Hearing that, Ian Song took the chance to back down and laughed, "Haha, Chief Han, I was just joking with you earlier. Hope you didn’t take it to heart!"
Jason Han: ...
Jason Han took a deep breath, trying not to lose his temper again. "Landon, I called you here today mainly to confirm something with you."
"Go ahead, Chief Han," Ian said with a smile.
Seeing Ian so cooperative, Jason Han was a bit surprised. He looked at him and asked, "What star level Psychic Adept are you now?"
"Just broke through to two-star," Ian replied.
"What, you just reached two-star?" Jason Han exclaimed, his eyes still full of doubt.
"If you don't believe me, Chief Han, you can test it yourself."
"No need, I believe you," Jason Han waved his hand. "By the way, Landon, how did you hypnotize the 96th Division's Guard Company soldiers before?"
Ian looked like he didn’t care at all. "Oh, you mean that? After I became a Psychic Adept, I collected some info on LightNet about using psychic power. I happened to find a theory about human magnetic-field frequencies that made sense to me, so I studied it. Turns out, if you use that theory for hypnosis, it works great—that's how I managed to hypnotize so many people at once."
Jason Han's eyes narrowed, a sharp glint flashing within. "Then how do you grasp other people's magnetic-field frequencies?"
"Naturally, I just sense it," Ian replied, giving Jason Han a look that seemed to say, "What a dumb question."
"How do you sense it?" Jason Han pressed.
Ian gave Jason Han a strange look and said, "Chief Han, the way I sense other people's magnetic-field frequencies is just like how I see you. My eyes are born to see, my nose is born to smell. That's how I sense it. You get it?"
"So you're saying your ability to sense magnetic-field frequencies is innate?" Jason Han stared at Ian, as if trying to see through him.
"Of course it's innate!" Ian said, a little impatient.
"Impossible! No one can be born able to sense other people's magnetic-field frequencies!" Jason Han exclaimed, disappointment flickering in his eyes. If Ian's ability is truly innate, then his hypnosis method can't be widely taught.
"Believe it or not!" Ian shrugged.
......
Ten minutes later, Ian returned to the Mesa City Special Police Base, secretly guessing which side Jason Han really belonged to. Judging by his expression, Ian had successfully fooled him—now it was up to Jason's backers whether they'd buy it.
