Yvonne Foster was about seventeen or eighteen, dressed in a flowing white dress. Her pretty, oval-shaped face was streaked with tears, her expression full of sadness and helplessness.
"Cliff Fu."
Hearing the girl's words, Cliff Fu couldn't help but look at Ian Song with pleading eyes.
"Get up and lead the way," Ian said in a low voice.
"Thank you," Cliff Fu said gratefully. He'd been shot several times, yet Ian Song had managed to save him in no time, so he didn't doubt Ian Song could save his father either.
"Big Brother, who is he?" Yvonne Foster looked at Ian curiously.
With a thought, Ian Song sent his true yuan surging along the path of Innate Third Layer.
...
Soon, the three of them arrived at the hospital room of Cliff Fu's father, Damian Foster.
At that moment, Damian was already unconscious, his face shrouded in black qi, his breath so weak it seemed he could die at any second.
"You two, wait outside."
Ian Song ordered Cliff Fu and Yvonne Foster.
"Ian Song, I'm counting on you!" Cliff Fu bowed deeply to Ian Song, then quickly pulled Yvonne Foster, who was about to say something, out of the room.
"Big Brother, who is he? Can he really save Dad?" Yvonne was worried about her father's condition, but being young, couldn't help asking out of curiosity.
"Ian Song's a miracle worker. He'll definitely save Dad!" Cliff Fu said with emotion.
"Really?" Yvonne still couldn't quite believe it. After all, Ian looked about her age.
"If you don't trust Ian, don't you trust your brother? Just wait, Dad will be fine soon." Cliff Fu nodded firmly, feeling even luckier to have made a friend like Ian.
In the hospital room, Ian Song looked at Damian Foster lying on the bed but didn't rush to treat him. He felt conflicted; when he saved Cliff Fu earlier, there hadn't been time to think.
But now, he had more reservations.
He didn't know what kind of person Damian Foster was, so he couldn't be sure that after saving him, Damian Foster wouldn't expose his miraculous abilities.
Honestly, the best way would be to turn Damian Foster into his puppet, but after all, he was Cliff Fu's father.
"Forget it. For Cliff's sake, I'll take the risk!"
With that thought, Ian pressed his palm to Damian's chest and activated Radiance of Life. The black qi on Damian's face visibly retreated, and his internal injuries rapidly healed.
Ian's fingers brushed Damian's Deep-Sleep Point, then he moved to a nearby stool and sat down to meditate.
With that thought, Ian Song pressed his palm to Damian Foster's chest and activated Radiance of Life. The black qi on Damian Foster's face visibly retreated, and his internal injuries rapidly healed.
Closing the system panel, Ian couldn't help but feel a wave of emotion. The ring system had changed his life so much; without it, he could already see himself joining the ranks of ordinary workers after high school.
With a thought, Ian sent his true yuan surging along the path of Innate Third Layer.
It charged forward like a breaking wave, and in less than two minutes, he opened all the acupoints along the way, forming a new true yuan cycle in his body.
After one full circulation, his true yuan returned to his dantian.
It was now more than twice as powerful, and much purer than before.
Ian Song gave a wry smile. "Uncle Damian Foster, I appreciate your kindness, but I'm happy with my life right now, and I already have a girlfriend. I hope you understand."
Damian Foster laughed, "Well, in that case, I won't force it. It's my daughter's loss!" He then told Cliff Fu, "Cliff, take our young friend to rest."
A soft groan sounded—it was Damian waking up. Ian realized he'd unknowingly cultivated for two hours.
Ian ignored Damian and got up to open the door.
The siblings waiting outside looked at him hopefully.
"Ian, how is it?"
"Your father is fine now! Go check on him."
"Ah, that's fantastic! Thank you, Ian!" Cliff said gratefully, while Yvonne rushed to the bedside. Seeing Damian's pale but stable face, she burst into happy tears. "Dad, you're okay?"
"Go on!"
Ian waved at Cliff and strolled out of the hospital room.
After all the chaos in the Fu Family, the old estate felt much colder, and there was even a faint scent of blood lingering in the air.
With a thought, Ian pulled up his system panel.
His mental power had increased by 20 points, reaching 323, and his physique had officially broken past 2000, now at 2029.
Closing the system panel, Ian Song couldn't help but feel a wave of emotion. The Milky Way Ring had changed his life so much; without it, he could already see himself joining the ranks of ordinary workers after high school.
"Haha, you must be the Ian Song that Cliff Fu keeps talking about! Thank you, thank you for saving both of us and the whole Fu Family!"
But now, he was living a completely different kind of life. Maybe it was full of danger and bloodshed, but he couldn't deny that he enjoyed it.
Even if this life was short, he had no desire to go back to his old, mediocre existence.
People say that being ordinary is a blessing.
Would you consider joining our Fu Family? You're our family's great benefactor. If you join us, I'll marry my daughter to you, and once Cliff Fu becomes patriarch, you'll be our Great Elder!
A person's life only lasts a few decades. If you don't even want to pursue happiness or a better life, what's the point of coming to this world at all?
Damian scolded her, "A grown man should marry, a grown woman should wed. Ian is handsome, talented, and strong—marrying him would be a blessing for you. What do you think, Ian?" He turned to Ian for his answer.
Cliff's voice came from behind, interrupting Ian's thoughts.
Yvonne Foster felt wronged and stormed out of the room in anger. But once she calmed down, she had to admit her dad had a point. Her brother said if Ian hadn't helped, he'd have died at the hands of their uncles. Plus, Ian's medical skills were amazing, and he was good-looking too. Compared to the boys at school who only flaunted their family money and status, Ian was way better.
"He's fine now, and he wants to meet his savior," Cliff said with a smile.
When Ian saw Damian again, he was already dressed in a black Tang suit, his complexion rosy and his eyes bright. He didn't look like someone who'd just recovered from serious injuries at all.
Ian gave a wry smile. "Uncle Damian, I appreciate your kindness, but I'm happy with my life right now, and I already have a girlfriend. I hope you understand."
Damian laughed, "Well, in that case, I won't force it. It's my daughter's loss!" He then told Cliff Fu, "Cliff, take our young friend to rest."
"Hello, Uncle Damian. Cliff and I are friends, so this is just what I should do," Ian replied calmly.
"Cliff is lucky to have a friend like you," Damian said with feeling.
Ian just smiled and didn't say much more.
Yvonne Foster, on the other hand, hadn't stopped watching Ian with curious eyes since he walked in.
After some polite conversation, Damian suddenly asked, "May I ask, young man, which sect or family do you come from?"

"No sect, no family," Ian replied, choosing to hide his connection to the Zhao Family.
Hearing this, Damian's eyes lit up. "Would you consider joining our Foster Family? You're our family's great benefactor. If you join us, I'll marry my daughter to you, and once Cliff becomes patriarch, you'll be our Great Elder!"
"Dad, how can you say that? I haven't even thought about getting married yet!" Yvonne protested, upset that her father was making marriage plans for her without asking.
Damian scolded her, "A grown man should marry, a grown woman should wed. Ian is handsome, talented, and strong—marrying him would be a blessing for you. What do you think, Ian?" He turned to Ian for his answer.
"Dad! If you're going to be mean, I'm not talking to you anymore!"
Yvonne felt wronged and stormed out of the room in anger.
Inside the room.
Ian gave a wry smile. "Uncle Damian, I appreciate your kindness, but I'm happy with my life right now, and I already have a girlfriend. I hope you understand."
Damian laughed, "Well, in that case, I won't force it. It's my daughter's loss!" He then told Cliff, "Cliff, take our young friend to rest."
