here?"
"That's just because you're impatient. Isn't it still early? Come on, let's go meet your father—I just hope he won't object to us," Evan said.
Princess Ivy led Evan straight into the grand hall, where many people were already gathered. The City Lord of Nine‑Shade City had purposely called his trusted aides to judge whether Princess Ivy's chosen man was reliable.
"Ivy greets Father!" "Evan Chu greets the Shade Lord!" the two said almost in unison.
"Ivy, is this the human youth you spoke of?" asked a middle-aged man in a purple robe, seated at the head of the hall.
Evan glanced at him, and felt only one thing—power. Not just ordinary strength, either. This man was definitely far beyond Third‑Layer Venerable Martial Realm, totally different from the rumors outside.
"That's him, Father! Didn't I say he would satisfy you? He's got talent and strength—everything you could want. I've decided on him for life," Princess Ivy declared, completely ignoring the stares from everyone in the hall.
The Shade Lord glanced at Evan, his gaze as sharp as lightning, as if it could pierce a person's soul. It was intimidating, but Evan wasn't one to be cowed—he met the Shade Lord's eyes directly.
Both were secretly shocked—Evan by the Shade Lord's strength, and the Shade Lord by Evan's unfathomable depth. Though Evan outwardly appeared to be only at Fourth or Fifth‑Layer Saint Martial Realm, the Shade Lord knew this youth was far from simple.
Otherwise, with Ivy's strength, she would've subdued him easily. Clearly, Evan was hiding his true power. If he could really become his son‑in‑law, the Shade Lord would nurture him wholeheartedly. But if Evan harbored any disloyalty, he would have to be eliminated before he grew too strong, because the confidence in Evan's eyes made the Shade Lord uneasy...
