Paying a Visit

Patriarch Fenn also felt this was reasonable. This matter must be thoroughly investigated. If it’s true, they must secretly find a way to eliminate Evan Yang. Otherwise, if the Yang Clan or the Immortal Realm Alliance discover how terrifying Evan Yang is, they’ll value him even more.

Evan Yang never expected that, because he had gained the Immortal Realm Alliance’s attention, these two wouldn’t dare share their suspicions with others. What they didn’t realize was that some of Evan’s close associates were already being tracked by him.

"Let’s head back for now. If there’s any news, we’ll notify each other." Patriarch Fenn said, seeing how much pain Patriarch Lynn was in.

Patriarch Lynn had already ordered his people to return to the clan, while Patriarch Fenn gathered his own men and assigned them tasks to investigate Evan Yang.

Meanwhile, Evan Yang happened to be following the Lynn Family group, staying hidden while they remained completely unaware.

"The North Sect was ruined by the Fenn and Lynn Families. If they hadn’t insisted on killing me, I wouldn’t have acted. Since it’s come to this, I’ll make sure you never find peace." Evan Yang originally planned to consult an Immortal Lord about his mother’s whereabouts, but after today’s events, he didn’t want Patriarch Fenn or Patriarch Lynn spreading rumors. He also wanted revenge, so he decided to target them first.

Patriarch Lynn had no idea Evan Yang had already infiltrated the clan’s territory. Severely injured, Lynn summoned Steward Song and other trusted aides.

"Steward Song, I have something for you to handle," Patriarch Lynn said.

"What is it?" Steward Song frowned, noticing Patriarch Lynn’s poor complexion and missing hand.

"Investigate someone for me. Report to me immediately if you find anything," Patriarch Lynn said.

"Who?" Steward Song asked, sensing something was off.

Patriarch Lynn explained the situation regarding Evan Yang and instructed Steward Song to arrange an investigation. He added, "I need to repair my hand, so I’ll be in seclusion for a while. I hope you can resolve this quickly."

"Understood, Patriarch. I won’t let you down," Steward Song replied.

Patriarch Lynn nodded and left. Steward Song went to make arrangements. Evan Yang, having reached Lynn territory, disguised himself as an ordinary person and searched the planets for the one where Patriarch Lynn resided.

After finding the planet where Patriarch Lynn usually lived, Evan exited the teleportation array and was stopped by several guards. "This is Lynn Family restricted ground. Who are you, and why are you here?"

"I have urgent business with Patriarch Lynn," Evan Yang said.

"Patriarch Lynn? He hasn’t returned yet. You should wait until he’s back," the guard replied.

Evan Yang had clearly seen Patriarch Lynn return with his close aides, so it was unlikely he wasn’t here. He figured Lynn was too injured to appear before others, so he quickly said, "I have urgent business. Maybe I can speak to the steward instead."

"The steward? Then follow me," the guard said after scrutinizing Evan Yang.

Evan Yang followed the guard onto the planet. It wasn’t too big or too small, but it was filled with beautiful buildings.

All these buildings were made of earth, arranged in a neat pattern, and guarded by people. It was obvious these were important clan facilities.

The guard led Evan through the rows of buildings to a palace complex in back, where a group of people were busy at work.

The guard called out to someone assigning tasks, "Steward Song, someone’s here to see you."

"Oh? Who is it?" Steward Song asked curiously. "It’s him," the guard said, pointing at Evan Yang.

Steward Song looked at Evan, who was unfamiliar to him, and wondered why someone like this would seek him out. Evan waved him over and said, "I have urgent business."

Steward Song pulled Evan aside and asked, "What’s so urgent?"

"It’s about Quinn Lynn. Is Patriarch Lynn around? I need to speak to him directly," Evan Yang said.

Hearing Quinn Lynn’s name, Steward Song was shocked. He knew Quinn’s situation couldn’t be mentioned in front of outsiders, especially not the Immortal Realm Alliance. He quickly said, "Follow me."

Evan Yang was soon led to a secret chamber, where he anxiously asked, "How is Young Master Quinn now?"

"I need to speak directly with Patriarch Lynn. Is he here?" Evan Yang asked.

"Patriarch Lynn is busy. Just tell me," Steward Song said.

"I’m afraid that won’t work," Evan Yang said politely.

"What, you don’t trust me either?" Steward Song frowned.

"Steward Song, you know how serious this is, especially with the Immortal Realm Alliance involved," Evan Yang hinted.

Steward Song was angry, but forced himself to hold back. "Fine, wait here. I’ll make arrangements."

Evan Yang had to wait in the secret chamber while Steward Song slipped away. After a short while, Song reached a mountain ravine and found Patriarch Lynn meditating in a cave. Lynn assumed Song had news about Evan Yang and asked, "Well? Have you finished the investigation?" "It’s still ongoing," Steward Song replied.

"So why are you here this time?" Patriarch Lynn asked curiously.

"Someone says they have news about Young Master Quinn. He insists on seeing you and won’t tell me anything," Steward Song said awkwardly.

Hearing that there was news of Quinn Lynn, Patriarch Lynn was shocked. He knew this was no ordinary matter and couldn’t let anyone else find out, so he stood up. "Understood. Take me to him."

Steward Song nodded and brought Patriarch Lynn to the secret chamber, where they found a stranger waiting.

Patriarch Lynn asked, "You know where Young Master Quinn is?"

Evan Yang noticed that Patriarch Lynn’s missing hand had already regrown, which surprised him. Still, Lynn was badly injured and hadn’t fully recovered—this was Evan’s opportunity.

But Steward Song was still present, and Evan Yang didn’t know his strength, so he couldn’t act rashly. He said, "Let Steward Song wait outside."

Patriarch Lynn glanced at Steward Song, who nodded and left. Once they were alone, Lynn asked, "Can you talk now?"

"Yes, Patriarch Lynn," Evan Yang replied, showing a strange smile.

Patriarch Lynn felt uneasy at that smile—it reminded him of someone. When Evan Yang revealed his face, Lynn was shocked. "You! Damn it!"

Lynn cursed and tried to escape, but found the chamber surrounded by an illusion formation. He was stunned—Evan had set this up before Steward Song went to fetch him.

"What are you trying to do?" Patriarch Lynn demanded, seeing there was no way out.

"You and Patriarch Fenn teamed up to kill me. Do you really think I’d let you recover?" Evan Yang sneered.

"You!" Patriarch Lynn could only muster sixth-tier Emperor strength, still weakened from Evan’s earlier attack and the energy spent regrowing his hand.

"So you understand. Then die!" Evan Yang said, and punched. Lynn raised earthen walls to block, but Evan smashed through them and struck him directly.

Boom! Patriarch Lynn slammed against the wall, blood pouring out. "You... damn you!"

"This is the price you pay, Patriarch Lynn," Evan Yang said.

"You brat, you’re crazy. Do you know what’ll happen if you kill me?" Lynn shouted.

"Oh? Do you have some hidden trump card?" Evan Yang sneered.

"Kid, believe it or not, as long as my soul isn’t destroyed, you’ll never truly kill me," Lynn growled.

"Then I’ll just destroy you now," Evan Yang laughed.

"Destroy me? Ridiculous. I’ll tell you—I have another soul!" Lynn sneered.

"What?" Evan Yang was surprised. He’d never imagined someone could have two souls.

Lynn saw Evan’s reaction and sneered, "What’s wrong? Scared?"

Evan Yang punched again and sneered, "Scared? Not at all. If you know I’m here to kill you, your other soul can chase me all it wants. Whether you actually have the power to kill me is another matter entirely!"

Lynn was furious. He did have two souls, but the second was only a backup without a body. This body was his true form. If it was destroyed, it would take hundreds of thousands of years for the backup to recover. He’d only revealed it to scare Evan, but Evan showed no fear at all.

"Enough. Today I’ll destroy this body!" Evan Yang unleashed a heavy punch, cracking all of Lynn’s bones and tearing his body apart. An enraged soul silhouette floated out, vowing, "Evan Yang, just wait. One day I’ll make you suffer worse than death."

"Is that so? I’ll be waiting," Evan Yang replied, and with a final strike, he crushed Lynn’s soul, then dispelled the formation and prepared to leave.

Steward Song was waiting outside. When Evan Yang walked out and smiled at him, Song felt a chill and hurried into the cave. Seeing the devastation inside, he was shocked—Patriarch Lynn had been destroyed.

Just as Steward Song was unsure what to do, his Transmission Stone lit up. It was a message from Patriarch Lynn’s soul: "Steward Song, quickly seal all exits from the Lynn star system. No one is allowed in or out."

Steward Song didn’t question whether the soul was genuine—he immediately issued orders. Soon, all routes in and out of Lynn territory were blocked, and Song was flooded with instructions from the patriarch’s soul.
