You Can Return Them If You Are Not Satisfied
Even backed into a corner, Easton Yan refused to just give up. He fought like hell, and in the end, his death left one of the Enforcement Squad seriously wounded.
Felix Yan, meanwhile, was so scared he was basically frozen on the spot.
All his backbone came from his big brother, Easton Yan. Once Easton was gone, Felix lost all will to fight, dropped to his knees and started begging for mercy, blaming everything on his brother.
Ian Song and Howard Gu just looked down on him with total contempt.
About fifteen minutes later, Ian Song and Howard Gu walked back to Ian's courtyard together. Harriet Gu was already there, anxiously waiting for news.
"Ian, big bro, how did it go?" Harriet asked.
"It's all taken care of," Ian Song said.
Howard Gu didn't say a word, looking totally crushed. What happened with Yvette Hu had hit him hard.
Seeing that, Ian Song patted his shoulder and tried to cheer him up, "There are plenty of fish in the sea, man. No point getting hung up on someone who doesn't love you."
Howard managed a bitter smile and nodded. "I know, but every time I think of her, I just... Whatever, forget it. Let's not talk about her. You got any wine here?"
"Yeah, and I've got plenty," Ian Song said.
A crescent moon hung high overhead, pouring down its pale silver light.
Under the night sky, the three of them—two guys and a girl—sat drinking together by moonlight.
Pretty soon, empty bottles covered the table—most of them drained by Howard Gu.
He was drinking fast and hard, like it was water instead of wine.
Seeing this, Harriet Gu frowned, about to say something, but Ian Song gently shook his head and whispered, "Let him drink. He needs to get it out of his system."
Harriet Gu nodded, but her eyes couldn't hide her worry.
Bang!
After a few more bottles, Howard Gu finally passed out, slumped over the table, mumbling nonsense but still saying Yvette Hu's name over and over. Even after everything, he just couldn't let her go.
"Ian, why are feelings so complicated?" Harriet Gu asked softly, moved by the scene.
