Past and Future

"How many years ago was it?"

Hearing Evan Lin ask this, Lyria's brows knit slightly: "Hundreds of years, over a thousand, ten thousand, or maybe even longer?"

"Even I can't be certain now."

Lyria shook her head gently.

From the moment she appeared, everything Lyria said and did seemed especially calm.

This was actually not much different from the Lyria in Evan's memories.

But on the Immortal Martial Continent, three hundred years ago, Lyria suddenly vanished without a trace. Looking at it now, the timeline doesn't quite match up.

Yet the more Evan thought about it, the more he felt something was off.

"You said you're waiting for me. Waiting for me to do what?"

Evan followed Lyria's steps and walked through that small door.

Inside the door, all the radiance faded, transforming into a stone chamber.

At first glance, it was just an ordinary stone chamber.

Four walls surrounded them, with a square table in the center, two meditation cushions laid out, and an oil lamp on the table. The dim yellow light seemed like it could go out at any moment.

Other than that, there was only one flower in the chamber.

A Lyria Blossom on the verge of withering.

Seeing the full layout of the stone chamber, Evan was shaken to his core.

"Glazed Glass Palace... Illusory Cultivation Cave?"

Staring at the small stone chamber before him, Evan's expression turned absent-minded.

Back at Glazed Glass Palace, besides being taught by Lyria, Evan spent most of his time in the Pill Pavilion and the Illusory Cultivation Cave.

When Lyria first brought Evan into this stone chamber, she said the first Palace Master of Glazed Glass Palace had meditated here for over a hundred years, then emerged to found the sect.

This place left a deep impression on Evan Lin—he could never forget it.

Now, suddenly seeing this stone chamber again, Evan Lin’s heart jolted—it felt like a lifetime had passed.

“Thousands of magical techniques, this is just one aspect among them.”

“To be honest, I once spent over a hundred years with this stone chamber. Sitting here, my mind could truly be at peace.”

Whenever Lyria Zhao spoke, she would sit cross-legged on a meditation cushion.

Evan Lin sat opposite her, his expression conflicted.

“I waited for you just to see you one more time.”

Once Lyria Zhao settled in, she suddenly spoke, her gaze resting on Evan’s face.

“See me?”

Hearing Lyria Zhao say that, Evan felt a strange discomfort.
