Second floor hallway.

"Huff!"

Kevin Zong gasped violently several times. Only after Andrew Han's figure completely disappeared did he finally muster the courage to prop himself up against the cold wall and slowly stand up.

"Maniac!"

"He's a maniac!"

He clenched his teeth, trembling as he took out his phone from his pocket, opened the forum app, and posted a plea for help—"My competitor is a maniac, what should I do? Waiting online, urgent!"

In an instant, the post was published.

Kevin Zong felt a bit relieved... He had purchased a forum membership, so his post could be set in a striking red color. Surely, replies would come soon.

Tap.

Tap.

Dragging his trembling body, he slowly walked into the restroom, turned on the faucet, and stared at the rushing stream of water, unable to suppress a shiver.

"Sigh."

Kevin Zong took a deep breath, placing both palms under the faucet, letting the force of the water strike his hands.

It seemed that only this could calm him down.

After a while.

He took out his phone from his pocket, ignoring the water on his hands, unlocked the screen, and nervously scrolled through his post.

The replies were as follows, a total of three:

'Is this for real? OP is this miserable?'

'Are you crazy? Facing a maniac and still wanting to compete? You must have a death wish.'

'The person above is wrong... OP has clearly already entered a competitive state, and is very likely to attract the maniac's attention. I'm afraid he's doomed.'

Is it really this serious?

Kevin Zong's eyes widened in shock as he drew in a sharp breath. His right hand held his phone, while his left remained under the faucet, feeling the cold water as if he were in a frozen wasteland.

Actually, he overlooked one thing.

To him, Andrew Han was a maniac. But to others, a maniac meant a vicious thug.

The two were not the same at all, which led to those alarmist replies.

"Gulp."

Kevin Zong forced himself to swallow, dispelling those thoughts.

And in the next moment—

His phone suddenly vibrated, and a new, striking reply appeared on the screen: 'OP, run for your life! You only live once, treasure it!'

Tap.

Kevin Zong's scalp tingled with fear, a chill ran through his body, and his right hand trembled, causing his phone to fall into the sink.

Splash.

The faucet was still running cold water, soaking the phone screen and extinguishing all of Kevin Zong's thoughts.

"Huff!"

"Huff!"

Kevin Zong washed his face several times with the cold water before finally leaving the restroom and returning to the Senior Class 12 classroom.

......

The previously noisy classroom fell silent the moment Kevin Zong returned.

All the students stole glances at Kevin Zong. Seeing his face covered in water, their hearts skipped a beat, realizing he must have washed his face... But why did he do that? What happened between him and that boy from another class?

Whatever happened, seeing Kevin Zong like this, he was clearly not the victor.

However.

Fortunately, Kevin Zong had washed his face several times. Otherwise, if the whole class saw him crying, he wouldn't be able to bear it psychologically, and his self-esteem would collapse.

"That boy from another class... gave me some dignity."

Kevin Zong silently walked back to his seat, not daring to look at Monica Zhang, nor at his deskmate's defiant face, and sat blankly in his chair.

His buzz-cut deskmate clenched his fists and asked unwillingly, "Who is he?"

Kevin Zong gave a bitter smile. "He's Andrew Han from Senior Class 7. But... we'd better not provoke him again."

The buzz-cut boy grunted twice, secretly frustrated. "Just let him go? Send a message to Nathan Xiang and the others. We can't just let this slide."

"Alright."

Kevin Zong nodded nervously.

He took out his phone, composed a text message, and sent it to Nathan Xiang: 'Nathan, a boy from another class just came to our classroom and warned me and my deskmate... He's Andrew Han from Class 7.'

Ding.

Message sent successfully.

The buzz-cut boy squinted, a cold smile on his lips. "Just wait, Nathan will definitely make Andrew Han pay!"

Kevin Zong sat in silence.

Even if Nathan Xiang was really willing to help him, Kevin Zong still didn't dare to face Andrew Han directly... The despair he felt just now had shattered his courage; he truly didn't want to provoke Andrew Han again.

After a while.

Ding.

The screen lit up twice—there were new text replies.

The buzz-cut boy's eyes gleamed as he gritted his teeth. "Let's see how Nathan replies. He's a Martial Arts Program Student—he won't let Andrew Han off easily."

"Sigh."

Kevin Zong sighed and opened the message screen.

On the screen, Nathan Xiang's message was clear: 'What did Andrew Han warn you about? How did you get involved with him? He's also a Martial Arts Program Student, and he's got a great personality—I actually admire him... Well, I'll help mediate, but it's best not to get into conflict with him.'

Hiss!

The buzz-cut boy's eyes widened, his eyelids twitching.

Gulp!

Kevin Zong forced himself to swallow. For some reason, he felt relieved, and the heavy feeling in his heart suddenly disappeared.

......

On the other side of the Senior Class 12 classroom.

A girl with long, flowing hair, her cheeks flushed, whispered to her deskmate, "I have to find that boy and get to know him."

"Hey, don't get any ideas." Her deskmate shook her head. "Didn't you hear what that boy just said? He came to help Monica Zhang."

The long-haired girl muttered unwillingly, "So what? In terms of looks, I'm just as good as Monica Zhang. Besides, I'm an art student and know how to dress up—can Monica Zhang even compare to me?"

Her deskmate sighed, "But Monica Zhang is a top student."

The long-haired girl was taken aback, biting her lower lip as she glanced twice at Monica Zhang, secretly gritting her teeth. "What makes Monica Zhang so special? Hmph... So she's a bit better at studying and a bit prettier."

She felt both envy and jealousy.

It was sincere admiration from the heart.

High school years are still the age of youth—who hasn't dreamed of meeting a hero who would appear in times of trouble, break through all obstacles, and come to their rescue?

Almost every girl has had similar fantasies.

But after all, it's just a fantasy—who would have thought... it actually came true! And it happened right in front of their eyes, right in the Senior Class 12 classroom!

To put it mildly—

Almost all the girls in Senior Class 12 stole glances at Monica Zhang, their eyes filled with either envy and jealousy, or a hint of longing.

......

Click, click.

The boy with outstanding grades and exceptionally high Chinese scores twirled a red gel pen, his gaze complex as he looked at Monica Zhang, then glanced at the dazed Kevin Zong.

"Hey."

He shook his head. "Kevin Zong is usually so arrogant and self-righteous... But there's always someone better out there. Even he has met his match. That boy must be Monica Zhang's good friend—how could he allow Kevin Zong to bully her without consequence?"

He kept twirling his pen, his eyes full of emotion.

"If you don't believe me, just watch the chess player—the outcome can only be known at the end of the match." He pursed his lips and gently picked up the Chinese test paper on his desk, murmuring to himself, "But my win or loss depends on the college entrance exam."

......

Second row by the wall.

Monica Zhang's front and back deskmates, as well as her own deskmate—a short-haired girl—all glanced at Monica Zhang cautiously.

In an instant, their usual casual attitude changed dramatically.

"Mon... Monica Zhang." The short-haired girl forced a warm smile and said softly, "That Andrew Han is so cool. I thought he'd wait until after school, but he actually came straight here during evening study."

"So cool."

"He's just so cool." The short-haired girl was overwhelmed, unable to contain her excitement. "Kevin Zong didn't dare make a sound—he definitely won't bully you again."

Monica Zhang pursed her lips, her beautiful eyes sparkling.

She tried to suppress the excitement surging in her heart and replied, "I didn't expect Andrew Han to be so direct either."

The short-haired girl covered her mouth with a laugh, her eyes full of envy. "Yeah."

Yeah, who would have thought?

She stared blankly at Monica Zhang's rosy profile, then turned her head, shifted her gaze to the notebook on the desk, and lost all interest in studying.

Study? What's the point! Bang—she slammed her desk!

Can studying help you find a hero like that? Of course not! Bang—she slammed her desk again!

At that moment—

Monica Zhang's phone vibrated suddenly in her pocket—buzz buzz!

"A QQ message?"

Monica Zhang took out her phone, her delicate lashes trembling slightly. "A-Andrew Han messaged me? Ever since we added each other, he... he hasn't messaged me before."

Click.

With a soft sound, the screen unlocked and entered the QQ chat interface.

On the simple interface, Andrew Han's message appeared: 'Haha, the trouble's been sorted out. If Kevin Zong ever bullies you again, just tell me.'

Monica Zhang pursed her lips, her small hand tapping the phone keyboard.

"Mhm, you're amazing—thank you so much for today! /Happy"

"You're really a Martial Arts Program Student—thank you! /Happy"

Wait, aren't these messages... a bit too forward? Monica Zhang blinked her beautiful eyes and quickly deleted the edited messages.

After pondering for a moment—

Monica Zhang bit her lower lip and sent a message: "Mhm! /Happy"

After that, there was no reply—like a stone sinking into the sea. She waited until the bell for the end of evening study rang through the corridor and classroom, but Monica Zhang never got a reply from Andrew Han.

"Hmph."

Monica Zhang was a little disappointed. She put her phone back in her pocket, started tidying up her desk, and prepared to take her test scores home to share the good news.

She was first in her class in the Third Placement Exam.
