After Goldwing showed up, he shot Evan Chu and the Roc King a look, then blurted, "Boss, you’re unreal! You actually beat that old monster. He gives off pure powerhouse vibes!"
"Goldwing, quit running your mouth. He’s the real deal—the Roc King of your clan in the Immortal Realm. I feel pretty bad for hurting him by accident. Now he’s about to pass his last bit of power to you, so you’d better show some respect and thank him properly!" Evan Chu said, voice full of feeling.
Goldwing froze, about to speak, but the Roc King cut in, "I don’t have much time left! Come here, future king of the Golden-Winged Roc Clan—let me give my clan one last gift!"
As soon as the Roc King finished, golden light erupted from his body. He suddenly looked much better—even though his battered body couldn’t heal, his face flushed with life.
Evan Chu didn’t say a word. He knew exactly what was happening—this was the last flare of life, the Roc King burning every drop of his God-Infant’s energy to pour it into Goldwing.
The Roc King suddenly sat up, waved his hand, and Goldwing was yanked right in front of him—no chance to resist. That old saying, 'a starving camel is still bigger than a horse,' couldn’t be truer. Even on his last legs, the Roc King was still a monster.
Golden light exploded out of the Roc King, instantly swallowing him and Goldwing. Then the two of them started spinning, faster and faster, rising off the ground and into the sky. Evan Chu was left totally speechless.
Back when Evan met that elder in the mine, even that power transfer was nothing compared to this—this was on a whole other level.
Meanwhile, the folks buried under rubble started crawling out—most of them were a bit roughed up, but with their strength, they’d bounce back fast. Only five had shown up so far, including the Golden Dragon King.
In other words, that clash between Evan Chu and the Roc King had wiped out five Golden-Winged Roc elites. That kind of power? Absolutely terrifying.
"Palace Lord, what’s going on? Why’s that old guy floating up there now? Did you two stop fighting or what?" Golden Dragon King asked, totally confused.
"He’s passing his power into Goldwing. From now on, the Golden-Winged Roc Clan deserves special treatment—the Dragon Clan owes them big time." Evan Chu said, half helpless, half admiring.
The other four just stared at Evan Chu, totally lost. After that display, nobody dared look down on him—if he wanted, he could wipe them out without breaking a sweat.
After half an incense stick, the two in the sky slowly landed. Goldwing and the Roc King naturally separated. The Roc King looked even older now—his face a web of wrinkles, almost scary.
"King, how’d you end up like this? Even if we can’t beat that guy, you didn’t have to go this far! Worst case, we’d all blow ourselves up and take him with us!" one Golden-Winged Roc rushed over, shouting.
The Roc King waved him off, "No need. This is fate—nobody’s to blame. From today onward, the Golden-Winged Roc Clan bows to the Dragon Clan. That’s my order, and you will obey!
I held off ascending to the God Realm all this time just to wait for this Dragon Clan powerhouse. He’s the real thing. Millions of years ago, a God Realm expert gave me a mission: pass something on to him. Now I’ve finally done it—no regrets left in my heart!"
The four Golden-Winged Rocs were baffled, but nobody dared question the Roc King—he was the clan’s pillar, and his words now sounded just like a final will.
Then the Roc King turned to Evan Chu again, "I’ve burned almost all my energy. Not much time left. Can you promise me one thing?"
"Just say the word! If it’s in my power, I’ll make it happen!" Evan Chu replied, face serious.
"I want you to take care of my Golden-Winged Roc Clan. In the Immortal Realm, only Godfall Valley still has us left—even the old immortal beast heartlands are empty. The Golden-Winged Roc bloodline is rarer than you can imagine. I just want to keep our lineage alive," said the Roc King.
"Don’t worry. From now on, the Dragon Clan and Golden-Winged Roc Clan are sworn life-and-death brothers. We’ll look after you, no matter what." Evan Chu promised.
"Good, good! Then I can leave in peace. The true king of the Golden-Winged Rocs is in your hands now. You four—and everyone else—must follow the one who received my power. He’s your real king, because he evolved straight from Goldwing, and his bloodline is even purer!" the Roc King declared.
"Rest easy, King! We’ll follow your orders. One day, the Golden-Winged Roc name will shake the whole Immortal Realm!" a middle-aged clansman swore.
Once again, golden light burst from the Roc King, and his body faded, slowly vanishing. The four Golden-Winged Roc clansmen knelt—this was their clan’s unique farewell ritual, said to help their souls enter reincarnation.
Soon, the Roc King’s body vanished, while Goldwing just sat there, motionless—like a monk in meditation, totally absorbed in digesting the power he’d just received.
"Don’t worry! Since I promised your king, I’ll make it happen. One day, I’ll personally lead you out of Godfall Valley and back into the Immortal Realm, so all immortal beasts know that the Golden-Winged Roc Clan is the Dragon Clan’s true ally and sworn brother!" Evan Chu declared.
His words fired everyone up—the four Golden-Winged Roc clansmen were visibly moved. To get a promise from the strongest Dragon Clan member was rare as phoenix feathers. Their king’s passing hurt, but none of them blamed Evan Chu. If even the king didn’t, who were they to complain?
Golden Dragon King glanced at Evan Chu, "Palace Lord, you’re really going through with this? This is one scorching hot potato."
"It’s settled, so zip it. From now on, the Golden-Winged Roc Clan gets special care. If anyone dares bully them—kill without mercy!" Evan Chu barked.
"Understood! Understood!" Golden Dragon King nodded like crazy, and the four Golden-Winged Rocs felt nothing but gratitude toward Evan Chu…
