Lily Bai pictured him sprawled out in her bed, sleeping, and couldn't help but smile. She returned to the banquet hall and sat down again beside Luna Lian.
As soon as she sat down, Jenna Summers called out, "Saint Maiden Luna Lian, you seem pretty close with Lily Bai!"
Luna Lian replied coolly, "We're friends."
"You're a dignified Saint Maiden—how come you're making friends with a little immortal from the lower realm?" Jenna laughed lightly. "Is it because of her looks?"
Luna Lian answered, "Her cultivation may not be high, but her character is good. Unlike some people, who call themselves Saint Maiden but are eaten up by jealousy and constantly cause trouble."
Jenna raised her brows. "Oh, stop with the character talk! Everyone can see you only befriend Lily Bai because she looks like Lucia Luan! Isn't that right?"
"She does look like my elder sister," Luna Lian said, "But it's also true that she's a genuinely good person."
Jenna suddenly sneered, "Luna Lian, what are you trying to do, parading her around so openly? Are you deliberately stabbing at our hearts?"
Luna Lian asked, "What do you mean by that?"
"Everyone knows Lucia Luan harmed His Majesty the Celestial Emperor. After what happened to him, all of us were devastated! But you? You bring someone who looks exactly like the culprit to the wedding, just to make everyone miserable and ruin the Divine Lord's big day!"
"Jenna, just shut up!" Ryan Lu snapped. "Lily Bai was formally invited by Southcourt Palace, so what are you even yapping about?"
"Ryan Lu! How dare you talk to me like that!" Jenna Summers glared furiously.
"That's exactly how I talk! So what? This isn't your turf, and you don't have the authority to kick me out, do you?"
"You—" Jenna was livid.
"Enough!" Luna Lian said gently. "It is the Divine Lord's wedding, so let's not waste time bickering. Lily Bai and her master were indeed formally invited by Southcourt Palace! I asked her to sit beside me because I need her help with something. I hope the Second Heir-Consort will be generous and, for the Divine Lord's sake, turn a blind eye."
"Your whole family—you're the only one who knows how to talk." Jenna Summers took the chance to back down, but still sniped coldly.
Luna Lian smiled. "I heard Second Prince Victor Xiao has gone blind. Do you know what happened?"
Jenna's face darkened. She shot Lily Bai a look and said, "He'll recover! No need for you to worry."

Jenna was stuck—she couldn't agree, couldn't argue. She just looked away, sulking in silence.

Jenna Summers took a deep breath. "Mia Quinn! If you don't know, stop spouting nonsense! It was just an accident!"

But her silence was even sharper than her words. The guests all shot Jenna Summers strange looks and started whispering among themselves.
Jenna couldn't take it anymore and got up to leave the hall.
As she left, she shot Lily Bai a vicious glare.
Lily Bai just responded with a polite smile.
