Glancing at the gently smiling Quentin Hua, Sylas Ren couldn't help but mutter angrily, "What kind of man needs a woman to protect him?" Roxy Shangguan's strength made him classify her as a woman, not a child!
Roxy Shangguan snorted, and Sylas Ren glanced at her, then slumped to the side with a face full of grievance. Who could tell him why he kept getting bullied by a little kid?
After quite a while, Quentin Hua finally spoke, "So, what do you want?"
"Oh..." Sylas Ren snapped back to reality, his expression growing more serious. "You almost made me forget. You owe me a favor this time!" As he spoke, he pulled out a letter and handed it to Quentin Hua.
Quentin Hua frowned slightly, took the letter, opened the envelope, and unfolded the paper inside. After a quick glance, he casually crushed it, the letter turning to powder and drifting away.
Sylas Ren noticed his expressionless face, completely unmoved, and couldn't help but raise an eyebrow. Even though he hadn't read the letter, he knew what it was about. Quentin Hua's reaction was entirely unexpected.
Quentin Hua lazily lifted his gaze and swept it over him, issuing a dismissal: "You may leave now."
Sylas Ren's mind spun, and he asked, "Aren't you going to Sunflower Town?"
"That has nothing to do with you!"
"But it does concern you!"
A trace of displeasure appeared in Quentin Hua's eyes as he spoke with a hint of sarcasm, "Since when does The Wanderer meddle in other people's business?"
Sylas Ren shrugged indifferently, "I just want you to owe me a favor, that's all." If it hadn't involved Quentin Hua, he wouldn't have bothered delivering the letter.
Quentin Hua snorted, "Then you've miscalculated!"
Roxy Shangguan yawned, hugged Quentin Hua and snuggled against him, mumbling sleepily, "Hua Hua, I'm so tired." She was still a child and couldn't stay up late.
Quentin Hua lay down a bit, letting her sleep on him. He glanced at Sylas Ren, impatience in his voice: "Do I have to ask you to leave?"
"No need!" Sylas Ren left on his own, and as he closed the door behind him, he hesitated and said, "Quentin Hua, don't do anything you'll regret." He admired Quentin Hua, which was why he offered the extra warning.
After the door closed, Quentin Hua's eyelids drooped, a mocking smile curling at his lips. Regret? He had never regretted anything. Even when controlled by the Blood Wraith, when life was worse than death, he had never regretted it—and he never would.
Feeling the person in his arms stir, Quentin Hua looked down, the coldness in his eyes fading as he asked gently, "What's wrong?"
Roxy Shangguan nuzzled up to his lips and kissed the corner of his mouth, her little face serious: "Hua Hua, I told you, if anything happens, I'll stand up for you. So, just knock down anyone you dislike. I don't want to see you unhappy."
Quentin Hua reached out and rubbed her head, his gaze growing softer as he smiled, "Alright." He now knew Roxy Shangguan wasn't just saying it—she truly had the ability.
On the street, a breathtakingly handsome man carried a soft, pink-cheeked little girl in his arms, strolling leisurely. From time to time, he bought snacks or little toys from the stalls and handed them to the girl, his eyes full of adoration and a gentle smile warming the hearts of onlookers. The young women watching him felt their hearts flutter, faces blushing as if struck by Cupid's arrow.
Following behind was a suave man dressed in black, but he kept studying the pink-cheeked little girl as if she were a strange creature, leaving others puzzled.
People on the street followed his gaze—there was nothing unusual! She didn't have three heads or six arms, just happened to be a bit too cute.
Quentin Hua casually picked up a Red Agate Hair Tie from a stall. It wasn't anything particularly fancy, but it was the best they had. He glanced at the man behind him, squinting with a mischievous smile, "Sylas Ren, do you believe I'll gouge out your eyeballs?" That slightly wicked smile was both dangerous and irresistibly charming.
Seeing all the women on the street blushing and lovestruck, Roxy Shangguan snorted coldly, "A bunch of hopeless romantics!"
Sylas Ren twitched his lips, unsure whether to be speechless at Quentin Hua or at Roxy Shangguan.
Quentin Hua tossed down a piece of Imperial Silver, tying the Red Agate Hair Tie onto Roxy Shangguan's head. The vivid red agate made her face look even more delicate and adorable, though her expression at the moment was far from happy.
Roxy Shangguan reached out and tugged at Quentin Hua's face, bossily declaring, "No smiling!"
Her domineering words only made Quentin Hua laugh out loud, much to Roxy Shangguan's frustration! She suddenly felt that being too captivating was simply unforgivable!
Suddenly, Roxy Shangguan pried herself out of Quentin Hua's arms and jumped down, dashing toward a nearby stall. Quentin Hua raised an eyebrow and followed after her.
Roxy Shangguan stood on tiptoe, pointing at a mask on the stall and said to the vendor, "Give me the scariest one!"
Sylas Ren glanced at the terrifying mask with fangs and dripping blood, then looked at Quentin Hua's enchanting face, grinning with schadenfreude.
Quentin Hua couldn't be bothered with him. He walked over and paid, letting Roxy Shangguan use the terrifying mask to cover his face completely.
Roxy Shangguan inspected it and nodded in satisfaction. Scary enough!
Quentin Hua continued to carry her as they walked on, completely ignoring Sylas Ren behind them. He bought a sugar figurine and handed it to Roxy Shangguan, asking, "Are you hungry?"
Before Roxy Shangguan could answer, Sylas Ren interjected, "You should be asking if she's full yet! Eating all the way down the street—how could she possibly be hungry?"
Roxy Shangguan narrowed her eyes and snorted coldly. Sylas Ren obediently shut his mouth. Although he felt stifled, this little demon really was scary and violent. Best to know when to yield—a true man can bend and stretch, nothing shameful about it!
Roxy Shangguan hugged Quentin Hua's neck and shook it, "Hua Hua, I want sweet duck!"
Sylas Ren smacked his lips. He'd finally realized just how much this little demon loved sweets—if it had sugar, she liked it. He couldn't help but wonder if her high combat power came from eating so many sweets!
