Two months have flashed by—Leon Huang is already a married man.
During those two months, Leon kept things low-key. He spent most days with his new wife and hardly ever left home.
Every once in a while, he'd sneak off to a nearby city to meet up with Snow Yue in secret.
Snow Yue was pretty down after she found out Leon got married. Thanks to his comfort—and some 'compensation'—she slowly bounced back. She knew that, at least for now, Leon couldn't give her any official status. If her identity got out, it'd be a huge mess.
The Heavenly Melody Sect was decked out with lanterns and buzzing with excitement.
Today was the day Elder Nian's youngest disciple, William Nangong, came to take his bride.
William Nangong was already famous in the Heavenly Melody Sect—Elder Nian's youngest disciple, commander of the Martial Soul Army, and a top-tier Grandmaster. It wouldn’t be long before he broke through to Martial Saint.
All the disciples couldn’t help but envy Senior Sister Snow Yue for marrying William Nangong.
Plenty of female disciples even snuck around the mountain gate, hoping to catch a glimpse of William Nangong.
To show proper respect, Sect Master Grace Gao led Faye Mei and the senior elders to stand at the mountain gate, waiting for the groom.
"Faye Mei, how's Snow Yue doing? No chance she'll cause trouble, right?" Grace Gao suddenly asked. She knew her disciple was proud and had a hunch Snow wouldn't just roll over and accept this.
"Don't worry, Grace Gao. I've had people watching her nonstop—shouldn't be any problems." Faye Mei replied, sounding sure of herself. She hadn't let up the surveillance for over two months; under her watch, Snow Yue behaved, like she'd given up.
At the same time, she felt a little annoyed—the kid never showed up, so all her careful planning went down the drain.
"Alright, that’s good to hear." Grace Gao nodded. "But this is crunch time—we can’t let our guard down. Go check for yourself, just in case!"
"Got it!"
With a flicker, Faye Mei's figure vanished and appeared in the courtyard where Snow Yue was staying.
By now, Snow Yue had already been brought down from Hundred Blades Peak. Two female disciples fussed over her hair and makeup, putting on her phoenix crown.
Faye Mei checked her over, found nothing odd, and finally let out a quiet breath of relief.
Near midday, a group showed up at the Heavenly Melody Sect’s mountain gate.
Leading the way was a young man in blazing red robes, perched on a tall horse. Four sharp-eyed, middle-aged men followed behind, all radiating martial energy—you could tell at a glance they were top fighters.
"William Nangong greets Grace Gao."
The tall, handsome young man dismounted and came forward, bowing respectfully to Grace Gao.
"No need to be so formal, William. Please, get up."
Grace Gao stepped forward with a smile and helped William Nangong to his feet.
Meanwhile, the Heavenly Melody Sect’s female disciples hidden around the gate craned their necks to get a good look at William Nangong, then couldn’t help sighing: "This William really is handsome! If only I were the one marrying him."
With Grace Gao personally leading the way, they arrived outside Snow Yue's bridal room. She stopped and said:
"William, my disciple is inside. Go and take her away. You must treat her well from now on!"
"Rest assured, Grace Gao. I'll definitely treat Snow well!"
William Nangong spoke with apparent sincerity, but a flash of malice flickered deep in his eyes. Inwardly, he thought, 'If I don't torment her until she wishes she were dead, I won’t deserve the Nangong name.'
Soon, William Nangong pushed open the door and saw Snow Yue inside, wearing her phoenix crown and wedding robes.
"Everyone else, leave. I have something to say to Snow Yue." William Nangong waved his hand.
"Yes!"
In an instant, everyone else left the room, leaving only William Nangong and Snow Yue. With the others gone, William dropped his facade—his handsome face twisted into a sneer as he spoke coldly, "Snow Yue, I told you I’d marry you. There’s no way you’re escaping now!"
Snow Yue kept her head down and said nothing.
"Weren't you pretty arrogant back in Blood River City? Didn't you help that Leon Huang insult me? What, nothing to say now?" William continued to taunt.
Snow Yue still said nothing.
"Hmph! Don’t think your silence will get you off easy!" William strode forward and lifted Snow Yue’s chin, staring at her beautiful face. A cruel smile flashed across his lips. "Want to know what I’ll do to you once you’re in my house?"
Snow Yue still didn’t respond.
"Fine, silent treatment, huh?" William sneered. "Just wait until we get back to the Holy City—let’s see how I deal with you!"
An hour later, Snow Yue was carried out in a bridal sedan and borne away from the Heavenly Melody Sect.
