Chapter 592: Taking Action

"Leon Merlin, what do you think you're doing!" Councilor Suville nearly lost his mind on the spot, his face pale as he rushed up to Leon: "Stop right now! Do you have any idea what you're doing? Are you only satisfied if you get us all killed?"

Leon glanced back at Suville but didn't stop chanting the incantation for the Gate of Purgatory. This was, after all, a seventh-level spell. Even though Leon's power was now strong enough to terrify even Title Archmages, the level of the spell was still a hurdle. Casting above his rank put immense pressure on Leon; at this moment, nearly two-thirds of his focus was devoted to resisting the backlash of magical force. He had no time to spare for Suville's frantic protests...

Yet, while Leon ignored Suville, Suville had no intention of letting Leon off the hook...

After his repeated questions went unanswered, Suville finally snapped: "Leon Merlin, I'm telling you now—if you want everyone to die with your precious Merlin Family, you're dreaming! I won't let you get away with it!"

As soon as he finished speaking, Suville raised his staff.

Then, with a thunderous boom...

A Fireblast shot out, trailing a long tail of flame, and crashed hard against Leon's rune shield...

In an instant, sparks flew everywhere.

Everyone was stunned in that moment...

Reid, Weiss, Anthus, Farton, Seth...

No one expected Suville to actually attack. The three factions were cooperating against the terrifying beast Oracis, but Suville's move could mean total rupture between them. That Fireball spell had pushed everyone to the brink of death. Even a united team could barely handle Oracis—if the group splintered now, facing Oracis would be suicide.

This Fireball was truly malicious in nature...

Even the always slow-to-react Shuban looked utterly stunned...

The way they looked at Suville was as if he was a complete idiot.

Is he trying to get himself killed...

If you want to argue, just argue—but why raise your staff? And not only that, you actually attacked Lord Merlin...

You're in big trouble now...

But Suville was still oblivious to the gravity of the situation, staring coldly at Leon: "Leon Merlin, if anyone's to blame, it's you for meddling too much..."

After speaking, Suville tried to cast another Fireball to completely interrupt the ongoing Infernal Gate.
