So It Was Bianca Whiteshire
"Ms. Rachel Zhang, the three of us didn’t go home last night. We kept it in the alchemy room and watched over it ourselves!" said Rina Chu.
Ms. Rachel Zhang breathed a sigh of relief, then turned to Grace with a smile. "Good thing you’re so clever! Otherwise, I wouldn’t know how to explain this to the Alliance Master!"
Grace smiled. "Sorry for making you worry."
"As long as everything’s fine," Ms. Rachel Zhang said.
Ms. Rachel Zhang, the person who killed the Earthbear is him!" Grace pointed at the servant. "I hope you’ll interrogate him thoroughly and find out who’s really behind this!"
"What?" The servant’s eyes widened. "You can’t just accuse me out of nowhere! I didn’t do it!"
Grace pointed at his hand. "Look at your hand."
The servant looked down and finally noticed several thin red lines had appeared on his hand, looking terrifying.
"I put poison in the lock—my special Scarlet Thread Poison. Only my personal antidote can cure it!" Grace said.
"What?" The servant panicked, desperately rubbing his hand, trying to get rid of the red lines.
But the more he panicked, the more red lines appeared.
"You know what Scarlet Thread is, right? If those red lines reach your heart, you’ll die!" Grace said. "Don’t tell me you got poisoned somewhere else, or I won’t bother giving you the antidote!"
At the word 'die,' the servant dropped to his knees with a thud. "Grace, spare me!"
"Confess honestly, and I’ll give you the antidote."
"It was... it was Mason Fu... He gave me a piece of Earth Spirit Jade and told me to do it. He promised I wouldn’t get caught..."
Chief Zhang’s face turned extremely dark.
She punished Mason Fu with a round of beatings and suspended him from his position, sending him home to recover.
......
Clearly, the one causing her trouble all the time was Mason Fu.
After he left, Grace finally had some peace.
She felt truly grateful to Ms. Rachel Zhang.
They had met by chance and had no prior connection, yet Ms. Rachel Zhang treated her so well.
Every day at noon, Grace would use the small kitchen to personally cook delicious meals for Ms. Rachel Zhang.
Ms. Rachel Zhang couldn’t stop praising her, and the two grew closer and closer.
......
But Grace’s life in Four Symbols City was never meant to be peaceful.
One day, a summons arrived from the palace, specifically calling her in to treat an illness.
The invitation only mentioned 'Jubilee Palace,' with no indication of which royal lady it was for.
Grace’s first reaction was not to go.
The Imperial Princess Bianca Whiteshire had a grudge against her. If she ran into her, wouldn’t that just be asking for trouble?
But it would be rude to refuse a palace invitation.
She wanted to establish herself in the Eastern Alliance, so offending the royal family was not an option.
So she went.
Before leaving, she instructed Bobby and Rina Chu: if she wasn’t back by nightfall, go find Felix Xi and ask him for help.
He knew Elder Samuel.
The Six Elders of the Spirit Alliance all had extraordinary skills and backgrounds—maybe they could save her life.
When she entered Jubilee Palace, a maid led her inside and asked her to wait a moment.
That 'moment' turned out to be a whole hour.
Just as she was about to go out and ask what was happening, the curtain rustled—a woman in palace attire, surrounded by maids, emerged.
It was Bianca Whiteshire!
Of course—the one you fear most always shows up.
Grace smiled and said, "So the mistress of Jubilee Palace is the Princess herself."
"Oh? Grace?" Bianca Whiteshire feigned surprise. "What are you doing here?"
"You sent the invitation and asked me to treat an illness," Grace replied.
