Tyrant Earthwyrm

Evan Chu saw the shock on the other man's face and laughed, "Of course I'm here for you. You thought you could just leave without handing over your wooden token—how could you do me like that? Your friend already gave me his token, and even tossed in some Netherstones. You know what to do, right?"

"You... what did you do to him? Did you kill him?" the Ghost Clan youth asked in shock. He already knew the answer in his heart, but still wanted confirmation.

"That's only natural. If you just hand over your token, maybe you won't end up like him. You should know that a wise man adapts to the situation." Evan Chu smiled, though he himself didn't know why he was bothering to talk so much with this guy.

"You want me to hand over my token, but you're not strong enough for that. Sure, you're tough, but I'm no pushover either. There are plenty of people in the Land of the Undead stronger than you. Even if I can't kill you, someone else will." The Ghost Clan youth refused to give Evan any respect.

"Fine. Since you've chosen death, I'll grant your wish!" Evan Chu finished speaking and instantly appeared right in front of the Ghost Clan youth, unleashing Soul Rend with his Frostbane Sword.

Of course, as Evan Chu moved, the Ghost Clan youth moved too. He'd been watching Evan closely the whole time. With all his strength, he swung his longsword, hoping to kill Evan with that one blow.

But he was disappointed. His sword strike felt like it hit an iron wall, the shock nearly knocking the weapon from his grip. At the same time, a tearing, heart-rending pain surged through him—not in his body, but in his soul, as if his spirit had been split in two.

This sudden turn left him utterly shocked. The massive rebound force sent him flying backward, while Evan Chu, not one to show mercy, followed up with a decisive Earthsplitter. Against people like this, there's no need to hold back—kill them and move on. He's already absorbed enough ghost-qi; grabbing the token quickly is what matters now.

With his soul devastated, the Ghost Clan youth had no strength left to fight back. Combined with the terrifying power of Earthsplitter, Evan Chu's attack cleaved him cleanly in two. Killed in a single exchange—he never imagined he'd die so fast.

Evan Chu took the youth's storage ring, pocketed the Netherstones and wooden token, then tossed a fireball to burn the corpse to ashes. He flew up into the sky, searching for his next target.

"Soul Rend paired with Earthsplitter really is great for killing. Looks like these two moves alone are enough to get things done in the Land of the Undead." Evan Chu muttered to himself.

"You're being way too naive. Against Ghost Clan invaders, maybe, but against monsters in the Land of the Undead? Not a chance. I just scanned the area—there are several extremely powerful beings here. Any one of them could hurt you. Don't get careless." Luna, the sword spirit, immediately poured cold water on Evan's confidence.

"There are monsters that strong? If anyone else runs into them, isn't it basically a death sentence? So the Grimchart City folks sent us in here just to die? I really don't get what they're after." Evan Chu said, still shaken.

He trusted Luna completely. For a monster to be able to hurt him, it had to be at least eighth-layer Saint Martial Realm or higher. Looks like he really needed to be careful.

"But don't worry too much. With your current strength, if you only run into one, even if you can't kill it, you should be able to get away. But if you run into two at once... well, let's hope your luck isn't that bad!" Luna said.

Evan Chu stopped talking and kept flying forward. Soon, he saw something that surprised him—a group of several dozen Ghost Clan cultivators fighting a massive Bonewraith. Several were already badly injured, and one or two lay motionless on the ground, apparently dead.

This was the perfect chance to play the fisherman and reap the spoils. Evan Chu slowly descended from the sky, slipped underground, and waited. But just as he burrowed down, a powerful aura and a sense of danger suddenly radiated from the earth itself.

He'd never experienced anything like this before. Focusing his vision, his face instantly went pale—he'd burrowed right in front of a gigantic monster, and worst of all, he was near its mouth.

Rows of sharp teeth jutted out, each tooth nearly as big as his whole body. If it bit down, even with his strong defense, he'd probably be ripped to pieces.

Evan Chu bolted out of the ground, and the giant underground beast erupted after him. The earth shook violently, like an earthquake.

"Could this be one of those terrifying monsters Luna warned me about? If so, it's going to be a real headache. With a body this huge, killing it won't be easy at all." Evan Chu thought to himself.

The ground split open with massive cracks, and a mountain-sized monster burst out from below. It stood at least a hundred meters tall and stretched several hundred meters long, its whole body gray. It looked a bit like a dragon, but Evan Chu was sure it wasn't—there were no horns on its head.

Its two eyes glowed blood-red, as huge as water vats. Right now, it threw back its head and let out a deafening roar, the sound so intense it made people dizzy. Even someone as strong as Evan Chu nearly collapsed under the sonic assault.

The Ghost Clan cultivators fighting the Bonewraith were also affected by the monster's roar. About half of them fell to the ground clutching their ears, writhing in pain—clearly devastated by the sound.

The Bonewraith, on seeing the monster, panicked like a mouse before a cat and fled for its life. The other Ghost Clan cultivators gasped in shock—if the Bonewraith was already hard to handle, now with this giant beast appearing, all they could do was run.

Evan Chu flashed hundreds of meters away in an instant. He wasn't stupid enough to clash head-on with this monster—dodging it was the best move.

(Irrelevant system message skipped.)

The monster was startled to see Evan Chu suddenly appear hundreds of meters away. It quickly turned toward the still-dazed Ghost Clan group. For a creature this size, a hundred meters was just a step or two; in a blink, it reached them.

"Run! It's the legendary Earth Dragon!" someone in the Ghost Clan shouted. Instantly, people scattered in all directions. Too bad flight was still suppressed—if they could fly, escaping would be much easier.

But escaping from this giant beast was impossible. Its massive maw sucked in everything within dozens of meters—rocks, soil, and of course, the fleeing Ghost Clan cultivators—all were swallowed whole.

Evan Chu was shocked by what he saw. Those Ghost Clan cultivators had the wooden tokens he needed—there were at least twenty or thirty of them, clearly a small team. Now, with all of them swallowed by this beast, getting those tokens would be a huge hassle.

He'd planned to swoop in and reap the rewards, but that plan was ruined. Evan Chu was furious—he'd finally found a big group, only for this monster to show up. Talk about bad luck.

"Luna, is this really an Earth Dragon? I can't sense even a trace of dragon clan aura from it. Did the Ghost Clan get it wrong?" Evan Chu asked the sword spirit. Against a beast this big, he needed her advice.

"It's not an Earth Dragon, but it does have 'dragon' in its name. It's called a Tyrant Earthwyrm—a type of earth-attribute Netherbeast. There aren't many this powerful in the Land of the Undead. With a body this huge, it can't shapeshift, so you don't have to worry about illusions. It won't use illusion techniques against you.

To deal with it, you'll need overwhelming attack power to kill it outright. Now that all those Ghost Clan cultivators have been swallowed, their chances of survival are slim. If you manage to slay the beast, you might still get their wooden tokens—and you'll also earn a massive Phantasite.

That one Phantasite is worth dozens, maybe even a hundred of the ones you've gotten before—a pretty decent haul. But the price you'll pay could be huge, so think carefully." Luna said honestly.

Evan Chu hesitated. He wasn't sure he could kill such a massive creature, but Luna's offer was tempting. For a moment, he couldn't make up his mind.

"Don't hesitate, Evan. The Tyrant Earthwyrm's defense shouldn't be stronger than yours. If you use the Unicorn Arm with Heaven‑Cleave, you should be able to seriously injure it—maybe even kill it outright. But the key is finding its fatal weak spot. Only by striking the thinnest part can you do maximum damage," Luna said.

Mentioning the Unicorn Arm, Evan Chu nearly forgot he had that terrifying skill. Now he felt confident about slaying the beast, so he said to Luna, "I'll do my best to draw its attention. As for its weak spot, I'll need your help to find it—its body is just too big. Or should I go inside and take a look?"

"That won't work. The Tyrant Earthwyrm's stomach acid is extremely corrosive—even your defenses couldn't withstand it. Forget about going inside. You can only attack from the outside, using your strongest moves. Its weak spots are the neck and the head—focus on those. Be careful, I believe you can do it," Luna said.

Evan Chu flashed into midair. The Tyrant Earthwyrm was surprised to see him flying—no one else had managed to take to the sky. This human felt different, not simple at all.

The beast immediately opened its massive jaws and tried to suck Evan Chu in, unleashing a powerful suction force. But Evan wasn't falling for it—he dodged out of range. Then he spotted something: a patch of white skin, only the size of a washbasin, beneath the creature's neck.

Its whole body was gray except for that one white spot—Evan Chu instantly realized what that meant. That was probably its weak point. Almost at the same time, a massive tail whipped toward him with thunderous force. If it hit, he could be sent flying thousands of meters...
