"Fairness?"
Hearing Evan Lin put extra emphasis on 'roll down the mountain,' the crowd totally lost it and burst out laughing.
Someone shouted at Evan Lin, "Hey kid, you got any clue who you're mouthing off to? You want fairness? Sure! But you better show up with the same background as Keene No. 2 before you start talking about fairness!"
"Yeah, where'd this wild kid pop up from, always trying to make himself the main character? There's no such thing as real fairness in this world! Keene No. 2 lowering himself to race you is already the biggest fairness you'll ever get! Don't act all innocent when you're the one getting the good end of the deal!"
A bunch of people started heckling Evan Lin.
Keene No. 2 looked Evan Lin up and down, clearly interested. Seeing Evan's calm, steady eyes—totally unfazed by the crowd—Keene was honestly a bit surprised.
"Fine!"
Keene No. 2 nodded. "I'll reluctantly agree to your ridiculous request. But just like you said—whoever loses has to roll down the mountain!"
He smirked, his tone turning vicious: "If you won't roll yourself, don't blame me for not giving you face—I'll have someone help you roll!"
After he finished, Keene No. 2 shot a glance at Yvonne Zhu. "This race is for you, Yvonne. Watch me set a new record!"
He burst out laughing and hopped into his car.
"Hey, looks like you don't even have a car, huh? Come on, I'll let you borrow mine—enjoy the ride! Bet you've never even touched a supercar this nice before!"
Victor Zhu, standing off to the side, dangled his car keys. His ride was a tricked-out Lamborghini—crazy expensive, and modded to the max.
Lending it to Evan Lin made his heart ache, but just thinking about Keene No. 2 maybe wiping Evan out on the track got him all hyped up.
Compared to the price of the car, Victor Zhu cared way more about his reputation.
"No need," Evan Lin shook his head, then walked straight over to Yvonne Zhu's Mini. "This one'll do."
"This one? You serious?"
Victor Zhu froze, totally confused.
"Is this kid car-blind or what? Racing a Mini against an Aston Martin? The horsepower gap alone is insane—what's he even thinking?"
"Does this guy not know cars or what? He's basically giving up before the race even starts! He was just yelling about fairness, and I thought maybe he actually had some skills!"
