I'm Not Playing Fair Today

President Byron White wanted nothing more than to kick her right now.

But he still had to coax her.

Today was the most critical day—the one that would decide victory or defeat.

For his family, nothing mattered more than Yvette Whiteshire marrying the Crown Prince!

He had to get Grace to agree to go along with him.

And then... let the Crown Prince see and hear it for himself!

Thinking of this, he took a deep breath and said, "Shopkeeper, who ordered these two Spirit Gems?"

"I'm afraid I can't reveal customer information. I hope you understand," the shopkeeper replied.

"Doesn't matter who it is—I'll buy them!" Byron White declared. "If anyone wants them back, tell them to come to the Fourth Prince's Residence!"

"You're the Fourth Prince?" The shopkeeper beamed. "I'm afraid it's not that simple! The people who ordered these aren't short on money, and they warned me a thousand times not to make any mistakes."

"You bastard!" Grace slapped the shopkeeper hard across the face. "What? The Fourth Prince's word doesn't mean anything here in Sigil City?"

The shopkeeper was furious, but for the sake of the Fourth Prince, he swallowed his anger, lowered his head, and said each word slowly: "We merchants live by our word. Please, Your Highness, don't make things difficult for a commoner like me!"

Byron White was about to speak, but Grace slapped the shopkeeper again, making his face swell. She said arrogantly and fiercely, "Are you warning us—or threatening the Fourth Prince?"

Byron shot Grace a look, his brows tightly furrowed.

On this continent, every powerful family that could build an empire was backed by a divine spirit.

As for the Eastern Luo Empire, their backing was the Drake Divine Spirits.

The Drake Divine Spirits valued self-discipline above all.

They hated it when their followers abused their power.

So, as a prince and President of the Spirit Alliance, Byron cared more about his reputation than anyone else.

Otherwise, if word got back to his father and mother, he'd be in serious trouble.

The shopkeeper was nearly coughing up blood from the beating, but kept his head down and said, "I wouldn't dare threaten you! But even the Fourth Prince should play fair, shouldn't he?"

"If you won't drink the wine I offer, you'll drink the punishment wine instead! Today, I'm not playing fair—so what?" Grace snatched the two Spirit Gems and stuffed them into her pocket.

Byron's forehead veins bulged. He said, "Shopkeeper, tell the person who ordered these Spirit Gems to come find me at the Fourth Prince's Residence. I—"

"Let them come!" Grace interrupted Byron, her voice harsh and menacing. "I'd like to see if they dare show up at my door!"

After that, she flashed Byron a sly smile. "Right, President?"

Byron's eye twitched.

"President, let's go!" Grace bounced out the door, cheerful as ever.

Byron had no choice but to follow her out.

"President, are we going to visit any other Spirit Gem shops? There are more out there!"

"No more!" Byron said quickly. "It's getting late—how about I take you out to eat instead?"

"Sounds good!" Grace replied with a bright smile.

So Byron took her and got into the carriage, heading straight for the outskirts of Sigil City.

"President, didn't you say we're going to eat? Why are we leaving Sigil City?" Grace asked.

"I know a private countryside restaurant that's absolutely amazing," Byron said with a smile. "Let me take you there."

"Really?" Grace felt a little uneasy, but pretended to be interested. "I remember Felix Xi mentioning some private countryside restaurant called... Xu Family Cuisine. Is that the one?"

She was just fishing for information about their destination—'Xu Family Cuisine' was totally made up.
