Colin shook his head. "I'm still young—just gaining some experience, that's all."
Lily Bai: "Oh..."
Colin's voice turned intimate. "If something's up, just say it. There's nothing between us that can't be said."
Lily Bai lounged back against the sofa. "Do you believe in reincarnation?"
"Reincarnation? What do you mean?" Colin asked, confused.
"It means someone just suddenly goes back ten years!" Lily said. "And remembers everything from their past life."
Colin laughed. "Sounds like something out of a novel, huh?"
"No—it's real," Lily insisted. "I actually experienced rebirth."
Colin stared at her, totally lost.
"Want to hear what happened to me last time around?"
Colin perked up. "Something that magical? Of course I want to hear it."
"In my last life, I loved Evan Lan just as much as I do now. I was obsessed—absolutely crazy about him—for ten years! But he kept rejecting me, refused to be with me."
Colin: "And then?"
"Then, you kept chasing after me."
Colin flashed a grin. "Did I catch you?"
Lily nodded. "After Evan broke my heart, I agreed to be with you and started planning our engagement."
"If only it really happened that way," Colin said.
"Before the engagement, there were all sorts of rumors about us. People said I was pregnant before marriage, that I was rushing to get engaged because of it."
"So... was it true?" Colin gave her a slightly teasing look.
"No! In fact, I was still a virgin when I died." Lily said. "Do you know how I died?"
Colin shook his head.
"That day, you said you wanted to go out to sea with me. Then you booked a luxury cruise ship, and we went out fishing."
"Afterwards, I was basically imprisoned on that ship. For a whole month! During that month, Tanya Tang gave birth to your child, then claimed it was mine! She even said I died in childbirth! After that, that child inherited the entire Bai family estate."
"How could that be?" Colin’s expression changed dramatically. "Lily, you must've had a nightmare, right?"
"Then, the Leaf Clan tied rocks to me and sank me into the sea to drown." Lily Bai continued. "After I died, I returned to ten years ago—this current life."
Colin: "That’s not true!"
Lily Bai smiled. "Don’t be scared, I’m not here for revenge."
Colin quietly breathed a sigh of relief.
"I came to ask you... Who is the Prophet?"
Colin’s smile slowly froze. "The Prophet?"
Lily Bai smiled. "After I was drowned in the sea, my soul attached itself to a great white shark. When I returned to my body, I brought the shark’s bioelectric ability with me."
Lily Bai moved a little closer to him. "You’ve all been desperate to get bioelectric powers, right? Well, I’ve got the whole package! I can communicate with every ocean creature—including the fish in the painting!"
Colin couldn’t smile anymore.
"A great white shark’s bioelectric ability is top-tier in the ocean," Lily Bai said. "Not only can I communicate with sea creatures, but my senses are way sharper than a normal human’s! I can identify people by their bioelectric signals, heartbeats, and so on. Whether you’re wearing a white robe, a black cloak, or sunglasses—I’ll still recognize you."
