The two tidied up their clothes and stepped out of the thatched hut. Not far away, Minnie Wang saw them—especially Shawn Young—and instantly blushed, her cheeks flushed with red. She remembered what she’d secretly witnessed just moments ago, and her eyes flickered, unable to meet his gaze. Instead, she stole glances at Rainie Cheng, noticing that Rainie’s shy, amorous expression hadn’t quite faded yet. Minnie’s ears burned, her heart raced, and her mind kept replaying Rainie’s slightly "pained" look and the way she kept moaning, “Harder, a little harder—” making Minnie’s thoughts run wild.
David Wang saw them come out and hurried over. “Officer Cheng, there are a few police officers outside—they should be from the Nanning City Public Security Bureau?”
“Yes, I’ll go talk to them now.” Rainie Cheng nodded and walked straight toward the banana grove. Sure enough, outside was a police van for transporting prisoners, and a middle-aged officer with several young detectives were peering inside. The officer’s face grew serious when he saw Rainie, and he saluted her before waving and saying, “Hello, Inspector Cheng. I’m Detective Michael Zhang. We just received orders from Director Li and rushed over right away. Where are the people you mentioned?”
“Hello, Detective Zhang! They’re inside, but all of them have passed out. I’ll need your help to carry them out, haha—” Rainie Cheng said with a smile.
“Oh! Okay! Xiao Chen, you guys come with me and help move them!” Detective Michael Zhang waved to his young officers and followed Rainie Cheng into the banana grove. Shawn Young came over as soon as he saw her, while the Wayne siblings stood inside. On the ground lay the unconscious thugs from the Tiger Mafia. Detective Zhang immediately asked Rainie, “Are these the victims?”
Rainie Cheng nodded and pointed to Shawn Young and the Wayne siblings. “This is Shawn Young—he’s my boyfriend. These two are Mr. Wayne and Miss Wayne from Oceanic Holdings. They’re the real victims. Later, they’ll go back to Nanning with you, and you can take their statements.”
“Got it!” Detective Zhang and the other officers stepped forward to check on the Tiger Mafia members. After carefully inspecting their injuries, Detective Zhang looked at Rainie Cheng in surprise. “Hmm, these guys were knocked out with a single blow. From our criminal investigation experience, it takes precise aim and enough force on these spots to get results like this. Officer Cheng, your skills are impressive!”
“Haha, I wasn’t the one who knocked them out—it was him!” Rainie Cheng pointed to Shawn Young.
“Oh! I didn’t expect Mr. Young to be so skilled—your technique is clean and sharp! Were you in the special forces or something?” Detective Zhang asked curiously.
"Uh—I’ve learned a few moves, nothing special," Shawn Young said modestly.
"Haha, young man, those moves are no joke! No wonder you’ve won the favor of an officer as beautiful as Officer Cheng!" Detective Zhang said with a laugh.
"Oh, is that so? Maybe, haha—" Shawn Young grinned at Rainie Cheng, who gave him a playful glare but ignored him. She then called Detective Zhang and the young officers to handcuff the unconscious Tiger Mafia members and haul them out to the police van. After a bit of a struggle, they finally got everyone loaded up. The unlucky Tiger Mafia thugs were now on their way to be locked up in Nanning City.
David Wang backed out his silver BMW, preparing to follow Detective Zhang and the police back to Nanning City. Minnie Wang, though, walked up to Shawn Young, a bit reluctant to leave. Her pretty face was red as she quickly whispered, “I’ll transfer the money to your bank card when I get back. Remember, in two days, I’ll come find you!”
"Oh! Got it!" Shawn Young replied quickly.
Minnie Wang glanced around, seeing that Rainie Cheng and Detective Zhang were still talking outside and nobody was paying attention here. She stepped up to Shawn Young, her face still red, not daring to look him in the eye. In a low voice, she said, "About kicking you earlier, and what happened to your... you know, I’m really sorry. Next time, I’ll make it up to you!"
"Oh, I’m fine now, Miss Wang, you really don’t need to make it up to me." Shawn Young quickly waved his hand.
"Oh, you’re so annoying! That’s not the kind of ‘making it up’ I meant!" Minnie Wang said, half embarrassed and half anxious.
"Uh—another kind? What do you mean? I don’t get it," Shawn Young said, confused.
"You—" Minnie Wang bit her lip, suddenly leaned in and quickly kissed Shawn Young on the cheek, then darted away and whispered, "That’s what I meant! If you still don’t get it, forget it! I’m leaving now, bye—" Blushing, she turned and ran out, jumping into the silver BMW parked by the roadside.
"What does this mean?! Does she want to have a thing with me?" Shawn Young touched the spot on his cheek where she’d kissed him, thinking about it. His heart raced—next time Minnie Wang comes looking for him, he’s sure to have a shot at becoming her "super close bodyguard!" Just imagining her coy, shy face, those long, shapely legs, and her curvy figure made Shawn’s blood boil with excitement.
After Rainie Cheng saw them off, she came back and noticed Shawn Young’s odd expression. She immediately understood, walked over, and hooked his arm. “What’s up? Judging by your face, did that little Miss Wang just try to flirt with you?”
"Oh! N-no!" Shawn Young stuck to his usual routine of denying everything.
"Heh—stop pretending! I gave you two that chance on purpose! Hmph—you naughty guy, I know you’ve got her on your mind! She’s got the looks and the body, not to mention she’s an heiress and a top graduate from a prestigious university! I can’t compare, so you’d better take your chance! With her, you’ll be set for life—no more struggling!" Rainie Cheng teased, pretending to be jealous.
Shawn Young pulled Rainie Cheng close by the waist, turned her to face him, and looked her in the eyes. "Rainie, let me tell you—I don’t need to rely on any woman to succeed. Whether it’s money or power, I’ll earn it all myself!"
Rainie Cheng saw the determination in his eyes and nodded. "Mm! I believe you! The man I chose definitely has what it takes—because you’ve got confidence! And you’re greedy enough!"
"Oh, greedy enough? Maybe!" Shawn Young replied.
"That’s right—a lot of people think greed is bad, but history tells us that if a man really wants to make it in this world, sometimes he can’t afford to be soft. He’s got to be bold, use his strength, his smarts, and his skills to get what he wants!" Rainie Cheng said seriously.
Shawn Young was moved by her words, raised his eyebrows, and hugged Rainie Cheng. "Rainie, do you like me this way?"
"Haha—you're my man, Rainie Cheng's choice, and I like you just the way you are!" Rainie answered without hesitation.
"Rainie, you’re amazing. I really want to love you—hard!" Shawn Young suddenly realized how much he liked Rainie’s personality. Once she chose him, she’d never change her mind.
"You naughty thing, I know you’re wild in that way, but it’s getting late—let’s head back first! And stop thinking about that stuff all the time. It’s normal for a guy to want a pretty woman, but if you’re always obsessed with it, you’ll miss the important things! Got it, greedy guy? Once you’ve handled business, you can do whatever you want and I’ll join you!" Rainie Cheng advised him like a caring wife.
"Okay, got it! I’ll be more careful next time." Shawn Young blushed, nodded, and led Rainie Cheng out of the banana grove. They got in the car and drove off toward Clearview City.
