Removing the Vermilion Bird Mark II

1/19/2026

Roxanne Lin stared at Evan Chu in shock. Wasn’t this method for removing the Vermilion Bird Mark way too complicated? Not only did it require them to do something so intimate and pleasurable, but she also had to split her focus to perform another task at the same time.

“Evan, I don’t think I can do it. How am I supposed to have the strength to force out Pure Yang Qi in a moment like that? Maybe we should just forget it!” Roxanne’s face was already burning red as she spoke.

“Don’t worry, I’ll be gentle. This isn’t about enjoyment—it’s a matter of life and death, so we can’t afford to be careless. I know you can do it.” Evan grinned, looking for all the world like a sly wolf coaxing Little Red Riding Hood.

Roxanne didn’t know what else to say. Once Evan set his mind to something, he was impossible to talk out of it—he was stubborn to the core.

“Promise you’ll remind me when the time comes? I’m afraid I’ll forget what to do.”

Evan nodded, then pulled the desk closer to the bed. With a thought, he took the Iceflame Crystal out from his storage belt and set it on the desk.

At first, Evan worried the Iceflame Crystal’s freezing cold and blazing heat might wreck the desk, but soon realized it wasn’t a problem—the base of the crystal didn’t leak any energy at all.

“Is this the Iceflame Crystal?” Roxanne asked, gazing at the cold, shimmering stone in front of her.

“That’s right. Don’t underestimate the Iceflame Crystal. Its cold flame can freeze someone solid in an instant, and its fire can burn a person to ashes. If it didn’t have this kind of power, we wouldn’t even be able to attempt the ritual.” Evan explained.

“Isn’t there another way? Like, could you just channel your Pure Yang Qi into it, and I send in my Profound Yin Qi?” Roxanne asked, searching for an easier solution.
