Ray Tang stared in disbelief as Annabelle Hung vanished into the dark halo. Even after she was completely gone, Ray wandered around the spot, but couldn't figure out how it worked.
Ray Tang finally asked Shawn Young in shock, "Uh, Brother Shawn, what kind of magic did that... that Miss Hung just use? She disappeared right in front of us, and she showed up the same way—quiet as a ghost! If I had that skill, assassinating or ambushing enemies would be a piece of cake!"
Shawn Young laughed, "Yeah! It definitely could work for that."
As he spoke, Shawn Young secretly made up his mind to get his hands on Annabelle Hung's 'Thousand-Mile Shrinking Technique.' With that, he could travel anywhere and save on travel expenses.
Just then, gunfire erupted in the distance, growing fiercer by the second. Soon, a Dragon Clear Brotherhood hall master ran over, clutching his bleeding arm, and anxiously reported to Ray Tang, "Boss, we're about to be surrounded! The Yamaguchi Syndicate sent three elite violent squads, and they've got several Self-Defense Force armored vehicles! Reliable intel just came in—they've labeled us as 'unknown terrorists.' In less than half an hour, the Japanese police special forces will deploy troops here! They want to crush us as terrorists—wipe us out!"
"What?! Unknown terrorists—my ass! Those bastards! This is definitely Masao Oshima from the Yamaguchi Syndicate stirring up the government! What a classic move—using someone else's knife to do the killing! Just wait till I get back, I'm gonna gut him." Ray Tang shouted furiously.
"Boss Tang, what’s the deal with these Japanese police special forces? And how can Masao Oshima mobilize them?" Shawn Young asked, puzzled.
"Hmph, the Japanese police special forces were formed back in 1977. In September that year, the Japanese Red Flag Army terrorists hijacked a civilian airliner and demanded the government release six of their comrades. The authorities caved, got laughed at everywhere, and lost a ton of face. After that embarrassment, they set up their own anti-terror police unit, and now those guys are seriously tough."
"But our Dragon Clear Brotherhood has some Vietnam War vets from the mainland, and some brothers who’ve worked as mercenaries. We’re not afraid of a direct fight, but their gear is way better than ours! Masao Oshima is the current boss of the Yamaguchi Syndicate—he’s got insane power and government backing. We’ve always been a thorn in their side, and now he’s using the government to swoop in while we’re busy with the Inagawa Syndicate! Hmph, I won’t let him get away with it. Today, I’ll show them what the Dragon Clear Brotherhood is made of!" Ray Tang said fiercely.
"Relay my orders: Have the brothers spread out. The Vietnam War vets should take on the armored vehicles; the mercenary brothers hold off the Japanese police special forces. The rest cover the flanks and break out as soon as there’s an opening—retreat to Tokyo if you can." Ray Tang calmly instructed. The hall master took the order and rushed off to make arrangements.
At that moment, the sound of engines roared overhead. Shawn Young and Ray Tang looked up—holy crap, two armed helicopters loaded with missiles were flying their way! The choppers circled, ready to hover in place, clearly planning to wipe out the Dragon Clear Brotherhood on the ground as 'terrorists.' Most of the brothers were exposed and right in the helicopters' firing range.
"Damn! This is nuts—the Japanese Special Police Unit is using armed helicopters on us! Too bad we don’t have any rocket launchers... Ugh, we’re in deep trouble now!" Ray Tang’s heart sank. He’d seen his share of battles and knew the enemy would have a massive advantage with those choppers. The Dragon Clear Brotherhood was in serious danger.
Suddenly, Shawn Young spotted two streams of fire shooting from a nearby corner—aimed right at the helicopters from behind. The choppers’ radar detected incoming missiles and tried to dodge, but it was too late.
Boom! Boom!
Two brilliant explosions lit up the sky. The helicopters were toast before they even joined the fight—their crews too. Both choppers turned into blazing fireballs, dropping slowly from the sky as burning wreckage.
The Dragon Clear Brotherhood brothers on the ground erupted in cheers. They charged right at the three elite Yamaguchi Syndicate squads that had surrounded them. Gunfire thundered, smoke filled the air, and the two sides clashed in a wild firefight.
Shawn Young and Ray Tang exchanged looks, both wondering who had secretly taken down the two most dangerous helicopters. Just then, a few figures ran over from a distant corner.
Shawn Young quickly recognized the first two—Jade Swann and Colonel Hank Han—along with several members of the Dragonforce Battalion. They were all in black civilian clothes, faces streaked with camouflage paint. Colonel Hank and the others carried rocket launchers, and even Jade Swann, who usually avoided guns, was fully armed, wielding two mini submachine guns like a badass.
But Jade Swann’s face wasn’t painted—probably not her thing. It looked like they were on some sort of secret mission.

"Ah! Big Brother Hank, Jade! How are you guys here?" Shawn Young cried out in surprise. Seeing them in Japan was totally unexpected.
"Haha, surprised, huh? We didn’t expect to see you here either. Actually, we lured those two armed helicopters out and took them down ourselves," Colonel Hank explained.
"Oh? Why? Are you guys on a special mission again?" Shawn Young asked quickly.
"Yeah, that’s right... And this is?" Colonel Hank looked at Ray Tang, who was also eyeing him. Both men had a hint of caution and curiosity in their eyes.
"Oh, this is Ray Tang, the big boss of the Dragon Clear Brotherhood! Uh, we go way back." Shawn Young introduced him directly.
"Ah, Dragon Clear Brotherhood, huh? That’s a pretty impressive gang. As a soldier on duty, I can’t really get chummy with Boss Tang, but off the record, I respect him—a real tough guy!" Colonel Hank gave Ray Tang a thumbs-up.
"Uh, Brother Shawn, are they... soldiers?" Ray Tang guessed at Colonel Hank’s identity.
Shawn Young nodded and whispered, "Yeah, they’re from China’s Dragonforce Special Operations!"
"Whoa, Dragonforce! That’s China’s legendary top special forces!" Ray Tang exclaimed. He never expected to meet members of the mysterious Dragonforce Special Operations in a situation like this.
Colonel Hank grinned and said, "Haha, not bad! Boss Tang, your guys fight well. Now you’ve got the Self-Defense Force’s attention, so we can move. Time’s tight, so we can’t explain much now—we’re off to carry out our mission. If it goes smoothly, I’ll catch up with Brother Shawn later."
Just then, Jade Swann stepped up to Shawn Young and said, "You’re an unofficial member of the Military Paranormal Unit, so we need all hands on deck for this mission. We might be short-staffed, so you’re joining in! I’ll coordinate with Sherry Shawn about it."
"Oh, Sherry Shawn’s here too? Where is she? Is she okay?" Shawn Young asked quickly.
"Hmph, you always ask about Sherry first—never about me! Are you crushing on her again?" Jade Swann was clearly a bit annoyed.
"Uh..." Shawn Young was at a loss for words.
"Don’t look so awkward! Time’s tight—let’s finish the mission first, then I’ll deal with you. Colonel Hank, give him his assignment." Jade Swann shot Shawn Young a glare and turned to leave.
"Alright! Heh..." Colonel Hank was more than happy to pull Shawn Young into the mission—having him along always made things go smoother.
"Big Brother Hank, what’s the mission this time? Can you fill me in?" Shawn Young asked eagerly.
"Oh, that—let’s talk while we walk. The target isn’t far, so I’ll explain everything on the way." Colonel Hank said, grabbing Shawn Young and heading off.
Just then, Luna Xiao, May Gu, and Rachel Sasaki floated over from outside. Rachel immediately asked, "Hmm? Shawn Young-kun, where are you all headed?"
Colonel Hank shot Shawn Young a look, and Shawn got the hint. He told them, "You guys help Boss Tang hold off the enemy—I’ve got urgent business with Colonel Hank. Once we’re done, let’s meet up in Tokyo!"
Rachel Sasaki wanted to ask more, but May Gu grabbed her hand and waved at Shawn Young, saying, "Got it! Take care of yourself!" With that, she dragged the reluctant Rachel off to the side.
"Do you... need my help?" Luna Xiao didn’t leave right away and asked Shawn Young.
"Uh... not for now. If I need you, I’ll use Oracle Vision to contact you," Shawn Young replied after thinking it over.
"Okay, take care then." Luna Xiao nodded, gave Shawn Young a deep look, put on her human-skin mask, and turned to leave.
At that moment, Colonel Hank suddenly said to Ray Tang, "Boss Tang, you and your men hold off the enemy for half an hour. The country will remember you."
Ray Tang was stunned for a moment, then nodded. He pulled out his two Mauser pistols from behind his waist and said, "Alright, my brothers and I will hold for an hour. After that, we’ll all pull out."
