Footsteps suddenly sounded outside the door where Evan Chu and Roxanne Lin were together. Evan stayed calm, but Roxy was startled, and her moans stopped instantly.
Face tense with worry, Roxy whispered to Evan, "Lin Feng, I think Ivy is coming! What do we do? If she finds out, how can I ever face anyone again?"
"Didn't I tell you? Everything's fine with me here. Let's continue, don't be afraid!" Evan replied nonchalantly.
"No, I can't bear that shame. Even if we have to tell Ivy, it should wait until after her wedding. How am I supposed to face her if you keep going? Hurry and find somewhere to hide!" Roxy said anxiously—maybe the most flustered she'd ever been, sweat beading on her forehead.
Seeing her so distressed, Evan felt a bit sorry for her and smiled, "Alright then! You handle her yourself."
Just then, Princess Ivy arrived outside Roxy's door and called out, "Roxy, what are you doing? Are you sick? Why did I hear those strange sounds?"
At that moment, Evan hurriedly jumped off the bed without even putting on his clothes, instantly using Earthshift to dive into the ground. Seeing Evan disappear into the earth, Roxy finally breathed a sigh of relief.
"I'm fine, what do you need?" Roxy answered quickly, while hurriedly putting on her underwear and breast-wrap. Just as she finished, Ivy pushed the door open and came in—Roxy was now hiding under the covers.
Princess Ivy entered, closed the door, and walked up to Roxy's bedside. "Are you feeling hot? Why is your forehead covered in sweat? Are you sick? With your cultivation, you shouldn't be able to get sick at all!"
"I'm not sick, just feeling a bit weak. Princess Ivy, could you step out for a moment so I can change clothes?" Roxy said hurriedly. If Ivy saw her like this, it would be impossible to explain.
"We're both women, what's there to be shy about? Besides, it's not like I haven't seen your body before—just change right here!" Princess Ivy laughed, but her eyes suddenly landed on something very familiar.
Before Roxy could respond, Princess Ivy said, "Roxy, why are there men's clothes on your bed? And they look like Lin Feng's! What's going on here?"
Not waiting for Roxy's answer, Princess Ivy started searching the room for Evan, but after a long look found no sign of him. Of course, there was only one place she hadn't checked—the covers over Roxy.
She immediately flipped Roxy's quilt open. Underneath, there was only Roxy—wearing just her breast-wrap and underwear, not even a nightgown. The sight left Princess Ivy quite puzzled.
Plus, the bedsheets seemed to have a scent that was both familiar and strange, and she noticed a small damp spot—barely visible, but she still saw it.
Roxy's breast-wrap was even tied carelessly, which convinced Ivy something unusual was going on. Seeing all these clues, she couldn't help but suspect Roxy had been 'doing that sacred thing' with a man—and that man was probably Lin Feng.
After all, his clothes were on the bed—especially the men's underwear, which was impossible to miss. But Ivy had two doubts: first, Lin Feng and Roxy are supposed to be siblings, so it shouldn't be possible; second, Evan was nowhere in the room. All this left her feeling confused.
"Ivy, have you had enough? Seeing me like this, are you imagining I'm messing around with some guy? If you're catching a thief or someone in the act, you have to catch them together—don't jump to conclusions." Roxy snapped, then quickly tied her breast-wrap properly.
"Roxy, I didn't mean it like that. It's just—I heard a strange sound earlier, the kind only men and women make at that time, and then I saw you like this, plus the men's clothes on the bed, so I found it suspicious," Princess Ivy explained quickly.
Roxy is Lin Feng's sister, which makes her Ivy's future sister-in-law—so Ivy couldn't afford to offend her. Still, she hoped Roxy would give her a reasonable explanation.
"I was just dreaming, okay? We're both young women—it's only natural to have some odd dreams. Maybe mine was too vivid and I got too caught up in it, so you heard those sounds and saw the mess. As for the clothes, that's simple: my brother asked me to wash them. I was going to do it after my nap, but I didn't expect you to show up just then," Roxy said.
Princess Ivy stared at Roxy in surprise. "You actually have dreams like that? That's rare. Do you have a guy you like? Otherwise, how could you have such dreams in broad daylight!"
"I don't. But how do you know what sounds I was making—unless you've experienced it yourself? Have you already consummated things with my brother? Be honest, or I'm not letting you leave today!" Roxy shot back, grabbing onto Ivy's slip.
Meanwhile, buried in the earth, Evan was feeling pretty depressed—they'd nearly been caught in the act. What wasn't a big deal had now become a mess thanks to Roxy's explanation, but he could only accept it. He quietly Earthshifted out, found a deserted spot, pulled clothes from his storage ring, and quickly got dressed. If anyone saw him naked now, it would be utterly humiliating.
Once he'd sorted himself out, Evan walked toward Roxy's room. "Roxy, are you there? Have you finished washing my clothes yet?"
With that, Evan's words completely cleared Roxy's name. Princess Ivy immediately opened the door. "Lin Feng, you actually made it back from the Ghostveil Labyrinth! I was just bored and came to check on Roxy."
After saying this, Princess Ivy felt a little embarrassed—how had she forgotten Evan was supposed to be inside the Ghostveil Labyrinth? Roxy would definitely be annoyed with her, but since Ivy was a princess, Roxy held back from getting angry.
"I just came out. I was looking for you, but you weren't in your room, so I came to see my sister instead. Why is she still in bed—is she not feeling well?" Evan asked.
"I'm fine, brother. Can you step out for a moment so I can change?" Roxy said.
Evan immediately turned and left, while Princess Ivy realized she'd misunderstood them—her suspicion really was too much.
"Roxy, I'm sorry. I shouldn't have treated you that way. You're not mad at your big sister, are you?" Princess Ivy said quickly.
"Of course not. I was just afraid you'd tell everyone about this! Since we both have secrets, let's keep them for each other." Roxy laughed. Thankfully, it was a false alarm—Evan's reckless behavior was infuriating, but at least he showed up in time to clear things up. Next time, she swore, she wouldn't let him drag her into trouble again.
