Devil Star’s Devil City

"Aunt, please, I'm begging you. It's just so boring here—if you don't let me out, I'll, I'll..." Sara Sang was desperate to leave, unable to calm down. "You'll what? Are you threatening me?" Lady Enchantress laughed seductively.

"I wouldn't dare," Sara replied, frustrated.

Lady Enchantress looked at Sara and said, "Fine, I'll let you out. But once you're outside, you must keep his matters secret, understand?"

"I promise I'll keep it secret, Aunt. Don't worry, even though I have some grudges against him, I won't expose his identity," Sara said.

"That's good," Lady Enchantress said. Evan Yang was curious why Lady Enchantress wanted to let Sara out, but after they reached the barrier's edge, Lady Enchantress said to Evan, "I have something to take care of, so I'll leave first. Sara is your responsibility now. Until I come for you, you must guarantee his safety. Otherwise, I won't let you off."

"Aunt, do you have to be so harsh? He's offended so many people, and you want me to stay with him? If something happens to him, it's not my fault," Sara complained, frustrated.

"I don't care. His safety is your responsibility. And Evan, before the Devil–Immortal Realm formation is dispelled, try not to reveal your identity," Lady Enchantress said.

"Understood. Thank you, Senior," Evan replied.

Lady Enchantress glanced at the two, then vanished in a flash.

Watching Lady Enchantress leave, Sara grumbled, "I thought she was letting me out of kindness, but it's just so I can protect a burden like you." "A burden? Miss, if you can beat me, you can call me that. But if you can't, maybe save your breath," Evan said helplessly. He knew Lady Enchantress meant well, wanting them to look after each other.

"So what if you beat me? That just means you beat me, not every expert in the Devil Realm. There are so many strong cultivators here—I doubt you can handle them all," Sara said, unconvinced.

"Didn't someone once say that if they beat me, they'd be the number one under the Demon Sovereigns? Wonder what happened to that?" Evan grinned.

Seeing Evan's smile, Sara snapped, "Would it kill you not to talk?"

"Yep, I'd die if I didn't," Evan laughed.

"Annoying! Next time, I'll definitely beat you. Just wait," Sara declared.

Then Sara turned to leave, but Evan called out, "Didn't your aunt just tell you to stick with me?"

Already angry, Sara got even more annoyed at Evan's words, but held back and said, "Fine, you say—where to?"

"Now that the Devil Realm and Immortal Realm are sealed by a barrier, it's impossible for me to leave. So let's explore the Devil Realm. Any fun places around here?" Evan asked.

"Fun places? Kid, aren't you worried you'll run into Demon Mountain's people?" Sara said.

"There are only so many Demon Sovereigns. I don't believe I'll be unlucky enough to run into one," Evan laughed.

"Even if you don't run into a Demon Sovereign, there are so many informants—you won't escape their notice," Sara replied.

Evan smiled, then changed his face with a powerful disguise technique. "How about this? Will this work?"

"I'd heard you were good at disguise arts, but I didn't expect it to be this impressive," Sara exclaimed after seeing Evan's new face.

Evan smiled, "Then let's go."

Sara glanced at Evan, still annoyed, but had no choice. She didn't want to stay in such a boring place, so she said, "If you're not afraid of dying, follow me."

With that, she took Evan and left. Evan was curious where Sara might take him.

Evan followed Sara to a planet, then into a city. The city was bustling, with vendors lining the streets selling all sorts of goods.

"What is this place? Why is it so big?" Evan asked, curious.

"This is Devil Star, and the city here is called Devil City. It's existed for ages and is enormous. I heard it was built by a powerful figure, and it's surrounded by strong walls and protected by formidable formations. People love to trade here, since no one dares cause trouble—not even Demon Sovereigns," Sara explained.

"Not even Demon Sovereigns? Does that mean there's someone even stronger here?" Evan's first reaction was to wonder, so he asked curiously.

"That's right. I heard there's a reclusive cultivator here—also a Demon Sovereign, but much stronger than the others. That's why the Demon Sovereigns don't dare cause trouble, and this place has become everyone's paradise," Sara explained.

"So there's actually a sanctuary in the Devil Realm. That's great. Does that mean even if someone knows my identity, they won't touch me?" Evan laughed.

"Not exactly. Open attacks are forbidden, but there's still plenty of hidden tricks—like drugging you or knocking you out before you notice," Sara said with a laugh.

"Those things don't scare me, so you're worrying too much," Evan replied with a smile.

Sara laughed, "You're too confident. Haven't you heard the phrase 'hidden dragons and crouching tigers'? There might be plenty of experts—you just haven't run into them yet."

"Is that so? I'd like to see who I might run into," Evan said with a smile.

"Who might you run into? Like that guy over there, sitting at the inn entrance. He's one of them. I heard he's from the Immortal Realm, and he's gotten even stronger after Demon Mountain's modifications. I wanted to challenge him before, but he refused," Sara said.

Evan glanced at the man at the door, just curious to see another Immortal Realm person—maybe make a friend. But when he saw the man's face, Evan was stunned. "It's him." "What? You know him?" Sara asked, surprised by Evan's reaction.

"Is his name Linus Fenn?" Evan asked, smiling.

"How do you know? You know him?" Sara asked, surprised.

"He's been in the Devil Realm for over a thousand years. Has he always stayed here?" Evan asked, curious.

[Irrelevant system message skipped.]

"Yeah, he's always been here. He's got a nickname—Wind Ghost. I don't know what triggered him, but whenever he sees someone from the Immortal Realm, he always tries to teach them a lesson," Sara explained.

"That's because the Immortal Realm Alliance is hunting him, so he hates them. And honestly, he probably hates me even more," Evan said with a smile.

"He hates you? What, are you enemies?" Sara asked, surprised.

"Enemies doesn't even begin to cover it," Evan said, thinking of all the unresolved issues between him and Linus.

"Looks like there's a lot of bad blood between you two. In that case, why not have a duel?" Sara suggested, smiling—she was actually curious about Evan's real strength.

Evan smiled. "So you brought me here just to make me duel these so-called hidden experts?"

"That's only part of it. I'm bored, so why not challenge some people? Let's see who's stronger—you or them," Sara said with a laugh.

"You're really bored, aren't you?" Evan said.

"What? Lost your nerve?" Sara asked, curious.

"It's not about nerve. If I expose myself, and the other Demon Sovereigns find out, it'll be a disaster," Evan said.

"Aren't you good at hiding? You said only Demon Sovereigns could see through you. Looks like your true form's coming out," Sara laughed.

"Say whatever you want," Evan replied.

"If you won't go, I will," said Sara. She was always energetic, and had challenged plenty of people before. She was known as the Demon Witch.

Her appearance naturally drew attention. Sara stood before Linus Fenn and said, "Wind Ghost, today I challenge you. If you've got guts, accept."

"You're not from the Immortal Realm. Move along," Linus Fenn said.

"True, I'm not from the Immortal Realm—but I'm the Demon Witch!" Sara declared.

"Demon Witch? That's just a nickname others gave you, same as they call me Wind Ghost," Linus Fenn replied.

"So you only dare fight Immortal Realm people?" Sara asked.

"That's right," Linus Fenn replied.

"Then my companion will challenge you. He's from the Immortal Realm," Sara said. Evan didn't expect Sara to push him forward. Linus glanced at Evan, and when he saw Evan's eyes, he paused—almost thinking he'd seen Evan Yang. But he quickly calmed down. "He's not from the Immortal Realm," Linus said.

"Who says he's not? He's just really good at hiding. So, are you going to accept or not?" Sara pressed.

"He's not. Move along," Linus replied.

Evan smiled, "Honorable Demon Witch, stop making trouble for no reason. Let's go."

"You... I don't believe I can't force you to fight," Sara said.

Linus looked at Sara. "Unless you're from the Immortal Realm, I won't make a move."

"Is that so? What if I said I know where Evan Yang is?" Sara said with a smile. At her words, not only did Linus look shocked, but everyone around was stunned too.

Evan felt helpless, but he knew Sara wouldn't really reveal his location. She was just trying to get Linus to make a move.

"You really know?" Linus asked, shocked.

"That's right, I know. So, are you going to accept the challenge?" Sara asked with a smile.

"What if you're lying?" Linus Fenn asked.

"If I don't know, I'll let my soul be destroyed," Sara swore on her soul.

Seeing how confident Sara was, Linus stood up. "Fine. Pick a place. If you lose, you tell me where Evan Yang is. Otherwise, I'll destroy you myself."

"We'll see if you can beat me. My Demon Witch title isn't just for show," Sara said, smiling as Linus finally agreed to fight.

"Fine, pick a place," Linus said.

Sara smiled, "Let's go to Devil City's No. 9 Arena! If you lose, I want you to admit in front of everyone that you lost to me. If I lose, I'll tell you where Evan Yang is."
