Caw, caw, caw! A crow leisurely flew over the Shen family estate, glancing down at the crowd below. Seeing so many people gathered but no one making a sound, the crow couldn't help but caw a few more times before curiously landing on a tree branch.
"What? Divorce letters?!" Steward Liu shouted after a few seconds of stunned silence, and instantly, the entire main hall erupted.
"Miss wants to divorce her husbands!"
"Oh my god, is Miss being silly again? She worked so hard to win them over in the first place!"
"Good, let her divorce them! Now we've got a chance!"
"This is absolutely earth-shattering news!" The servants were so shocked they lost all composure and started chattering wildly.
"Quiet!" Steward Liu hurriedly scolded the noisy crowd. Instantly, everyone fell silent. Steward Liu anxiously approached Ivy Shen and asked, "Miss, you're not joking, are you? Do you really mean to divorce all four sons-in-law? Do you realize..." He paused, not finishing his sentence, but his expression clearly showed he didn't approve.
Seeing this, Adrian Night suddenly curled his lips into a smirk and returned to his seat. He was determined to see what kind of stunt this woman was about to pull!
"Do you even know what you're saying? Divorce? Are you sure?" Lucian Vane narrowed his eyes, trying to see through her act.
"Wife... Did I do something wrong?" Liam Willow couldn't help but stand up and ask in a soft, aggrieved voice, his handsome face full of hurt.
Seeing this, Ivy Shen quickly avoided his heartbreakingly pitiful expression. She absolutely could not waver—she couldn’t have husbands, or else she’d end up laying eggs!
"Divorce, huh? Hmm... Let me calculate if I'm losing out or not." Caleb Miles immediately picked up his abacus and started clicking away, "pa-pa-pa," doing the math.
"I gathered everyone here today because I want you all to be my witnesses. So yes, it’s absolutely real!" Ivy Shen declared resolutely. As if she’d joke about something like this?!
Hearing this, Lucian Vane suddenly laughed. The moment he did, all the men and women below practically saw hearts in their eyes. "Why do I suddenly feel like I can’t tell which play you’re acting in anymore?!"
"I’m not acting, Lucian Vane, Adrian Night, Caleb Miles—I know you three don’t care for me. I’ve figured it out now: a forced melon isn’t sweet, so I’m setting you free." With that, she turned to Liam Willow, her mood a little heavy since he’d always been good to her. "As for you, I’m not worthy. Besides, you studied so hard and finally became the Number One Scholar. If you don’t go be an official, it’s just a waste of your time and talent. So I’m letting you go, so you can build your career."
"But I don’t care about that. I only care about—"
"Enough, that’s settled! This is a break-up meal—eat up and then you can all leave." Ivy Shen cut him off without hesitation.
"A break-up meal? You’re just sending us off like that? I can’t help but feel like I’m getting the short end of the stick here!" Caleb Miles frowned, looking up from his calculations. Something didn’t add up!
Hearing this, Ivy Shen kept eating without looking up. "Steward Liu, give them each some extra silver." See? She was being generous!
"I don’t agree!" Out of nowhere, the always-cold Adrian Night suddenly spoke up.
"Huh?" Ivy Shen paused mid-chicken-leg, looking up at Adrian Night in surprise. What did he just say?!
Adrian Night suddenly flashed a wickedly charming smile. The servants, who had never seen the eldest son-in-law smile before, immediately started buzzing with excitement.
But to Ivy Shen, that handsome smile just sent chills down her spine.
"Divorce? Then give me a reason first!" With that, Adrian Night sat down, arms crossed, and stared right at her.
"Ah?!" Ivy Shen was so shocked by his refusal that her chicken leg slipped from her mouth and landed on the plate with a loud thud. Wait—wasn’t divorce supposed to be easy? Why did she need a reason?!
