Ever since the first reports of the Mordor Legion reached the front lines, the Mountain Giant has been the heaviest weight pressing down on everyone’s minds. Wherever it goes, the land is flattened. Wherever it pushes, that territory becomes Mordor’s domain. The hundred thousand Spiderfiends are terrifying, but not completely unmanageable. The Mountain Giant, though—just its towering presence alone deals a massive blow to everyone’s morale.
But right now, for the first time ever, the Mountain Giant has retreated. Just that tiny step back has sent the allied warriors of all races into a frenzy of joy. It means the Mountain Giant is no longer absolutely invincible. It means there’s a real chance to defeat the enemy. It means—hope.
With hope in your heart, you don’t give up. You rise up. You fight with a strength far greater than what despair could ever muster.
So after a brief moment of stunned disbelief, the allied army suddenly erupted with sky-high fighting spirit and passion. The exhausted were no longer tired, the weak found new strength, the fearful felt courage rising, and even the wounded gripped their weapons tighter. Even those whose minds had been weakened by the curse of dark magic were shaken free in this wave of inspiration, donning armor and charging back into battle.
All the warriors roared with excitement, and under the commanders’ lead, they unleashed a tidal wave of counterattack.
“Forget the Mountain Giant! Let’s just wipe out these eight-legged freaks!”
“Kill them! Chop them up! Hack our way from Yantai Street all the way to Nanjing West Road!”
Whether native or Chosen One, professional soldier or militia, even the women and children peeking from the windows—all were swept up in feverish war enthusiasm. When everyone’s united, it becomes a force of nature. The fighting spirit of over a hundred thousand in White City shot straight up to the heavens, and even the volcanic clouds above churned and rolled with unease.
Boom boom boom! With the flying ants shaken off, the Atlas Titan Cannon roared back to life. No need for anti-air now—the Atlas Titan Cannon could finally unleash its unimaginable destructive power. Its shots ripped through the air, slamming down onto the ground, and the explosions sent dust billowing along White City’s streets. The Spiderfiends that had stormed into the alleys for slaughter were instantly devastated by this terrifying attack from above. Wherever the Titan Cannon swept, the result was a mess of shattered limbs and toxic blood splattered across the whole block.
“Roar! Roar! Roar!” The warriors shouted slogans, charging fiercely behind the path carved by the Titan Cannon’s barrage. They swept through the battered Spiderfiends like chopping vegetables, surging forward toward the city gates.
The banner of counterattack fluttered in the wind.
On the other side, debris cut through the sky as fragments exploded from the Mountain Giant’s forehead, raining down like stone. Mixed among the falling rubble, Jill Young descended from above, arms outstretched like a shuttle slicing through the air, weaving through the gaps between the stones. The Mountain Giant’s body was like a mountain range, and Jill slid rapidly down its chest.
“Looking down from here, it really feels like bungee jumping off a cliff,” Jill Young mused, glancing around. Suddenly, a massive beast burst out directly ahead—actually below her, between the Mountain Giant’s legs. It was the Earth Devourer.
The Earth Devourer opened its massive jaws, snapping at her, but it was far too slow for Jill Young. With a flash, she landed on its back midair, right among the metal pillars, stomping one back into place as it was about to be squeezed out.
Splat! Pus and blood sprayed as the Earth Devourer howled in pain.
“What’s wrong, can’t keep up?” Jill Young stretched out her right hand, slapping Jack Young: “When you said one second, you really meant it—here, take it back!”
“No choice, this bug’s pretty tough. If I’m too weak, I can’t control it.” Jack Young lifted his left hand, giving Jill Young a high five. With a loud smack, a dragon-shaped shadow flashed and vanished, transferring dragon power between the twins. Jack Young then slapped a metal pillar, suppressing the Earth Devourer’s movement, and asked, “How’s that for a full-power smash?”
“It feels amazing—like all my frustrations from the past year are gone!” Jill Young stretched lazily, then pondered, “But as great as it is, I’m exhausted. The Mountain Giant’s reputation is well-deserved. The outer stone is one thing, but inside it’s solid. I’m no match for it head-on.”
“Hungry? Grab a Snickers—wait, have some life energy instead.” Jack Young pointed at the ground. “Right here, I’ve got it ready.”
Jill Young’s right hand grabbed at the spot, sending golden ripples buzzing out and then snapping back. The Earth Devourer froze, then suddenly let out an earth-shattering roar, as if struck by unimaginable pain.
Corpse possession isn’t unsolvable. Dragon-Elephant Extraction—specialized for dealing with the undead.
The Mountain Giant reached out with a massive hand, the sky seeming to collapse with the pressure, making it hard to breathe. On the Earth Devourer’s back, Jill Young gave a thumbs up: “Yeah, this is getting exciting!” She turned and shouted down to the distant ground, “Hey, why are you getting weak?”
Below, near the Mountain Giant’s feet, Jasper Xiao grinned, then straightened up and took a deep breath. Crackle—his whole body began to emit a mist of eerie green gas, finally expelling the necromantic curse that had invaded him.
He stepped forward, passing all the Holy Light knights to stand at the front. There, the Desecrator hurled Paladin and Li Yuncong aside with a thunderous blow, sending waves of death energy after them. Even high-level Chosen Ones would struggle to withstand such an attack.
But then, Holy Light flashed—Jasper Xiao’s left hand glowed brilliantly. He grasped at the air, and the wave of necromantic energy was instantly pinned like a snake caught by the throat, nailed in midair.
“Actually, I’ve made some progress this year,” Jasper Xiao murmured stoically. “I wanted to show off my growth, but I slipped up and embarrassed myself. Guess I’ll never be the cool guy—so I’ll just stick to doing what I’m meant to do.”
Bang—Jasper Xiao clenched his fist.
Bang—the necromantic wave shattered and vanished in an instant, as if crushed by sheer force.
The Desecrator braced for battle—its mission: kill Jasper Xiao. Now facing its target alone, it was the perfect moment to go all out. Countless wails erupted, a thousand souls screaming as death energy surged. Its body split open with crackling sounds, revealing eyes glowing with black light. In the end, the Desecrator became a ten-eyed demon, its presence terrifying.
"Captain!" "Careful, Captain!"
The Order of the Silver Hand knights sensed the Desecrator’s power, but Jasper Xiao showed no fear. He strode forward, his left hand shifting through three gestures—prayer, seal, and incantation—in an instant.
Holy Seal—Discipline!
A mysterious symbol appeared behind Jasper Xiao, resembling a holy codex, swirling and floating around him.
Holy Seal—Justice!
A second symbol appeared—a set of scales. Not only was it a condensation of Holy Light, it was also the fruit of Jasper Xiao’s journey and achievements.
Holy Seal—Protection!
A third symbol appeared—a shield. The symbol glowed softly, as if Jasper Xiao were cloaked in a sacred aura. He seemed blessed by the gods, his presence growing majestic and solid, as if transforming from mortal to divine.
Sensing this change, the Desecrator’s ten eyes showed shock. It grew frenzied, death energy surging as countless faces writhed within its form, which swelled and became ever more monstrous and terrifying.
But Jasper Xiao simply turned his hand, raising the Sword of Kings to his brow. Holy Light burst forth as he focused on the Desecrator, then suddenly shot forward like a beam of light, charging straight at his nemesis: “I grant you a hundred years of glory, a model for all mankind!”
Splash—like a stone dropping into water, Jasper Xiao plunged straight into the Desecrator’s body, surrounded by countless vengeful spirits.
On the other side, Jill Young streaked skyward like a shooting star. Jack Young struck left and stomped right, prompting the Earth Devourer to roar and bite at the Mountain Giant’s lower body. As the Mountain Giant was attacked, Jill Young slipped through its fingers and landed on its hand.
"Standing here, I finally understand how Sun Wukong must have felt facing the Buddha." Jill Young looked around at the massive hand, then up at the giant’s face, hundreds of meters away—like seeing a skyscraper across the city. The face was scarred and terrifying.
Looking down, the wide rocky hand was riddled with cracks, steaming heat pouring out. An ordinary person’s feet would be burned to a crisp in minutes. But Jill Young just took in the view calmly, then decided to draw the giant’s attention and buy Jack Young some time.
But how do I draw aggro? Its soul energy is overloaded—it probably can’t even understand words. I need a way to get its attention… Wait, my aggro’s already maxed out—I don’t even need to try!
The Mountain Giant was enraged—its huge eyes burned like twin black suns, and the heat from its cracks soared. Volcanic energy was frantically consumed, and even the volcanic clouds above seemed about to be torn apart. Ignoring the Earth Devourer attacking its lower body, it swung its other hand down like swatting a mosquito.
