"Sean Xun was not killed by me," Joe Di said calmly, without a trace of worry in his heart.
The Xun Family definitely couldn't suppress Ann Tu Ning. If they could, Ann Tu Ning's spaceship would have been besieged the moment it landed on the plaza, rather than waiting until now to deal with him.
As he spoke, Joe Di was already setting up Law Array Banners. This guy was at best a newly advanced Dao Nurturing cultivator, while Joe Di himself was at Dao Shaping perfection. Even without a law trapping array, Joe Di figured he had nothing to fear from him.
"Ha ha..." The Dao Nurturing man laughed loudly, grabbing a magical treasure as his violent Dao Nurturing domain pressed down on Joe Di. "Whether you killed him or not, there's no need to explain now. Come with me to the Xun Family ancestral hall and sort it out there."
A few outer disciples in the distance saw the commotion and came over to watch. The Xun Family's Dao Nurturing cultivator shouted, "This man killed Sean Xun, a disciple of our Xun Family. If you're not involved, stay away—if you're injured by mistake, I'm not responsible!"
Hearing it was someone from the Xun Family, the cultivators who had come out to watch quickly returned to their caves.
An outer disciple—how could anyone afford to provoke the Xun Family?
"What is the Xun Family anyway? Even your ancestors couldn't summon me." Joe Di sneered, already prepared to kill the Dao Nurturing cultivator.
Once he killed this Dao Nurturing cultivator, he'd spend three days collecting herbs in the sect's Origin Dao Herb Garden.
If not for Ann Tu Ning as his backing, he would have to leave right now—killing a Dao Nurturing cultivator from the Xun Family would be out of the question. But with Ann Tu Ning supporting him, Joe Di believed she would investigate the cause and strike back afterward.
This Dao Nurturing cultivator from the Xun Family was showing off at the entrance of his cave residence, and plenty of people saw it. If Ann Tu Ning dared to kill Sean Xun, it meant she wasn't afraid of the Xun Family. Now Joe Di had the upper hand, and having recently made great contributions to the sect, Ann Tu Ning would surely protect him. If she couldn't even do that, she wouldn't have risen to the position of Valley Master.
The Dao Nurturing cultivator hadn't expected Joe Di to be so bold. He was momentarily stunned, then said coldly, "You're the most arrogant outer disciple I've ever met..."
But before he could finish speaking, Joe Di's Azure Veil Blade had already slashed toward him.
The Dao Nurturing cultivator from the Xun Family was nearly enraged to the point of coughing blood—not just because Joe Di ignored the Xun Family, but because a mere outer disciple dared to attack a Dao Nurturing cultivator like him. It was simply courting death.
He summoned a longsword, unleashing endless sword light.
Boom! The sword light collided with Joe Di's Azure Veil Blade. Joe Di grunted, feeling a heavy pressure in his chest.
Instead, Joe Di felt relieved. He'd been worried about the gap between himself and a Dao Nurturing cultivator, but now it seemed there was no gap at all. In fact, his divine essence felt even more refined than the opponent's.
"Huh?" Seeing Joe Di unharmed in the midst of his sword light domain, the Dao Nurturing cultivator was surprised. He raised his longsword, and faint, continuous sword mountains began to form.
How could Joe Di let the opponent's technique take shape? His law array had already formed a strangling force around the Dao Nurturing cultivator, while the Azure Veil Blade transformed into a faint blade light, slashing toward the forming sword mountains.
"Strangler Array?" As soon as Joe Di activated the array, the Dao Nurturing cultivator from the Xun Family sensed it and was startled. He'd been here for days, checking many times, and was sure there were no arrays. How did this Strangler Array suddenly appear?
He quickly realized that this Strangler Array wasn't set up with tangible array banners, but seemed to use some kind of world law technique...
How was this possible? A shadow crept into the Dao Nurturing cultivator's heart. He prepared to seriously wound Joe Di in a single move and take him back to the Xun Family.
If Joe Di really had such a Strangler Array, by the time the sect stewards arrived, he might not have finished off Joe Di. Dragging out the fight would do him no good.
Boom, boom, boom! The violent killing aura of the Strangler Array clashed with the Dao Nurturing cultivator's domain, erupting in thunderous roars.
The Dao Nurturing cultivator's domain shattered inch by inch. Joe Di wouldn't let this opportunity slip by—his Lawbreaker Slash crashed down on the opponent's sword mountain technique. The Xun Family cultivator didn't want to drag out the fight, and neither did Joe Di. A swift battle was best for both.
In that instant, the sword mountain seemed to lose its structure and sword aura. When it struck Joe Di's domain, it was like a breeze passing by, crumbling into dust.
"My technique's laws..." The Dao Nurturing cultivator had sharp eyes and immediately realized his sword mountain technique had lost its underlying laws. Without laws, it wasn't a technique at all.
In other words, Joe Di's last slash had actually torn apart the laws behind his sword mountain technique. What kind of technique was this?
The Xun Family had completely underestimated Joe Di's strength. He had to get word to the family as soon as possible.
In the next instant, a continuous mountain of fists crashed toward his face.
Under the mountain of fists, peaks clustered together and waves roared in fury!
At this point, the Dao Nurturing cultivator didn't care about Joe Di's Strangler Array. He hastily swept up his longsword, gathering divine essence, and clashed with Joe Di's mountain of fists. The mountains formed by fist intent shattered, and the raging sea broke its banks.
Boom, boom, boom! The explosive divine essence once again flattened the area. As the Dao Nurturing cultivator tore apart Joe Di's mountain of fists, Joe Di's Strangler Array had already left him gravely wounded.
Joe Di wouldn't let this chance slip by. His Azure Veil Blade once again transformed into a blade light and tore downward.
Joe Di's powerful domain killing intent enveloped the Dao Nurturing cultivator. A deadly aura swept over him as the cultivator shouted, "I, Benedict Xun of the Xun Family, have already stepped into the second stage and am highly valued by the sect. If you dare kill me, not even Ann Tu Ning can protect you..."
Pfft! A jet of blood spurted out as Joe Di's Azure Veil Blade split the Dao Nurturing cultivator from the Xun Family in two.
"So much for Dao Nurturing," Joe Di snorted, pocketing a ring. Then a fireball reduced the Xun Family's Dao Nurturing cultivator to ashes.

This bastard came to kill him, yet still tried to use the Xun Family's power to suppress him. Where did this sense of superiority come from?
After killing the Dao Nurturing cultivator, Joe Di didn't linger at his cave residence for even a moment. He left the Outer Sect mountain and headed straight for the Origin Dao Herb Garden.
In this kind of internal sect conflict, as long as Ann Tu Ning wasn't killed, he would remain safe and sound. So after Joe Di slew the Dao Nurturing cultivator, he wasn't even surprised.
When disaster strikes, the strong stand tall. He didn't have Ann Tu Ning's communication pearl, so he couldn't send her a message, but Joe Di wasn't worried. This sort of thing would come to light as soon as someone investigated.
Few people had entered the Origin Dao Herb Garden. When Joe Di arrived with Ann Tu Ning's order token and stated his intent to enter, the steward guarding the garden stared at him in astonishment, repeatedly sizing him up.
An entry token for the herb garden was no ordinary item—even someone like Valley Master Ann Tu Ning only possessed one. To obtain another, one would have to make an enormous contribution to the sect.
Who was Joe Di, anyway? An outer disciple with Valley Master Ann's order token?
Joe Di didn't mind the steward's scrutiny of his token. As long as it was genuine, he had no worries about getting in.
Sure enough, after a thorough inspection, the steward confirmed that Joe Di's token was authentic. He finally said, "You may enter. In three days, you'll be automatically transported out."
"Thank you." Without a moment's hesitation, Joe Di dashed into the sect's herb garden.
...
Ann Tu Ning knew the sect leader would emerge from seclusion within the next couple of days, so she waited outside his closed-door cultivation sanctuary.
She didn't have to wait long. The sanctuary doors opened, and a man with long purple whiskers and hair stepped out.
"Ann Tu Ning of Origin Spring Valley greets the Sect Leader. Congratulations on elevating your divine abilities once again." Upon seeing the man, Ann Tu Ning hurried forward and bowed in respect, her voice brimming with joy.
"Ha ha..." The purple-whiskered man laughed heartily. "Valley Master Ann, you've been waiting here—surely you have something urgent to discuss?"
"Congratulations on your return, Sect Leader." Another voice rang out, offering congratulations before turning resentful. "While you were in seclusion, Ann Tu Ning colluded with outsiders, wantonly slaughtering loyal disciples of our Origin Dao Sect."
The purple-whiskered man's expression darkened. He frowned and said, "Peak Master Wang, Valley Master Ann is the Origin Spring Valley's master. Accusing her of colluding with outsiders to kill sect disciples is not something to say lightly."
The cultivator who rushed over was a man in golden robes. Hearing the sect leader's words, he grew even more agitated. "Sect Leader, while you were in seclusion, Ann Tu Ning first killed the outer disciple Sean Xun—just to support a newcomer with an unclear background who had only recently joined our sect. Then, half an hour ago, that same outer disciple she brought in used vicious means to ambush and kill our inner disciple Sean Qi..."
