Tomb Perimeter

Protected by the Arcane Spring potion, Leon pressed deeper into the gorge, advancing nearly two hundred meters before finally discovering the stone stele mentioned in the notes. Though the monument itself was unremarkable, the inscription upon it was written in Nesserian Script.

"Nesserian Script..." Leon murmured in surprise as he studied the inscription on the stele.

If this tomb had been built recently, the use of Nesserian Script wouldn’t have been remarkable. After all, in the past few centuries, while Nesserian Script remains the exclusive domain of mages, it has become fairly common among them. Generally, anyone above the rank of Magister will have studied it to some extent.

But it’s important to remember—this tomb dates back to the Third Dynasty...

During the Third Dynasty, only royal family members could master Nesserian Script. It was a bloodline-ruled era—strictly hierarchical, with clear divisions between lineages. No matter how powerful or extraordinary a mage was, if they weren’t born into royalty, they’d never be allowed to study Nesserian Script. Anyone caught learning it in secret faced only one outcome: immediate execution.

"A royal from the Third Dynasty..."

After a brief moment of astonishment, Leon’s gaze fell back on the stele.

Though the inscription was written in Nesserian Script, it was far less complex than the magical texts Leon usually encountered. It took him less than ten minutes to translate every word with meticulous accuracy.

Judging from the inscription, the one buried here should be a Prince who lived in the early days of the Third Dynasty. Several grammatical quirks in the text matched the language habits of that era, and it was by these clues that Leon deduced the approximate time period...

"Strange..." After reading the inscription from beginning to end, a trace of confusion slowly appeared on Leon’s face.
