You Keep Crying

"I'm being perfectly serious! Do I look like I'm not? This spatial tide that appears every hundred years, so regular, probably comes from the same place. So, of course His Majesty the Celestial Emperor has gone to the same place as your mother!"

Sean Shaw: "..."

After a pause, the Fish added, "But whether he went to reunite with your mother as a person or just his soul, that's hard to say."

Sean Shaw: "What do you mean?"

"The spatial storms inside a wormhole—he might not be able to withstand them. So did he go alive or dead? We'll have to wait for a sign from the heavens! If the Celestial Emperor dies, there'll be a celestial omen."

Sean Shaw stood there, staring unblinkingly at the Twelfth Coffin, silent for a long time.

Lucy Luan sent him a sound-transmission: "Well? What did the Fish say?"

Sean Shaw shook his head. "It can't open it. And even if we moved the coffin, the spatial tide has long since faded."

Lucy Luan comforted him, saying, "His Majesty will be fine! Who knows, maybe someday he'll come back here together with your mother!"

Sean Shaw tilted his head back, gazing at the cloudless sky, unmoving for a long while.

"You shouldn't have come to propose..." Lucy Luan said sadly, "If you hadn't, His Majesty wouldn't have gotten into trouble."

"What does proposing have to do with it? Every hundred years, on this day, he comes here and watches all night."

After a pause, he braced himself and said, "The Fish said he probably went to the same place as my mother. I just hope he really gets to see her again."

Lucy Luan nodded.

...

Soren Lann remained silent the whole time.

He had a feeling something big was about to happen.

Only His Majesty, Divine Lord Tanya Quinn, and he knew the truth about the Demon Emperor.

He'd always thought some peerless demon would suddenly appear in the lower realm.

But he'd never imagined the Celestial Emperor would just vanish without a trace!

Could this have something to do with the Demon Emperor's arrival?

Did the coffin suddenly rise because some terrifying beast from another realm slipped through? Maybe it was so powerful that neither His Majesty nor Lucy Luan could even see it?

...

Later, Divine Lord Tanya Quinn arrived, along with several Dragon Lords from Drake Abyss, imperial heirs, and various respected High Lords—all gathering at the Spirit Alliance.

The Celestial Empress, tears streaming down her face and barely able to stand, threw herself onto the coffin, desperately trying to move it.

But obviously, it was futile.

"Your Majesty! How could you be so heartless? Just leaving me like this—what am I supposed to do now?" The Empress sobbed, utterly heartbroken.

"Empress, there's no celestial omen. His Majesty isn't dead yet!" Divine Lord Tanya Quinn said coolly. "You're crying a bit too soon!"

The Empress shot her a frosty look. "So you mean His Majesty could still come back?"

Tanya Quinn raised an eyebrow. "I'm just trying to comfort you, Your Majesty. Why get upset?"

"Your 'comfort' is honestly grating!" the Empress snapped. "Everyone knows what Coffin Valley is about! No one can open it, no one knows where it leads, and no one knows if it'll ever open again. So what, I'm not allowed to cry a little? Is that 'excessive'?"

"Go ahead and keep crying," Tanya Quinn said, making a polite 'please' gesture.

The Empress's tears, it seemed, were under perfect control—she immediately started sobbing again, and this time, it actually seemed sincere.

"I heard that only Lucy Luan was with His Majesty at the time, is that right?" Leo Li suddenly asked.

Then all the people from Drake Abyss turned to look at her.

Lucy Luan had already explained the whole thing several times and was exhausted, but whenever they asked, she had to repeat it, and in detail.

She once again described the events in detail.

After listening, Leo Li asked calmly, "So you're saying he was pulled down by a sudden force from the well?"
