The Wager

Ian only glanced at her before looking away and continued setting up his formation.

A quarter of an hour later.

A much sturdier formation appeared. Although the previous one was set up with full effort, there simply wasn’t enough time.

This time, the layered formation cost a total of fifty thousand god-crystals.

It was a hybrid grand array combining defense and offense, with many hidden prohibitions embedded inside. If the opponent ever let her guard down, those prohibitions would slip in and cause her serious trouble.

Seeing that the woman was still sitting cross-legged, Ian couldn’t help but feel puzzled. He wondered, is she planning to just wait me out?

"Right, I should use those three Medium Lottery draws first!"

With a thought, the Medium Lottery interface appeared.

He reached out and tapped the "Prize" character on the roulette, and the lottery pointer started spinning...

"Ding! Congratulations, Host, you've drawn one Teleportation Divine Talisman!"

The next moment, a dark green divine talisman appeared in Ian's hand. Instantly, he understood its function: the Teleportation Divine Talisman could be activated to teleport up to fifty kilometers in a chosen direction.

If he ever got surrounded, this Teleportation Divine Talisman would be a great escape tool.

But his opponent was a Lower Heavenly God—so even if he teleported a hundred kilometers, she could easily catch up.

So, this Teleportation Divine Talisman couldn't solve his current crisis.

"Again!"

His Slaughter Value dropped by another hundred as the pointer spun again.

"Ding! Congratulations, Host, you've obtained a Cross-Realm Invincibility Divine Talisman!"

The next moment, a golden talisman appeared in Ian's hand. He quickly understood its effect:

Once activated, it would make him invincible across an entire higher realm for three minutes.

In other words, if he used it now, he’d be invincible within the Upper-Rank God realm.

“Alright, time to break out!”

Ian’s expression sharpened. He controlled the puppet to stash his real body inside the storage God-ring.

Then Ian had the puppet withdraw the formation and walk right out in front of the woman in the white dress.

The woman in white stood up, a bit puzzled as she looked at the puppet that looked exactly like Ian. Since puppets aren’t living beings, they don’t give off a soul aura—so what she sensed was Ian’s soul aura.

To her, this puppet was Ian Song himself.

“You actually dared to drop your formation and come out? I’m honestly surprised!”

“How about we make a bet?”

Ian said.

“Oh? What kind of bet?”

A playful glint flashed in the woman’s eyes.

The puppet smiled and said, “Let’s fight. If I lose, I’ll be your slave. If you lose, you’ll be mine. Deal?”

The woman in white was stunned!

Then she sneered, “You’re planning to win with that soul art of yours, right? Well, let me tell you—your trick works on Upper-Rank Gods, but it’s useless against a Lower Heavenly God!”

“Wait—how do you know I have a soul divine ability?”

Ian, controlling the puppet, pretended to panic.

The woman mocked, “The Selena Nangong you killed was my avatar. Everything she saw, I saw too. So? Why not just give up and be my slave?”

The puppet’s face showed stubbornness. “No way. I’m not surrendering!”

“Hmph!” The woman snorted coldly. “Don’t be ungrateful. You killed my avatar—I’m already showing you mercy by not killing you. Kneel and kowtow now, or I’ll end you!”

The puppet kept up the act. “No way—unless we fight by the rules of the bet!”

The woman sneered, “Still hoping for a miracle, huh? Fine, I’ll humor you!”

“What if you lose and try to cheat?”

The puppet looked doubtful.

“Ha! Me, lose?” The woman scoffed.

“But what if you do lose?” The puppet pressed.

The woman’s face turned icy. “You brat! I’m already showing you mercy by giving you a chance, and you still dare to mouth off? Believe it or not, I’ll kill you right now!”

The puppet just laughed fearlessly. “You won’t kill me. If you wanted me dead, you would’ve done it the moment I dropped the formation. I bet you’re after my formation manuals and soul divine art, right?”

“So what?”

The woman didn’t deny it. “Sure, I want those two things from you—but that doesn’t mean I won’t kill you!”

“Then go ahead and try!”

The puppet stood its ground.

The woman was both angry and annoyed, but in the end, she couldn’t bear to kill Ian. She pulled out a gold sheet of paper radiating strange energy from her storage God-ring, scribbled on it, then bit her finger and dripped a drop of blood onto it.

She tossed the gold paper to the puppet and said, “This is a Heavenly Dao Contract. Just sign your name, add a drop of blood, and burn it. Heaven itself will witness our deal. If either of us breaks it, Heavenly Tribulation will strike and erase the violator!”

Ian skimmed the god-script on the gold paper—sure enough, it matched the terms he’d just proposed. At the bottom, the signature read ‘Snow Ouyang.’

“So your real name is Snow Ouyang!”

The puppet smiled and asked.

“Cut the crap and sign it already!” Snow Ouyang snapped.

“Alright, I’ll sign!”

The puppet grinned, quickly wrote Ian Song’s name on the gold paper, and when it came time for the blood, used a drop from Ian’s real body inside the storage God-ring.

The puppet kept up the act. “No way—unless we fight by the rules of the bet!”
