A Speck of Dust in the Eye

Evan Lin shook his head. "If you're not afraid of trouble, go ahead and report it."

"Tell everyone inside I'm here to send them off to reincarnation. Maybe they'll get lucky next time around."

Evan Lin's tone was calm, but his words left the three gatekeepers momentarily stunned.

"Hahaha, what did you just say? You're planning to send the Ancient-Martial Ma Clan to reincarnation?" One man exaggeratedly opened his mouth and burst into wild laughter.

"Did you get your head caught in a door or something?" another sneered. "You really think bragging is free in this world?"

The one-eyed leader had been wondering if Evan Lin had any connection to the Ancient-Martial Ma Clan, but hearing his words, he relaxed.

"Just a couple of idiots who don't know their limits, and you want to send the Ancient-Martial Ma Clan to reincarnation?"

He sneered and stepped forward. "Since you dare to talk big, don't blame me for being rough."

"Once I deal with you and bring you to the clan head, maybe he'll reward me with some pills. It'll count as a small achievement!"

As soon as he finished speaking, his gaze sharpened and he started to move forward.

Suddenly, his body froze.

All he saw was Evan Lin flick his finger lightly.

A speck of dust flew out, slicing through the air and nearly brushing the man's cheek.

The powerful energy, sharper and colder than a blade, instantly shattered the barrier of force around him. The terrifying pressure left him frozen in place.

Before he could react, he suddenly smelled something unusual.

His heart skipped a beat, his neck moved uncontrollably, and as he turned to look behind him, his mind was instantly thrown into panic.

Anyone who could find the Ancient-Martial Ma Clan's gate was either someone who'd been here before or had received an invitation.

After all, this place was always kept secret.

Ordinary people couldn't find this place at all.

"No invitation," Evan Lin replied, tone flat.

"We'll be there in at most an hour."

Yuna watched the road passing by.

Today, Evan was driving much slower than yesterday. It was obvious he was doing it to spare her body.

Evan didn't say it, but Yuna understood.

Thinking this way, any lingering resentment in Yuna's heart faded away.

After driving for over an hour, the car stopped at a plaza.

All around, the ground was paved with pure white marble tiles, glowing ivory-white. Sunlight fell on the ground, reflecting a faint sheen.

Once the car was parked, Evan got out and looked around.

The place was out in the suburbs, surrounded by mountains and woods. Only this plaza seemed like it belonged in a city, totally out of place with everything around it.

"The Ancient-Martial Ma Family is here?"

Evan looked around, standing on the plaza's surface. He could feel a cold chill beneath his feet.

But there was nothing in sight.

"It's right here, but the Ma Family's gate only opens for two hours every day, roughly from one to three in the afternoon."

Yuna nodded. "Last time I came, someone escorted us inside."

"You just have to wait here. When the time comes, the road to the Ma Family will appear."

Yuna didn't seem anxious. She found a shady spot nearby and sat down.

Evan glanced around, about to send out the Three Maiden Spirits to scout the area.

Suddenly, a harsh shout rang out from nearby.

"Who are you? How dare you show up at the Ma Family's gate! Don't you know this isn't a place just anyone can come to?"

Three men rushed out from the woods nearby, moving fast and arriving in front of them in an instant.

The leader was a one-eyed man, looking vicious, his whole body wrapped in a barrier of condensed inner force. He held a long staff, energy swirling around it.

A Vajra Realm expert.

The other two stood on either side, watching Evan with wary eyes.

When they saw Yuna sitting off to the side, their eyes clearly lit up.

"You came at just the right time."

Evan looked at the three. "I want to go in. Lead the way."

Evan's tone was calm.

His words instantly changed their expressions.

"Who do you think you are? You think you can just walk in because you say so?" One man stepped forward, glaring fiercely at Evan.

"Do you know this is the Ma Family's territory? This is an Ancient-Martial clan! Why do you talk like you're shopping for cabbage at the market?" The other man was full of dissatisfaction.

The three of them were gatekeepers for the Ma Family.

Normally, anyone wanting to enter the Ma Family to study martial arts had to go through layers of applications.

Now, seeing this kid in front of them talking so casually about going inside, it made them furious.

If the Ma Family was so easy to get into, wouldn't that mean they were useless as guards?

"Where did you two come from, anyway?"

The one-eyed leader thought for a moment, then looked at Evan and asked in a steady tone, "Do you have an invitation from the Ma Family?"

Anyone who could find the Ma Family's gate was either someone who'd been here before or had received an invitation from the Ma Family.

"No invitation."

Evan shook his head. "If you're not afraid of trouble, go ahead and report it."

"Tell everyone inside that I'm here to send them all to reincarnation. Maybe they'll get a better start next life."

Evan's tone was calm, and his words clearly stunned the three men.

"Hahaha, what did you just say? You're going to send the Ma Family to reincarnation?" One man exaggeratedly opened his mouth and burst into wild laughter.

"Did you get your head caught in a door or something?" another sneered. "You really think bragging doesn't cost anything in this world?"

The leader had been wondering if Evan had any connection to the Ma Family, but hearing his words, he relaxed.

"Just a couple of idiots who don't know their limits, and you want to send the Ma Family to reincarnation?"

He sneered and stepped forward. "Since you dare to talk big, don't blame me for being rough."
