Lily Evans was deeply concerned about the children who had suffered at the hands of evil. Early the next morning, she and Alexander Hayes went to the Capital Constabulary to ask just how serious the issue of missing children in the outskirts of the Capital really was.

The sudden visit from Prince Alexander Hayes and Princess Lily Hayes threw the already busy constables of the Capital Constabulary into even more chaos.

The Chief Constable personally came out to greet them: "This humble servant welcomes Your Highness Prince Alexander Hayes and Her Highness Princess Lily Hayes."

"Let's talk inside," Alexander Hayes said, stepping through the main entrance.

The Chief Constable glanced at Alexander Hayes, then shifted his gaze to Lily Evans. His heart skipped a beat—so this was the infamous Princess Lily Hayes.

The Chief Constable was momentarily stunned, then hurried inside to attend to them.

"May I ask what brings Your Highness Prince Alexander Hayes to our Capital Constabulary today?" the Chief Constable asked respectfully.

"I've heard some troubling rumors, so I've come to inspect the Capital Constabulary and see the situation for myself," Alexander Hayes replied, looking at the Chief Constable.

Upon hearing Alexander Hayes's words, the Chief Constable's expression changed instantly. He hesitated, then glanced at Lily Evans, forcing a smile, "Your Highness, the Capital Constabulary handles only serious crimes. The atmosphere here is heavy with gloom. Her Highness Princess Lily Hayes is delicate—I'm afraid staying here too long might be harmful to her health."

Lily Evans looked at the Chief Constable. When he noticed her gaze, it was as if he’d been jolted by electricity—he immediately looked away, lowering his head and not daring to meet her eyes. He muttered inwardly: Is this really the legendary Princess Lily Hayes who steals children and drinks their blood? She’s beautiful, but she doesn’t look like a monster at all…

The Chief Constable kept his head down, refusing to speak further. He feared that if he told the truth in front of Princess Lily Hayes, and she got angry, Prince Alexander Hayes might have his head on a platter.

Seeing the Chief Constable hesitate, Lily Evans spoke gently, "Chief Constable, both His Highness and I are genuinely concerned about the missing children in the outskirts. That’s why we’ve come to inquire personally. You don’t need to hold anything back—just speak frankly. Neither His Highness nor I will blame you for being honest."

The Chief Constable, hearing this, grew even more anxious and stammered, unable to get the words out.

Alexander Hayes, seeing the Chief Constable stubbornly refuse to speak, slammed his palm down on the table with a loud crack—the table nearly splintered under the force.

Alexander Hayes snapped, "You’re the Chief Constable of the Capital Constabulary! I’m here to ask you about a case, and you just sit there mumbling and refusing to answer? Do you even want to keep your job?"

Faced with Prince Alexander Hayes’s fury, the Chief Constable was so terrified that he dropped to his knees, blurting out everything in a rapid-fire confession: "Your Highness, Princess, it’s true—the children in the outskirts have been disappearing! According to reports from every district, on average two to three children go missing every day, all under the age of ten, and it’s happening all around the Capital! Since the first child vanished until now, thirty-seven children have already gone missing!"

"Thirty-seven?" Lily Evans gasped in shock. She had thought the number might be four or five at most, with rumors exaggerating the situation. But the truth was far worse.

Sometimes you don’t know until you investigate—once you do, the truth is even more shocking. Thirty-seven missing children!

Sweating profusely, the Chief Constable wiped his brow and stammered, "Your Highness, Princess, I wouldn’t dare hide anything... The rumors in the countryside have gotten out of hand. They say all these children were taken by Princess Lily Hayes in the dead of night, and that she drinks their blood and eats their flesh... Your Highness, Princess, please forgive me for speaking so bluntly—this is just what I’ve heard, I mean no disrespect!"
