Lena Lin’s Duel Challenge

2/14/2026

Desmond Mansfield was genuinely startled!

Are you kidding me? What did I do wrong? Why are you coming at me like this?! Big sis, you’re a real Saint Venerable, and I’m just a late Saint Lord—how is it fair for you to bully me?

“Hmph! Pretending to be innocent—commanders like me hate hypocrites like you most! Don’t think I don’t know; just now, you two were clearly talking about me! Well? What did you say? If you don’t tell the truth, I’ll take your head!”

“No! Miss Lin, please don’t misunderstand—we really didn’t say anything.”

Desmond Mansfield’s earlier composure vanished—he couldn’t keep his cool at all. In theory, his cultivation and realm weren’t as high as Lena Lin’s, but if he pulled out every trick, Lena might not be able to take him down quickly. But there’s a saying: you don’t fear your opponent if he’s a man, but if she’s a woman…

If a man is being unreasonable, you can beat him, mock him, laugh at him. But if a woman is being unreasonable, what can you even say?

“Still trying to argue...?”

Lena Lin hadn’t actually planned to start a fight—she just had some pent-up frustration and nowhere to vent. Her Third Uncle had warned her again and again to keep it together.

Looking around the restaurant, Lena Lin didn’t know why her eyes kept landing on Evan Chu and Desmond Mansfield. It wasn’t just because she’d seen them earlier on the stairs; it was also because, out of everyone here, only these two gave her any kind of feeling.

It wasn’t about their handsome faces—it was the aura and presence they carried, a sharp, sky-piercing edge that seemed ready to burst forth at any moment.

Clang!

A golden spear sliced through the air, sending out a burst of energy that looked harmless, but Desmond Mansfield leapt up, flustered and scrambling.

He spun his white folding fan with lightning speed—an attack that could kill any ordinary Saint Lord was casually deflected. Using a unique Mansfield Family technique, Desmond’s identity was instantly clear to Lena Lin.

“Heh, I wondered who you were—turns out you’re a Mansfield Family young master. Hmph! You spoiled brats are all the same, not a single one worth anything!”

As soon as she finished, Lena Lin’s attacks, which had been holding back, suddenly surged—there was even a faint pressure from her Space Domain.

Desmond Mansfield was startled; even Evan Chu was moved.

If a real fight broke out, this restaurant wouldn’t survive! Plus, Yellow-Blade Star-Region was crawling with all sorts of people lately—if trouble started here, it’d be a nightmare to clean up. Never mind Desmond’s Mansfield Family background—even Evan Chu wouldn’t dare act so recklessly!

Lena Lin might look pretty and striking, but her temper was explosive—if you ticked her off, she’d grab her spear and come right at you.

Whoosh!

Evan Chu dropped any thought of just watching the show—he knew Desmond Mansfield alone couldn’t hold Lena Lin back, so he jumped into action too.

All Nine Element Law Avatars erupted at once, flooding the air with overwhelming pressure. Invisible force filled the space, and the whole restaurant instantly grew restless.

Everyone dining here was either a big shot or a wealthy powerhouse.

Basically, every top expert who could qualify for the Star-Treasure Pavilion auction was gathered here. Saint Venerables were a dime a dozen, but when Evan Chu’s aura exploded, every single person present felt their knees go weak—some nearly collapsed!

Desmond Mansfield was even more shocked. He’d already pegged Evan Chu as mid Saint Lord, but this sudden burst of power went straight past some mid and even late Saint Venerables.

A regular mid Saint Venerable? Desmond could take on five at once! But power like Evan Chu’s…

He was holding up okay, but some of the lower-ranked attendants and servants—those below Saint Lord or even just at Saint rank—were flat on the floor, pinned down by the pressure and unable to move.

The timid ones had already lost control—yellow and white fluids leaked out.

Everyone noticed the commotion, but most could only grit their teeth in silence!

Who was that guy? Plenty knew—Desmond Mansfield, the Mansfield Family’s most talented youth, the so-called Gentleman Without Dust! And that girl? Even scarier! Lena Lin, young master of the Savage Brotherhood; her cultivation could crush anyone here.

But this other young man...

Most people were shaken by Evan Chu’s aura, scared out of their wits, but they knew he was only reacting to pressure—the real threat was Lena Lin.

Stories about Evan Chu had spread through this star-region, but not everyone knew his name—after all, he’d only just started making waves in the last few years.

Compared to other genius youths, Evan Chu was far less famous. Lena Lin and Desmond Mansfield had long been marked by major powers. These peak talents were the future leaders of the Star-River Domain—whoever was stronger would one day rule the dynasties and clans.

“So strong! Desmond, who is this guy?”

“Miss Lena, you know me?” Desmond Mansfield was a bit surprised, but clearly Lena’s words weren’t focused on him.

“You sure talk a lot! Hmph! Doesn’t matter who he is—today, I’m not letting any of you off easy!”

Lena Lin hadn’t been in the mood, but now that she’d spotted Evan Chu, a playful smile broke out on her face—like a mischievous kid who’d found her favorite toy.

“Come out and fight me!”

Evan Chu was taken aback. “What do you mean? I didn’t do anything! Desmond, this is all your fault!”

“Uh, Evan, you can’t blame me for this—I didn’t bring him here.”

“Desmond, you’re still single, aren’t you?” Evan Chu suddenly blurted out. Desmond’s face twisted, a little resentful. “What’s that supposed to mean?”

“Isn’t it obvious? A girl comes over to chat, you talk her ear off—fine. But when she starts a fight, you actually block her? Damn, now you’ve dragged me into this mess. What do you think?”

“Enough! Cut the crap—what do we do now?”

Desmond looked helpless. Sure, he was single—but what did that have to do with anything? Not much! Besides, overthinking wouldn’t help. The real issue was: to fight or not to fight!

“This is all your fault! No wonder you’re still single!”

Evan Chu shot him a glare, but in the end, he had no choice—he summoned the Ancient Dragon Saber and chased Lena Lin up to the star-region’s Nine Heavens.

There, Lena Lin challenged him to a duel. Evan Chu knew this bizarre, sudden fight was unavoidable.

The real problem—his opponent was a woman. Go all out, and he’d be stuck with endless trouble; hold back, and he risked getting beaten himself. Evan Chu found himself in a truly awkward spot, torn inside.
