Sweeping Out the Leadership Circle?

12/2/2025

After being repeatedly intimidated by Alexander Hayes, Zachary Yan's nerves were stretched to their limit. Now, with Alexander suddenly launching an accusation and claiming the House of Zhao harbored rebellious intent, Zachary was so frightened he nearly collapsed, kowtowing over and over: "Your Highness, please investigate thoroughly! We are eternally grateful for your mercy and are completely loyal to you—there is absolutely no rebellious intent!"

"Absolutely no rebellious intent? Tsk..." Alexander's voice was slow, but every word landed like a ton of bricks on the heads of the Zhao family members, making it hard for them to breathe.

"Zachary Yan, why does the Clan Chief Candidate List you submitted to me include names from the rebel faction?" Alexander snorted coldly.

Zachary was falling apart from Alexander's relentless pressure, tears and snot streaming down his face: "Your Highness, what do you mean by that? There's no rebels on the Clan Chief Candidate List! The rebel list has already been handed over to you!"

"That's right, you did submit a rebel list to me. But that list was incomplete and missed many people. Yet, those missing rebels appear on the Clan Chief Candidate List. So, House of Zhao, tell me—how do you explain that?" Alexander finished speaking and stood up, his gaze sweeping slowly over every member of the Zhao family.

At first, Zachary didn't understand what Alexander was getting at, but then realization dawned, and his heart skipped a beat. This was bad.

Zachary knew that many members of the Zhao family had secretly sent denunciation letters to Prince Alexander, exposing so-called 'rebels'—who were mostly rivals competing for the clan chief position.

Zachary himself had also secretly sent such denunciation letters, all to undermine his competitors.

Besides his own letters, Zachary had no idea how many other Zhao family members had sent similar secret letters to Alexander, nor did he know who was named in those letters.

But one thing was certain: many of those named in the secret denunciation letters were strong candidates for clan chief, and there was a lot of overlap with the official Clan Chief Candidate List!

Zachary quickly figured it out, and the rest of the Zhao family did too.

Originally, they wrote those secret denunciation letters hoping Alexander Hayes would help them eliminate their rivals. Who could have guessed that Alexander would turn those very letters against them!

Everyone knows those letters are just products of internal power struggles—Alexander must understand that. But from the looks of it, is he planning to wipe out everyone mentioned in those denunciation letters, all in one sweep?

Oh heavens, wouldn’t that mean wiping out the entire Zhao family’s core leadership group?

When Alexander first arrived, he didn’t know who the real power players in the Zhao family were. But thanks to these denunciation letters, he now had a complete list of everyone who truly called the shots.

The Zhao family still had no idea how many denunciation letters there were, or how many people would be implicated!

Would those who were reported end up being branded as rebels and executed?

Some members of the Zhao family, unable to withstand the pressure, rolled their eyes and fainted on the spot.

Even the usually steady and composed Zachary Yan collapsed to the ground, his face deathly pale with fear. He knew there were many people vying for the clan chief position, and his own name was surely on at least one—or even several—denunciation letters...

Sean Hayes walked over carrying a tray piled high with denunciation letters, the stack forming a small mountain.

Seeing so many denunciation letters, the Zhao family members felt utterly hopeless.

Alexander pointed to the letters and said, "Your own people secretly reported the rebels within your clan to me. These denunciations are the most effective way to root out traitors once and for all."
